ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Name: Aelita Derrivalle
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Year: 5th
Celebrity: Emile De’Raven
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties:
Aelita has always been very pretty, but back when she was running around barefoot and having a mud fight with the boys, most probably wouldn’t of been able to tell. She herself knows that she has a pretty face but deems it to not be important, if anything she thinks of it as somewhat of a curse. Her pretty face gives people the impression that she is an innocent and helpless little girl and that is far from the truth. Aelita’s hair is a very light blonde, a mess of curls hanging down past her shoulders annoying the girl extensively. She wears her hair up finding it better to work when her hair is out of her face and therefore out of her way. Although most may not know it, she has a tendency to comb her hair a little more then needed; a problem Aelita likes to claim as the Beauxbaton’s curse.
Her skin is pretty fair, a very light color that brings out her grayish blue eyes. Eyes that have a tendency to become a brighter shade of blue when she smiles, especially in the light. Long eyelashes cover her blue orbs with a natural curl, a genetic heritage that seemed to plague her mothers side of the family. After all the years of being forced to wear make up at Beauxbatons Academy, she never wears any at Hogwarts and she didn’t really need too.
Although Aelita isn’t very appearance conscious, she has a tendency to look in the mirror and frown because her nose is too big, or at least to her it is. Although she is quite pretty she feels rather plain because she’s not the type of girl to wear jewelry or hair accessories. Those kinds of things feel strange and she feels they don’t suit her.
Physique:
Aelita is a little bit tall for her age standing at 5’6, which is tall but not too tall for a girl. Other then her height she has small hands and small feet, her shoe size is between 4 ½ and 5. Her mother once told her that her small hands and feet were because of her French heritage, Aelita wasn’t quite sure if that was true or not. Personally she found her small feet annoying; it was hard to find shoes in her size. Aelita was very fit and healthy, mostly due to all the exercise she loved to do early in the mornings. She loved to be active ever sense she was little and was pretty strong for a girl even if she didn’t really look too strong. She had the body of an athlete but some how managed to keep her skin from losing its smooth texture.
Aelita wears her house robes during class but enjoys wearing the clothes from her homeland when she is off by herself. Which are usually long skirts or dresses, but ever sense coming to Hogwarts she has found jeans to be quite comfortable and wears them on occasions. At times when she observes the other girls of the school she feels a little out of place because she dresses different from them often making her grow even more distant from her classmates. It is only when she can break free from the halls to the outside that she can clearly shake herself from the slight depressive mood she had gotten into.
Personality:
Aelita had always had an air of mystery around her sense the day she transferred to Hogwarts from Beauxbatons Academy. It was very rare and quite unusual that a student would transfer from one academy to the next. A lot of rumors floated around and the fact that Aelita did nothing about them didn’t help any. She wasn’t the type of person to care what other people said about her. Most seemed a little nervous to approach her because all the gossip but eventually most of the rumors would subside except for a few of course. Aelita rarely talked to anyone gaining her the impression that she was a stuck up Beauxbaton princess. Although at times it did bother her that people said such things about her, she choose to ignore it like all the rest. The few people she talked too were the ones that looked past what the gossip mill said about her.
It wasn’t as if Aelita didn’t want to have friends, she just thought studying her magic was more important then making friends. She was quite the bookworm; she always worked really hard in her studies because she wasn’t a genesis. The only way she could do well is by working really hard and practicing. There are times when she gets lonely and desires company but that’s a side she chooses not to show anyone. There are days when she questions her decision to keep her distance from others; she has doubts like anyone else. Even though she is very studious she likes to also stay active and loves to go to the Quidditch games.
Although Aelita is a very quite and soft spoken person, she is not afraid to share her opinion whether someone wants to hear it or not. She can’t stand to watch people prick on another student no matter what house their part of. Many see it as a strange outburst from the usually quite girl. She doesn’t like to draw such attention to herself but she couldn’t live with herself if she stood around and did nothing. Aelita is known to stand up for anyone, she would even stand up for a Slytherin, whether they were a muggle or pureblood it didn’t matter. Aelita doesn’t understand the house rivalry and finds it very foolish.
Aelita gives of the impression that she doesn’t really care to be around other people and doesn’t know how to have fun. Of course that is far from the truth, one of the reason she transferred to Hogwarts because it was a lot more laid back then the strict environment at Beauxbatons Academy. She enjoys hearing about what pranks certain students played on teachers or other students, she finds it humorous as long as the person getting tricked doesn’t get hurt. Aelita is a very caring individual; she is kind to most of the people around her. Although she is good at standing up for complete strangers, she has never been very good at comforting a crying acquaintance because she is never sure what to say to them. What scares her the most is being a failure, going home to her family not accomplishing anything at all.

History:
Aelita Lyn Derrivalle was born on the first day of spring to loving parents on the first day of spring. She was the second child in the Derrivalle family, her sister Gabrielle was four years older then her. Her mother Mary was a muggle without magical abilities while her father Vince belonged to a pure blood family. Her fathers parents had been against the marriage from the start, but their words did nothing to stray him from his path with Mary. Her father had denounced his family name much and took the name of his new wife, Mary Derrivalle. Life had been happy their first child Gabrielle had been born a normal never knowing what magic was. It was not in till Aelita was born that her father remembered just who he was. Her father was very happy that his little girl was going to someday become a great witch.
