Tying the ropes in his hand to the trunk of a nearby tree, Hagrid grunted as he stood upward, wiping his brow with the back of his sleeve. Days when he taught the younger years was always easier, since the beasts he showed them were calmer and easier to handle, thought today might be a bit of a stretch. Thestrals couldn't be seen by just anyone, and he was almost hoping that no one was going to be able to see them. Checking his back pocket, he pulled out the rolled up painting of a thestral, so that the kids that couldn't see it would have some sort of visual. It wasn't the best painting (Hagrid wasn't the best artist), but it would do. Trundling over to the clearing where most of his class was starting to gather. Clearing his throat and smiling happily at the students in front of him, Hagrid waved his hands, "Ye won't need yer books for today's lesson. Just set 'em down on the ground somewhere." Sniffing and looking over the group he had for that day, Hagrid was inwardly torn at the scheduling. He loved Gryffindors, they were usually interested in actual learning, as well as the Ravenclaws. But the blue-robed students were often hard to satisfy, always asking questions that he didn't always know the answers to. They made him nervous. As the last few students made their way to the edge of the woods, Hagrid turned his attention back to his class, "Alrigh', I've got a bit of a hands-on lesson today. I half-hope that you can't participate, even though these are right fascinating creatures." Waving toward them to follow, Hagrid started to trundle past the treeline, "Righ' this way."
