To be honest, Jezebel was a bit hesitant in passing the note once she'd written it. Genevieve had given her a couple of pointers about flirting over the break, but she was still new at this and she wasn't all too sure she was doing it right, but somehow her new hair gave her a boost of confidence, enough that she could pass the note over to her crush with steady hands, and even managing to add on a wink when he looked up at her before she turned to face the professor once more, brown locks swinging purposefully over her shoulders.

Gideon didn't get much of a chance to see this mysterious brunette, but she was flirting with him awfully heavily, and he didn't like it. Well, he sort-of did, but mostly he didn't because he had a girlfriend. Jezebel. And okay, he hadn't seen her in two weeks, but he still fancied her very much, and was definitely not going to flirt with this strange brunette.

Momentarily puzzled, Jezebel snuck another glance at him, just to make sure that he was, in fact, the same Gideon, not another bloke. But nope, it was him all right, and how many Gideon Prewetts could there be, anyway? Unless he had a twin also named Gideon, but she doubted that very much. 'Could it be that he was ignoring me? Had he completely forgotten about me over the past few weeks?' I wondered, aggravated by the idea. Surely I wasn't that forgettable! As a matter of fact, I had always prided myself in being unforgettable. I racked my brain for an explanation, and alighted on the explanation that he was teasing. Genevieve had told her that blokes liked to do that sometimes. Could it be that he was just pretending to ignore me? Well, I could play along, too!

No, no I'm positive I've got the right bloke. Gideon Prewett, Hufflepuff Keeper and sweetheart extraordinaire, no? Don't tell me if you've forgotten me so quickly, handsome. I'm hurt!

She passed over the note, turning around to face him fully and raising an eyebrow expectantly, her lips twitching with amusement. Had he really failed to recognise her because she'd changed her hair colour? I didn't think I looked that different! But maybe I did.

Well, this was embarrassing. Here he was, having his girlfriend flirt with him this whole time, and he'd been telling her to knock it off. He didn't recognise her at all because she'd dyed her hair, and now he was feeling like quite the arse. And now that he managed to get a good look at her face, he definitely recognised her as Jezebel.