Aelita grew her life like any normal girl would have, well almost normal with the exception of her magic studies. Her father thought it best to start teaching his daughter about magic before she became of age to attend school. Her first lesion was to learn to fly a broom before her father moved onto teaching her more and more about magic. In till the day came when Aelita became of age and her father enrolled her in the Beauxbatons Academy, the school of magic that resided in France. At first Aelita wasn’t sure what to think of the new environment that she had been thrown into. She had grown up in the country and had spend her time climbing trees and running around with the boys that lived around her. It had made her quite nervous to watch all the girls at the school bring all proper and polite. She slowly began to wonder if this is where someone got the idea for Barbie.
Aelita’s father had been happy that his daughter would be attending such a school as Beauxbatons Academy. He had high expectations for her and bought all the necessary supplies that she would need for school, including her wand. Her wand had been 12 ¼ inches, made of Ash wood with the tale of a male unicorn. The moment her hand had touched the wand she felt as if it belonged to her. After getting all her supplies, class soon started and Aelita did her best to stay on track. Although it was rather hard to do things the Beaux way because Aelita preferred to do things her way, which often got her in trouble with her teachers. Especially when she tended to question the things they said, she had definitely gotten off to a rough start with her teachers. Yet like a disease, the Beaux prim and proper way soon inflected its way through her veins and her rebellious nature had subsided. She had become calm and more polite, everyday it seemed like she was becoming a model student.
Deep down Aelita had begun to feel like something was terribly wrong with her and towards the end of her four year at Beauxbatons Academy she convinced her father to allow her to transfer to Hogwarts. After much waiting during the summer finally an owl came from Hogwarts to announce that she had been accepted into Hogwarts. The trip to Hogwarts had been a long one, but she had been looking forward to the change. Aelita’s first day at Hogwarts had felt like the first day at Beauxbatons Academy only this time it was reverse. The students at Hogwarts seemed a lot more relaxed then the picture perfect image of Beauxbatons. She would be like a stranger entering a foreign land, everyone around her would know everyone else. It was better this way because Aelita had made a promise to her father that she would focus on her studying. That was the agreement he made allowing her to transfer and it didn’t matter, just being at Hogwarts had lifted her spirits. Watching everyone around her laughing and having fun was a welcoming sight.
Walking down the halls of Hogwarts for the first time she had felt as if her spirit had awoken from a deep slumber. She was a nervous about her new year at a new school but at the same time relieved. Aelita was not sure if she was prepared for her new environment or the rumors that would start, but she wasn’t one to falter now. Her first year at Hogwarts was bound to be a strange one but some how she knew it would be exciting as well. This year she would shed the Beauxbatons Academy influence and become at Hogwarts student.

Midnight, the time in fairy tales when everything considered special ended, it seemed to be the time that everyone dreaded including him. It was that time again, the night when he would suffer an entire day sitting through the annual Mon’Dia ball. He ran a hand through his hair with a sigh; out of all the things he hated about being born royal this was the worst. Reuban had never been fond of balls and dreaded dancing more then anything else in the world. There was nothing he could do to get out of it, he had already tried earlier this morning. He had tried to sneak out of the house but found he couldn’t even escape his room; a guard blocked his path with strict orders to keep him where he was.
Lady Trisana was a step ahead of him this year; he had managed to get out of the balls the previous years usually by sneaking out while excusing himself for a bathroom break. Trisana was very bitter too him the next day, she went as far as making him dance with every girl in the room last year. He cringed at the unwelcoming memory, he couldn’t feel his feet after that one and then there was the time a couple years back. She had caught him trying to sneak off and then made him sing a duet with his sister as punishment. Reuban shook his head as he continued to get ready for the ball; it was almost time for it to begin.
Finishing his tasks of preparing for the ball, he walked over to the mirror to inspect his attire. A greenish teal button up shirt covered his chest with a long golden sash crossing from his right shoulder; his long sleeves were curled back giving him the proper look he was expected to show. The shirt hung loosely over his black pants but still held a look of importance, to finish off the outfit he slipped on a pair of thin white gloves tucking them into his sleeve. Reuban frowned in the mirror turning away and heading for the door, he hated getting all dressed up because he was always showered with annoying complements.
Gripping the handle on the door lightly he opened it to reveal a Mon’Dian guard standing their waiting for him, she really was determined to get him there. He walked beside his ‘Escort’ down the hall not in the mood to say anything to his prison guard. His eyes soon locked onto the rest of his family as he took his position near the back, the order went by age and he was the youngest in the family. The doors opened and his ears picked up the voices inside instantly letting their noise fade away as the circus began. He counted silently in his head giving his sister the few steps ahead of him before having to make his own entrance a little ways behind her. Reuban had straightened up his posture and walked with the dignity that he was meant to show, that and Trisana would murder him even he made a fool of her.
He breathed a sigh of relief as he sat down in his seat sitting up straight but feeling tired of it all already. It had barely begun and he was already feeling that emotion he knew so well during balls, retreat! His eyes roamed over to the stage as the curtains opened and he focused his attention on their grad performer. She was one of the reasons he had decided to come; he didn’t want her to think little of her talent if he didn’t show up. He closed his eyes letting the music of her lye distract his mind and the sound of her voice was so much better. She was truly talented and it wasn’t the least bit surprising that Lady Trisana had wanted her to start the ball off.
When the song had ended Reuban was a tad bit sad for her voice to fade but he also dreaded what was coming next. The audience or Mon”dian supporters never applauded in till a member of the royal family showed there praise first and he knew certain of members of his family would not be the one to stand up first. Reuban shook his head before putting a sincere smile on his face standing up. He released a fairly loud applause that showed how impressed he was, she was very good after all.
