ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Lily Marie Evans Age: 17 Gender: Female Year: 7th Celebrity: Lindsay Lohan
Canon or Original? Canon
Facial Properties: Lily doesn't think of herself as beautiful, but she is definitely a pretty girl. Most of her charm comes from her personality and her rather arresting face, with its pointed chin and vivid, almond-shaped green eyes. Depending on the light, Lily's eyes may look to be deep, emerald-green, or a bright dazzling green. Her eyes are starred with long, dark lashes that do not require any make-up for them to stand out. Lily has slightly thin lips, which she hates. Lily's shoe size ranges from about 7 to an 8, so her feet are an average size, although they are considerably larger than her mother's size 5. Lily is thin and athletic-looking, but she does have a rather large bust, which isn't always appreciated.
Fortunately for her, Lily has naturally clear skin. All she has to do is wash her face regularly, and her complexion stays virtually pimple-free. And of course, there is always magic if she happens to get a particularly nasty blemish. Lily's skin tone is fair, and she has a small spattering of freckles across her face, although they are nearly invisible. Although she doesn't have a gorgeous golden tan like some girls at Hogwarts (which they mostly acquire by magic), Lily is perfectly happy with her skin color. It isn't too pale, but it isn't strangely tan either, because the climate at Hogwarts isn't exactly tropical.
One of Lily's best features is her hair. It is a deep, blood-red color, and it is naturally wavy. If she doesn't do anything with it, it will curl into completely natural soft spirals. Lily likes to wear her hair fairly long, and she rarely styles it, unless for special occasions, such as balls or dances. Sometimes she pulls it back in a loose ponytail out of her face, or sometimes she will braid it with a little charm. One thing Lily absolutely hates about her appearance are her teeth. They aren't bad at all, and she has even had them tweaked a bit with magic by her father, but there is just something about them that bothers her all the time. The only thing that comforts her is that nobody has every said anything bad about them.
Physique: Lily has a wonderfully fast metabolism, so she can stay quite healthy and in-shape as long as she eats well and exercises every once in awhile. Instead of playing Quidditch like some at Hogwarts, Lily prefers to go on long jogs around the grounds perhaps two or three times a week. Other than that, she doesn't really need any other type of exercise, although she enjoys riding horses with her father when they have free time during summer holiday. Lily is on the taller side, standing at a bit over 5'7". Lily is thin and athletic-looking, and many mistake her for her mother from the back. The only difference is that her mother's hair is more of a brown color than deep red like Lily's.
Although she wears Hogwarts robes almost constantly at school, Lily doesn't like to wear robes during the summer holiday. She and her parents always wear Muggle clothing, especially since the rest of her family are Muggles. Lily loves jeans. In her opinion, they are very comfortable, durable, and can be worn with pretty much anything. Lily also absolutely adores Muggle shoes. At Hogwarts, she mostly just wears her normal tennis shoes, but during the summer she likes wearing flip-flops and other fun things that Muggles like to put on their feet.
Just a few years ago, when Lily was in her fourth year, she had a bit of an eating problem. It certainly didn't amount to an eating disorder, but it came close. For some reason, somebody gave some offhand remark about what Lily was wearing, and it made her very self-conscious. It even made her anxious about what she looked like underneath the clothes, so she started to go on something of a diet. She started skipping meals, and actually lost quite a few pounds. She started getting quite thin, but luckily, Professor McGonagall noticed and ordered her to the Hospital Wing. It only took a look in the mirror for Lily to kick herself and come to her senses. She is normally a very down-to-earth girl, so it was very embarassing for her, and she gained back the healthy weight as soon as possible.
Personality: Lily Evans is that one girl that has a reputation of being hated by many and liked by many, all at the same time. Some guys adore her; others think she is simply stuck-up and much too bookish. There are a few girls out there who just like Lily for who she is, and you can count on those to be her closest friends. Some girls pretend to be her friend because they think she’s pretty, or they think that she might give them a better reputation. Still others deeply dislike her, either because they envy her, or because they simply think she is a snob. And of course, not everybody in the school even knows her name. There are always those people that Lily has passed in the corridors for years, yet have never spoken to her.
Outwardly, Lily might appear that she thinks of herself as high and mighty, and superior to everybody else in her presence. But the truth is, Lily is just extremely clever. It’s just the truth; Lily Evans has always been a bright girl with a knack for finding patterns and solving problems. People with no common sense often annoy Lily, and although she doesn’t intentionally degrade people, some people often feel a bit put down in her presence. Lily has actually noticed that she possesses this personality trait, and she hates it. Although she doesn’t really care what people think of her, Lily would like for people to like her, of course. Who doesn’t?
