Facial Properties: Julianna isn't incredibly particular about her appearance. Her long black hair, that falls to a couple inches above her elbow, is usually pulled back into an incredibly messy bun. It's more for the purpose of keeping it out of her face than for looking pretty. Her eyes are a dark brown, and her skin is tanned, a result of spending most of her time outdoors. She almost always seems to have a smile on her face, and on occassion she will have smudges of dirt across her face. She never wears any makeup (what's the point when it'll just end up covered by dirt?).
Physique: Julianna isn't a very tall woman. She comes in at about 5'3". She's not terribly skinny, but she's not overweight either. She weighs around 120 pounds, which she thinks is perfectly fine. Her clothing is practical. She doesn't wear heels often, for special occassions maybe. Her work clothes are simple robes, some of have a few patches and a little dirt rubbed in.

Personality: Julianna is usally a fairly kind and caring person. She doesn't get mad incredibly easy. And when she does she cools off pretty quickly. She likes to make people feel welcome, especially when they are in her class. She isn't one to be overly harsh though she can be and will be if she needs to.

She tries to be fair when dealing with others, students in particular. She doesn't want them thinking she's too soft, and that they can get away with whatever they want to. But she also doesn't want them to think she's unjustly cruel, and end up hating her. Julianna doesn't give out punishments, such as detention, to her students unless she feels that the student really deserves it.

She doesn't tolerate people goofing off, or disobeying her directions, while she is teaching. This is one of the things that will cause her to get mad and hand out punishments. She likes to see people doing their work without complaining about it. It makes her happy to see students doing their work diligently and not dilly-dallying about it. She knows when she needs to crack down on her students so they get their work done in time, and when she can go a little easier on them.

However much Julianna enjoys teaching, there are, of course, days when she is more than happy to relax with a good book, her cat (Checkers), and her teaching duties, and all the things that are going on in the world. Her fears are never far from her mind and mostly center around the safety of her family. She does try to keep her fears from showing to the people around her, though isn't always successful.

History: Julianna was born in 1945 to a wizarding family. She had three siblings. Two brothers and one sister. Of these siblings the sister was the only one younger than her. She developed a love of gardening early in her life, as she often helped her mother out in the garden before she was old enough to go to Hogwarts.

During the summer breaks while she was at school, she continued to help in her mothers garden. And before long in the neighbours gardens as well. It was during the summer after her fifth year at Hogwarts that she met her future husband, Gareth Nell. His family, which was also a wizarding family, had moved in down the street. They had become good friends fairly quickly. She found out he would be attending Hogwarts as well, though he would be in his seventh year, whereas she was only in the sixth.

Their friendship continued to grow into love, though neither noticed at first. Eventually, about a year and a half after Julianna had finished at Hogwarts they got married and when Julianna was 21 they had a daughter, named Isadora. For a few years after that, Julianna worked as a teacher at Beauxbatons for a few years.

However, after five years of teaching there, she decided she needed a break, from teaching and having to speak french. She also felt she needed to spend more time with her family. Though now that her daughter is eleven, and ready to start at Hogwarts, Julianna has decided to take a new teaching position.
Resume: "I have had previous experience as a teacher at a magical school. As a herbology teacher in particular. I spent five years teaching herbology at Beauxbatons. After those five years I felt it was time for a break. I have not taught at all during the last two years, though I am now ready to return to teaching."

Piles of books, parchment, quills, and a few ink bottles covered the table in the Ravenclaw common room. Sitting in front of this mound of stuff was a dark haired sixth year. Her quill was moving rapidly across the length of parchment directly in front her, pausing for brief moments as she stopped to check something in one of her books. She was throwing annoyed looks over her shoulder at the noisier occupants of the common room whenever she paused. Just because some of them chose to leave their homework to the last minute, didn’t mean that everyone did, and the least they could do was show some measure of respect for those who were trying to get their work done. She was finding it more and more difficult to restrain herself from shooting a hex of some sort or another at some of them.

She couldn’t even go down to the library to escape from the noise as it was past curfew, and there was no she was going to risk getting caught just for some quiet. After a particularly loud outburst from some fourth years sitting by the fire, Dylena slammed her books shut, and gathered up her stuff. She would just have to work in her dorm, on her bed; at least it would be quiet up there. She climbed the stairs and dumped her books and parchment onto her bed, and sat the edge of it. She opened up her Transfiguration book and returned to the essay she’d been writing for Dumbledore.

She was still busy writing when the other girls who shared the dorm with her walked in. “Why are you working up here instead of in the common room, Lena?” one of the girls asked, coming over and reading part of the essay over Dylena’s shoulder.

“It was too noisy, honestly you think people would have a little more respect for those of us who actually do our homework….” Was her reply, as she finished off the essay and tucked it, her books, and ink and quill back into her bag. “I suppose it’s quieted down in there now though. What time is it anyway?”

“After eleven,” one girl replied, “we expected you to be asleep, not still working.” The others muttered their agreement, as all five of them got ready for bed. “Though I guess you are a bit of an overachiever, aren’t you?”

“Definitely,” Dylena answered as she climbed into bed and pulled the hangings around her.
