I knew it! Haha, I thought I felt something. I know they're not as impressive as they could be, but they get the job done.

You felt that? Oh, gosh, I was trying to be subtle. And I like them well enough! I prefer yours to your brother's type, at least. He is what I like to call 'overly buff'. It's frightening rather than impressive, really.

Don't worry, I definitely didn't mind.
Really? I think that's the first time anyone's ever said that. Haha, thanks, thanks very much. I'd love to see the look on his face if you told him that. I'll try not to change too much for you.

Well, good. I suppose it would be fair if I let you return the favour, though.
Really? Well, I've always prided myself in having a different opinion than others, so maybe I shouldn't be too surprised. And good, I'm glad. I like you just the way you are.

Er... Well, we can... you know... cross that bridge when we get to it.
I like your opinions. Still confused about the stork though I like that they're different.

No worries.
As class ended, Gideon tossed his books and notes haphazardly into his bag and slung the strap over his shoulder. He waited while Jezebel organised hers before taking her bag and putting it over his other shoulder. Then, deciding to make a bold move, he reached over and took her hand as they walked out of the classroom, grinning a little bashfully down at her. "So... Charms, right?" he decided to check; nothing would be more embarrassing than leading your girlfriend to the wrong classroom.

'Wow. He actually took my bag,' I thought, genuinely surprised. What an extremely prince-like move of him! It was akin to a gentleman laying his coat over a puddle so that his lady (a little thrill went through me when I thought of myself as Gideon's lady. Being Gideon's anything was thrilling enough, I thought) could pass over it without ruining her beautiful gown. Of course, it was slightly different in this case seeing as he was carrying my bag, but all the same. It was extremely gallant of Gideon to do so. Jezebel was taken by surprise when she felt his hand around hers, and she almost pulled it away out of pure shock, because no one had ever tried to hold her hand before. But then when she realised what he was doing, she wrapped her fingers around his in return and felt, to her utter mortification, a blush pool in her cheeks. This was not the first time she had blushed around - or because of - Gideon Prewett, and she had a feeling it would not be the last. "Yes, Charms!" she uttered, stuttering a little over 'Charms' because she was busy fighting off the sudden butterflies that had took flight in her stomach. I thought this kind of reaction only happened when you had a crush on someone, doesn't it go away when you're boyfriend-and-girlfriend? Apparently not, because the butterflies maintained their swarming all the way to her classroom, even as they made small talk. She blamed the butterflies for what she did next; obviously they had floated up and forced her body up as well, making her kiss his cheek the way she did. She'd never kissed a boy's cheek before! Not at this age, anyway. Unless it was Lyle, but Lyle didn't count because he wasn't her boyfriend, and he wasn't even attracted to girls like that.
Somehow managing to fight down yet another blush, Jezebel took a few flustered steps towards the classroom, and then remembered that she'd forgotten to take her bag and skipped back, relieving him of it's weight. She was about to skip back to the classroom, but found herself hesitating instead, staring up at him. He really had such lovely eyes, the colour of warm butterscotch, almost, and just as sweet, too. "I'll see you later, maybe?"
she asked, hoping not to sound too hopeful (and failing miserably). "At...lunch? I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to join him at the Hufflepuff table, but I had seen members of different houses sitting together before, so surely it wouldn't be much of a problem. If need be, I would change my robes from scarlet to bronze if it meant I'd get to sit next to Gideon! I hesitated for a moment and mentally kicked myself for sounding like such a...a...desperate...fool . Is this what being besotted to someone feels like? Because if it is, I don't like it one bit.Only, she completely did. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Well, now Gideon was faced with a bit of a dilemma. Originally, he'd planned to surprise her and kiss her on the cheek, but she seemed to have the same plan in mind. So while Gideon stood, trying not to blush as he raised his fingers to his cheek, his mind reeled and he tried to think of some other way to woo her. ... Woo? Like some old-fashioned geezer - whatever. Well... he could kiss her. Like, actually kiss her. But what if she worried about storks or something? Especially in a crowded corridor. But he started leaning in anyway as she came back out to get her bag, stopping himself as she spoke. "Sure," he said, giving her bag back. As he slipped it on her shoulder, he ran his hand down her arm to take hers and brought it up toward his face. Looking Jezebel in the eye, Gideon pressed his lips to the back of her palm, then smiled around her knuckles before releasing her hand. Okay, that had been some serious improvising there, and he'd even shocked himself, but he tried to play it cool and straightened up. "I'll see you at lunch, then," he grinned, then turned away and headed back down the stairs.
Haha, okay. So he was a little pleased with himself.
Could you blame him?

Jezebel didn't know what she was expecting, but it certainly wasn't what Gideon did; which was take her hand and press his mouth to the soft skin above her knuckles. Almost immediately, the warmth swept through her and filled her cheeks all over again and she stuttered out a "y-yeah," even though she hadn't exactly heard what he'd said. She stood there staring after him dazedly for a few more seconds until the bustle of students filing into the classroom jolted her into movement and she shook her head, following one of her classmates into the class, although she'd obviously left her mind behind with Gideon. When she was seated, she stared down at the hand he'd kissed and unconsciously brought it to her mouth, pressing her lips against the warm imprint he'd left. As soon as she realised what she was doing, she dropped it, banging her hand against the desk, which then jolted her again.
Oh Merlin, she was such a dork.