Despite the fact that she has flaws like any normal human being, Lily is actually quite good at being considerate of everybody, and it gains her an advantage by causing her acquaintances to lean more towards being her friend, rather than her enemy. To most people, Lily is very charismatic. She is charming and witty, and has a great sense of humor. Most of her teachers have taken a great liking to Lily, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s smart, either. Adults take to Lily very well, and her parents are proud to bring her along to house parties or business trips, because she charms the birds right out of the trees.
When speaking about a subject that particularly interests her, Lily can be quite talkative. She has very strong opinions that she likes to share, but she also likes to hear what other’s think. Sometimes Lily finds that she is simply dominating a conversation, but at times she can’t help it. She likes to talk, especially about things that concern her. Miss Evans can be a bit cheeky, which annoys some people but makes many people laugh. Lily has a good sense of humor, but she doesn’t enjoy making fun of other people. Lily is one of those people that always try to see the good in others, which can be taken as being irritating or compassionate, depending on how well you know Lily.
Obviously, Lily is very brave. She has the courage to stand up for herself, and for others. Naturally, she was put into Gryffindor, although many have suggested that she should be in Ravenclaw because of her cleverness. Lily is also incredibly stubborn, another trait common among Gryffindors. Once her mind is made up about something, there is naught anybody can do to change it. A recently developed personality trait is that Miss Evans has decently high self-esteem. Most of the time she feels quite good about who she is, physically, mentally, and emotionally. And according to her mother, self-respect is one of the most important things a person can learn in her lifetime.

History: Lily Marie Evans was born in the outskirts of London, England, on a warm May evening in 1957, a witch into a Muggle family. Although it was very common at that time to be born with the help of medicines and nurses, Lily’s mother, Marie, didn’t want anything to do with it. She wanted to have her two daughters the completely natural way, and she didn’t even go to a hospital. Lily was born in an averaged-size white house with a large yard and two huge trees out in front. She came into the world kicking and screaming, and as her father often says jokingly, "You haven't changed since!" Lily's father is allergic to dogs, so when she was born they only had two cats, but that was just fine with her. Lily often spent her time pulling their tails and tormenting them, all the while thinking they enjoyed it.
When she was born, Lily already had an older sister by nearly two years, named Petunia. The two children never really got along well, probably because Lily jumped into everything she did, and Petunia was much more cautious. In her childish mind, Lily disliked Petunia for being so cautious, but sometimes she was forced to play with her when she got too bored. There were also other children on the block that both Evans daughters played with, but Lily was quite good at making her own games, too. Apparently, Lily’s mother loved the idea of naming her daughters after beautiful flowers. Marie Evans worked as a receptionist for a Muggle law firm in London, but she quite her job after her second daughter was born to be a stay-at-home mother. Lily’s father, Rawling Evans, owned and still owns to this day, his own publishing company, and he is an avid writer.
Growing up, Lily was a completely normal child in a middle-class family. She had no idea that the wizarding world existed, although there were some clues. Once, when Lily was about four years old, she fell nearly twenty feet out of a tree and didn’t even get a scratch. Another time, Lily was playing with a caterpillar on her front porch, when she accidentally squished it with her foot. The little girl was extremely upset, and after she cried about it for several minutes, she picked up the dead caterpillar to bury it, when it simply scurried right out of her hand and back into the grass. There were several other instances that made Lily’s parents wonder about her, but they didn’t get an answer to the mysteries until she was eleven years old.
In the July after she turned eleven years old, Lily received a letter delivered by a real live owl in the middle of the day. The letter was from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, informing her that she was a witch and she had been accepted at the school of magic. Naturally, Lily was overjoyed, and her parents were just as thrilled to learn that their daughter had magical powers. They went all out on buying her books and supplies, and of course, a wand. Lily’s wand ended up being 10 ¼ inches, made of willow, swishy and excellent for Charm work.
Lily Evans charged into Hogwarts with enthusiasm, ready to learn magic and become a witch. After a few moments consideration on the part of the Sorting Hat, Lily was placed into Gryffindor. This suited her just fine, considering she always made friends easily and didn’t mind introducing herself to people other than those she sat with on the train. When she started her classes, Lily found that she could easily keep up with the coursework, probably because she loved to read so much. She constantly read her textbooks, which some considered strange, but Lily was absolutely fascinated by them, coming from a Muggle family and all. Some of them amazement faded after first year, but Lily has never stopped loving Hogwarts. Now she is in her seventh year, and soon she will be an adult out in the wizarding world. Lily plans to be very successful, but at the moment, she just wants to enjoy her final year at Hogwarts.
