ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Patrick Burton Meyers Age: 17 Gender: Male Year: Seventh Celebrity: Jamie Bell
Canon or Original? Original~
Facial Properties: Starting at the top, Patrick's crowned with a dark, rather messy head of hair, cut to just around the nape of the neck. Right under that(skipping the eyebrows, of course), are almond-shaped eyes, which are a light blue. He has a slightly thin nose, sort of pointed at the end. He has a smallish mouth, with thin lips, usually set into some form of smirk. All these features set into a vaguely oval-ly face. Physique: Patrick is thin, more of an athletic shape than 'skinny'. He stands at about six foot even, and like most tall, thin boys, isn't too intimidating a presence. Movements are smooth and unrushed, although his fingers sometimes have sudden, jerky motions - a nervous twitch, perhaps. His stlye of clothing is "casual but tasteful": loose, button-up shirts and a pair of slacks are his usual attire.
Personality: Well, lessee: Brilliant, neurotic, sarcastic and witty would be four wonderful descriptors for Mr. Meyers here. Patrick is friendly, to a point, but never to the point where he'll hold back a particularly good verbal jab, especially when he thinks the person in question needs to hear it; he is kind, but it's that sort of backhanded kindness that most people don't realize. Sure, he's comfortable around people, but no one who knows him would actually call him outgoing. He loves the sound of his own voice and he's got a certain kind of arrogance to him, the 'no one can do it as well as I can, so I have to do it myself' sort. With that kind of outlook, he prefers doing his work alone, all the better, as he'd simply take over if a partner made the smallest mistake. He's certainly not the lazy sort, but knows his boundaries; grades are all well and good, but who wants to study all the time? Patrick doesn't have a large amount of friends, one could say, but tons of acquaintances. Those few that he's acknowledged as friends gave him a damn well reason to do so. Like I mentioned, it's not that he's unfriendly, but it takes a certain kind of people to get used to him. He's not what you'd call a doting brother, just a good enough one. He gets the responsibility that comes with all that "big brother" junk, really, and watches just enough to keep his sisters out of trouble. Passionate, reckless, and erratic, he's never been able to keep a relationship going for long; either it burns out too quickly, or the poor girl can't keep up with him. Flirting is rare, but only because he doesn't feel like he needs to. Most people who've seen Patrick angry would rather not see a repeat performance. His voice and whole demeanor become very cold and distant, and his expression is rumoured to be short of demonic. Obviously, folks want to stay on his good side. He's rarely sad or upset, but when he is, he prefers to go off somewhere alone. Anyone walking in on him would probably be met with some withering glare, but not much other protest. He's a knowledge whore, so to speak, and he spends most of his time in different libraries, reading up on anything you could name.(Er, not pushing for a house, it just popped itself into my head~!)
Likes: *womenfolk *dark humor *campy musicals(ah, no admitting to that one!) *Quidditch *flying *interesting debates *being respected *poetry - he likes the modernists best *learning new things *adventures are quite thrilling, no? *languages
Dislikes: *hot weather *very small children *bigots- so terribly stupid! *chatterboxes *unclean animals *care of magical creatures *forced comraderie *sunrises *bicycles- bad experience *total silence *sugary foods
History:Patrick was born the second child to a small family, not that it would stay so for very long. Growing up as a muggle family, there was nothing spectacular about his early years. He spent most of his time annoying his older brother, and in turn being bothered by his sisters, both younger than him. This isn't to say sibling relationships were bad, just that tormenting each other was a sort of hobby. His parents, although not a involved as Patrick would have liked, still garner his affections. There was that time- about two weeks before he got his Hogwarts letter- where he walked on water and told everyone that he was the next Jesus, but that was the only experience with magic he remembers. His brother John, two years older, was a second year by the tine Patrick started, and so he knew about magic, atleast, even if he'd never seen it. Patrick was in his fifth year when his grandmother died, something he took rather badly. He didn't show it to anyone, though, and only close friends could tell you how her death affected him. Another hit came months later, when Patricks father up and left one day with no warning. This left Patrick more angry than anything, and confused. Both events had put a damper on Patrick's recent years at Hogwarts, but most of his peer saw no change in his actions. He was still just as strange, just as friendly, just as strong as always, if not a little subdued, if you looked close enough. Other than those little ruts? Patrick's school life has been uneventful, to sum it up. He remembers one fight in second year, hand-to-hand, that was the talk for a while, but not much else has made his time at Hogwarts very memorable. Let's see if we can change that this year.
ABOUT YOU Name: Erika Years of Experience: less than a year~ Sample Post: Oh, what fresh hell was this. Dragging himself to a sitting position, Patrick looked to the most recent of his annoyances, affecting a decidedly un-friendly expression onto his features. If whoever it was was put off, all the better then. Anyone who'd been at Hogwarts for more than a year knew better than to interrupt Patrick at all, especially if he was resting, and especially especially if he was doing so anywhere near the lake. "And what, my dear child, do you absolutely need to tell me that required poking me?" he murmured softly, looking the boy over while he spoke. Well, he was just a tiny one, wasn't he, probably barely reached his chest. He couldn't peg a House on him, though the fact that the kid was practically bouncing might clue one in a bit. Likely a fifth year, Patrick thought. He was tiny, but - "Hey, well you're Patrick, right? Wanna be friends?" the younger boy interrupted his thoughts all too brightly, and...oh god, was that a Puppy Face? Patrick suppressed a mini-shudder, though he had to admit that the kid was cute, in a stray puppy way. And bold too, he had to admit; that, or just. Really, really stupid. "...Friends. Friends, kid? Jeez, and how old are you?" Patrick had caught his voice sounding somewhat strange, but controlled it to normal by the time his mouth closed. Probably just shock, because really, when was the last time he'd heard that? He ran his fingers through his hair, sure that it'd been mussed while he napped. "What? Uh, I'm fifteen! Name's Eli," he stuck out one hand, but let it drop to his side when Patrick didn't shake it. He didn't know what to think of this kid, honestly but...what the hell, right? Maybe something good would come of it. "Well then - Eli, was it?" he stood up, partly to properly greet him, and part to look down on him, "I'll tell you what. Whatever the reason, you can be my friend, I've decided. That does not mean you can run around spouting this to all your little friends or anything; but I'll...I dunno, help you with schoolwork and etcetera, or whatever it is I'm supposed to do. Understand? Nothing special. At all." And he clapped Eli on the shoulder, turning him to go a moment after. Patrick watched the younger boy leave, then returned to his earlier position with a grumble. This was going to come haunt him one day, he just knew it. (Okay, I don't know where I was going with this...)
Other: Mimbulus Mimbletonia
