ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Annie Penelope Walker Age: 26 Gender: Female Class: Charms | Head of Gryffindor Celebrity: Reese Witherspoon
Facial Properties: Inherited from her mother, Annie has thick and slightly wavy light-blond hair that she has never dyed, nor has any need to. Although it has been cut short before, up to her ears, Annie prefers her hair to be about at her shoulders. Her hairstyle changes from day to day. Sometimes Annie just gets out of the shower and simply and lets her blond locks fall as they will. When she does this, they usually stay straight, more or less, but sometimes there is a bit of a wave in there. Annie also enjoys putting her hair up out of her face, but she doesn't like strict-looking tight buns or anything like that. Annie certainly has a lot of fun with her hair, and her mother, being a Muggle hair stylist, helps her out as well.
Fortunately for her, Annie has very clear, fair skin. Unless she is very stressed, such as when she is feeling very pressured, there is rarely a pimple to be seen blemishing her face. That might be due to the fact that she washes her face every morning and every night, and generally keeps herself stress-free. But part of it is very obviously genetic. Annie is the spitting image of her mother at her age, or so she's been told. There is a very obvious resemblance between them, whereas the only thing Annie inherited from her father are her broad shoulders and big feet. Annie has large, green-blue eyes starred with lashes several shades darker than her hair. Apart from a small amount of brown eyeliner and mascara, Annie rarely wears any make-up.
Physique: Annie is an overall beautiful girl, or so she's been told. She doesn't think of herself as exceptionally pretty, but she does have enough self-esteem to take a compliment. Standing at the height of about 5'7, Miss Walker is a little taller than average, but she doesn't mind those extra couple inches she has on her mother when they get into an argument, which they still do, even though she is twenty-six years old. Occasionally Annie will wear shoes with slight heels, which gives her another inch or so. Unlike some girls, she doesn't mind being tall. In fact, she rather likes it, especially if she's feeling like she really needs to look down on somebody. Who would want to be a little tiny girl only five feet tall? Annie doesn't like to take any kind of crap from anyone, and her height certainly helps her maintain that.
Personality: You know those people who don't really seem to trust anybody unless they've known them for ten years? Annie is one of those people. Even when you have known her forever, you have to earn her trust one step at a time. Annie doesn't like to rely on anybody apart from herself, which basically means that she trusts very few people. She has a few good friends that she will talk to and tell her secrets to, but other than that, she keeps many things to herself. Annie is very headstrong, and many have not hesitated to call her so, sometimes affectionately, and sometimes frustratedly. Either way, it is very true. She is "as stubborn as a mule," as her father used to say fondly about her. Once Annie has her mind set on something, you can be sure she will achieve her goal, like it or not.
Annie has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor, which irritates many people, but she doesn't really mind. Sometimes her sarcasm goes straight over peoples' heads, which amuses Annie even more. Annie is extremely clever and intelligent, which means that she actually has the brains to back up the witty things she often says. She enjoys people who can come up with quick replies to her wordplay, and gets rather bored with people who don't. Now, it might sound like Annie has anything but the qualities of a good professor, but for some reason, it works out. Annie can relate to the kids she teaches, and she treats them as her equals, not her inferiors. Many of her students are very impacted by her, in one way or another. Some hate her, some admire her, and most respect her. There is sort of an understanding between Annie and her students; if they respect her, she will respect them.
Most teachers at Hogwarts are much, much older than Annie Walker, which means that they are infinitely more wise. But Annie is young, and because of this, she has new ideas in her mind, and she thinks outside the box. It is because of this that she makes a good teacher. Students are sometimes fascinated at what goes on in that mind of hers, and sometimes they have no idea. If she were a Muggle, Annie frankly might be considered just a tiny bit crazy. Not because of her actions, but because of her thoughts, and how she shares them. She could almost be an inventor, with all of her ideas.
For a teacher, Annie is very laid back. She doesn't enforce the rule that students have to call her "Professor Walker," even though they often do from habit. Annie's classes aren't strict, but she does expect students to listen to her and show her respect, and because they do respect her, she often has some of the most well-behaved classes. Annie dislikes doing much reading and work out of the textbooks, so her classes are often doing hands-on work. In her opinion, they learn much better that way, and it stimulates them so that they actually want to learn. Another thing that makes her a good teacher is that Annie is naturally very funny. Simple as that. Just the way she says certain things amuses people, especially her students. And humor must make a teacher seem more human, but it only earns her more respect.

History: Annie was born in Campo Bom, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on December 6. Although born in Brazil, she is of Swedish, German, and Irish descent. Her father, Carrick Walker, was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Her mother, Abigail, was born in a small town in Germany south of Berlin, and she was the one with Swedish blood. The two of them met in Brazil twenty years ago, and stayed there after the birth of their daughter four years later. Carrick was at the time already pursuing his career in the Ministry of Magic as a Head of Department of Magical Games and Sports. Abigail Walker's career as a singer was just kicking off, and grew greatly over the next few years due to the fact that Muggles enjoyed her music too. The Walker family did not move to London until their daughter was about four years old, so she does have vague memories of living in Brazil.