ABOUT YOU Name: Lily Years of Experience: 3 Sample Post: It had taken a long, hard night of thinking for Jenny to decide that she was coming to the rave. It was the biggest social event of the year, and before this year, every year she'd gone it had been with Jimmy Fisher. The moment that thought entered her mind she forced it away again. Although some people might think otherwise, Jenny Maxwell was determined not to waste her life thinking about Jimmy and Talon. Of course, maybe just by following through with that vow she was doing that very thing. It was all very confusing. Sometimes she felt like she wasn't grieving enough, and she felt guilty, like it was an insult to their memory not to think about them. It was then that she would pull her covers up over her head and cry for hours. And despite all of these thoughts she'd been having, it had only been a couple weeks since the deaths of Jimmy and Talon. Jenny couldn't believe that, really, when she thought about it. It seemed like a lifetime. She asked herself, how could it be possible that it was less than a month ago? Years had passed for her in that short time. So, Jenny's first thought was that there was no way she could go to the rave. How could she possibly go to a party where there would be drinking and dancing, and have it be all right? But her second thought was that maybe it would be good for her. Actually, that was her mother's opinion, but Jenny kind of agreed with it. But she did feel incredibly guilty, nonetheless. She couldn't help but to wonder what Jimmy or Talon were thinking... wherever they were, if they were somehow still in existence, somewhere...
The rave didn't have a definite starting time, but Jenny didn't want to go to early. It was never cool to be the first one there and just sort of hover around awkwardly waiting for somebody to arrive. And then when the second person got there, they would be wondering what on earth you were doing there all alone. It was amazing that Jenny could still have these thoughts, thoughts that she would have had when everything was normal. Well, life had to go on. With a sigh, Jenny stood in front of her full-length mirror, in her pajamas with her hair wet from just getting out of the shower. It was eight o'clock. She still had plenty of time to get ready; she just had to decide what to wear and what to do with her hair. Jenny had already decided that she wasn't going to bring anything. There would be plenty of alcohol there, and she wasn't even sure she was going to drink. That probably wouldn't be the best thing for her right now. Jenny had a feeling that if she so much as touched any alcohol, she would drink until she passed out. Then again, that might be nice. It would be an escape. Kind of like the drugs she had at home, almost gone. Jenny hadn't brought them. If she felt like doing anything of that sort tonight, there would be plenty go around, and she was sure people would be willing to share. Jenny's thoughts made her feel unclean, ashamed. She had never done anything like that before. It wasn't who she was. But hey, things changed.
Jenny decided not to dress up for the rave. At all. After all, who did she have to impress? Nobody, so she just decided to go with comfort. In her favorite dark 7 jeans and a white blouse, she at least didn't feel too casual. But there was no way she was going to wear a dress. Jenny decided on just blow-drying her hair and curling it a bit. It would look fine down, and she had no time to do anything else to it. So a little after ten, Jenny said good-bye to her parents and headed for the library. As she pulled into the parking lot, Jenny remembered the first time she had been shown the secret bookshelf that led to the ultimate party area: the tunnels. It had been something magic and dangerous and thrilling back then, when she was only twelve. It hadn't been for a couple years that she really started coming to the parties. And it was only last year that she started coming with her parents' permission. Jenny walked into the library and headed to the back left corner. Once she stepped inside the passage the sounds of the party hit her. Music pulsed and there was no shortage of shouting and laughing. It sounded like a typical rave, only it was huge. It was the back-to-school rave, the biggest social event of the year. For some reason, Jenny started feeling a little nervous. Well, she did have reason to be. She felt sort of... revealed, coming to the rave so soon after the funerals. But people probably wouldn't even pay attention, she consoled herself. They were here to have fun, weren't they?
Rounding the corner, the party scene came into view. It was nothing she hadn't seen before. Jenny walked around the edges of the room, trying to be inconspicuous. She was itching for a glass in her hand. It was one of those weird feelings where when you came to a party and everybody was drinking, you just felt like an idiot if you were standing there empty-handed. But she didn't need anything. Not yet. Jenny headed over to a corner and took a seat at some sort of sofa that looked like it had been through the mill. Her eyes roved the dance floor, searching for somebody she could talk to, although she wasn't sure if she wanted to find anyone. Other: blackboard [/blockquote]