Buying a medium-sized house in the outskirts of London, the Walkers were already hoping that their daughter would attend Hogwarts, since they had both gone to the school. Already Annie had given them a few hints that she was indeed magical. There was one time when she threw a huge temper tantrum because her parents wouldn't buy her a toy, and she broke a shelf in one of the stores without touching it. She wasn't even three years old at the time, and luckily it was a wizarding shop, or else there might have been some suspicion on the part of the Muggles. After that, Carrick and Abigail Walker were perfectly sure that their daughter wasn't a Squib. And although they were looking forward to her getting a letter from Hogwarts, they wouldn't mind her going to Beauxbatons, either.
When she turned eleven, Annie did indeed get a letter of acceptance from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She went out with her parents and bought all her supplies with gusto. All of the them were very excited, and when she left for school, Annie wasn't the least bit apprehensive or sad to be leaving home, although she would miss her parents. She was only excited. The train ride to Hogwarts was one of Annie's favorite parts of the whole seven-year journey. She loved watching the scenery go by and change from peaceful green meadows with grazing sheep to dark and mysterious wilderness. Hogwarts Castle itself wasn't the least bit disappointing, either. Annie couldn't believe it when she got her first glimpse of the castle.
Throughout her years at Hogwarts, Annie got good grades, but she wasn't the top of her class. Even though she didn't get top marks in everything, many teachers were impressed with her and a few thought that she might do better in Ravenclaw. Annie didn't know she wanted to be teacher until she was twenty years old, after she'd already graduated from Hogwarts. Up until that point she had been a photographer for the Daily Prophet, but it was then that she went and applied for a job at Beauxbatons. She was accepted and taught for a year, but now she is beginning a new post at Hogwarts, and she couldn't be more excited.
Resume: Annie attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for seven years as a Gryffindor student. After she graduated, she decided that she wanted to become a teacher, but first she went to Beauxbatons. She taught Charms there for a year, and the staff was very impressed with such a young woman, and how she made an impact on the students. And although she loved teaching the girls at the Academy, Miss Walker found that she desperately wanted to be back at Hogwarts, so she went and visited Dumbledore. Fortunately for her, she secured the position of Charms Professor. Now Annie is about to begin her first year as a teacher at Hogwarts, and she couldn't be more excited. She even knows some of her colleagues from back when they were in school.
ABOUT YOU Name: Call me Allie... and I also play Lily! Years of Experience: 3 Sample Post: "Of course it's true," Lily said to Hailey with a laugh, referring to Bellatrix. There was no doubt that many other people felt the same. "But still, don't let one of the teachers hear you saying that." Once again, she glanced up at the staff table, hoping he would start soon. It wouldn't be pleasant for her stomach to give a loud rumble in the middle of everything, and she was so hungry that it just might be a possibility. Lily's eyes caught movement, and she glanced over in time to see somebody join them that she would rather not be in the company of. James Potter. "Potter," she said shortly, acknowledging him. Many didn't understand why Lily disliked Potter so much, but to her it was obvious. He was cocky, stuck-up, and insanely self-absorbed. All of those things put together drove her crazy. In fact, she was vaguely surprised that he hadn't made some comment yet that made her want to slap him. Oh well, she was sure she had plenty to look forward to during her last year at Hogwarts.
Rolling her eyes at Hailey's comment, Lily muttered to her friend, "Why did you have to sit with Remus?" It wasn't Remus that Lily disapproved of. In fact, she admired the fact that he actually cared about his schoolwork and his future, unlike his friends. But wherever one of the Marauders was, the others would be soon to follow, and that meant Potter. Lily knew full well that Hailey was on quite good terms with all of them, and if she was going to be her friend she would just have to put up with their company. But that didn't mean she had to like it. Lily was just starting to get impatient, not to mention incredibly hungry, when Dumbledore stood up and the noise in the hall fell to near-silence. Everybody respected Dumbledore, or at least, almost everybody. Lily noticed with disgust that several Slytherins were carrying on their conversations, clearly not thinking the Headmaster worthy of their attention. After they sang the school song, Lily looked up at Dumbledore as he began to speak.
Lily hung on to every word of Dumbledore's speech. It was clearly very different from the rest of his start-of-term speeches. The moment they had finished singing the school song, she knew that he would be about to say something serious. Miss Evans listened closely, not wanting to miss anything the Headmaster had to say. When it was over, she turned wordlessly to the others at her table. She didn't notice that the plates had filled with food. A frown creased her brow. "Dumbledore's afraid that there's something more to all this..." She bit her lip, nodding at Hailey's input. "If Dumbledore's worried, then so am I." Suddenly she wasn't all that hungry anymore. But then Hailey put on a smile and tried to lighten the conversation, and Lily sighed, knowing there was no point in ruining the start-of-term feast. After all, Dumbledore was up there digging into his dinner. Why shouldn't she?
Picking up her spoon, Lily answered Hailey's question with a vague, "It was... nice." Her summer really hadn't been all that eventful, apart from her trip to Spain. That had been interesting, but she was sure that not everyone wanted to her about it, so she kept it to herself. Trying to get rid of the thoughts that were now spinning around in her head, Lily began to eat silently.
