How did you find us? Google search What about ISS inspired you to join? I really liked that the members are so active, and the storylines seem promising. Do you have any suggestions for us? Nothing yet, really, but I just thought I’d let you know that I was looking through the accepted character applications, and the “Other” section of Lily Evans’s application doesn’t say “Removed by staff”.

About the Character- -
Name: Lucius Malfoy Age: 17 Gender: Male Year: 7th Face Claim: Boyd Holbrook
Canon or Original? Canon
Facial Properties: Lucius has an oval-shaped face with a distinct jaw line that ends in a rather pointed chin. His face is usually clean-shaven, as he dislikes the feel of stubble. In keeping with his tidy appearance, his smooth, pale blond hair is always neatly combed. It’s thicker than it looks, though, and silky to the touch. His intelligent gray eyes are set beneath defined eyebrows that are just a shade darker than the rest of his hair. Evenly placed between his eyes is a thin blade of a nose, a trait he inherited from his mother. His skin is naturally quite pale, but due to hours of practicing Quidditch out in the sun, Lucius has now developed a slight tan that lends him a healthier appearance. Thin lips and angular cheekbones complete the aristocratic features for which the Malfoy heir is well known.
Physique: Tall and lean, Lucius cuts a distinctly Malfoy profile. Years of training have given him nearly perfect posture, but he occasionally slouches when no one important is looking. Despite being less than muscular, Lucius nevertheless has a talent for outdoor sports, namely Quidditch. Not even his teammates know about his not-quite-impressive physique, because he prefers to remain clothed in front of others. His back is lined with scars that he is careful not to let anyone see, the product of a few isolated incidents of corporal punishment gone too far. When he isn’t wearing his school robes, he dons expensive, luxurious clothing, courtesy of his father’s sizable bank account.
Personality: Arrogant to the core, Lucius has always believed in his own superiority as a pureblooded wizard. He takes great pride in his pureblood heritage, and he dislikes the thought of “dirty blood” tainting the magical bloodlines. Like his parents, he thinks that magic should not be used by those from a non-magical background. He detests associating closely with Muggles or Muggle-borns, and he wouldn’t dream of consorting with “lesser” magical beings. He believes that people from the old wizarding families are the only people worth knowing, and he frequently looks down his rather sharp nose at those he considers beneath him. His views are very much in line with those of the Dark Lord, a wizard who does not hide his contempt for Muggles. The Dark Lord is rapidly gaining power, and Lucius has decided to support him in his efforts to bring back the great Salazar Slytherin’s ideals. However, Lucius is very careful to present a less controversial attitude in front of those in positions of authority who may not agree with his views.
Lucius’s mind is always working, trying to find ways to turn any situation to his advantage. He hates for others to get the upper hand over him because he likes to be in control at all times. Calculating and manipulative, he has the ability to lie through his teeth to get what he wants. He is not above making threats to get his way, as long as there is no one around to stop him. He presents a good face to his professors, but those in his circle of friends know that he can be a bit of a bully.
Lucius doesn’t advertise it, but he does have quite a competitive streak. Throughout his whole life, he has faced tremendous pressure to be perfect, or at the very least, to present himself as if he were perfect. He strives for excellence in just about everything he does, especially his schoolwork, because he sees no reason for someone of his magical background to be bested by anyone of Muggle parentage.
Notorious for his cruel streak, Lucius takes pleasure in laughing at the misfortune of others and rubbing their noses in it. Well-versed in the art of belittling others, Lucius never hesitates to put people in their place. Over the years, he has developed a talent for making biting remarks designed to aggravate their target, often someone who does not have the aptitude to fight back. His favorite targets are poor people and Muggle-borns.
Lucius has trained himself to keep his cool when provoked, but his temper can flare up quickly if an attack is aggressive enough. Crossing Lucius Malfoy is a very bad idea, as anyone who has ever done it knows quite well. Lucius is fond of revenge, and he almost certainly has the ability to carry out whatever threats he makes.
Lucius absolutely loathes being vulnerable in any way. He does not often appear outwardly emotional because he doesn’t like for people to use his own feelings against him, even though he very often does the same thing to them. He prefers to keep most people at a distance because the thought of letting others get close to him makes him uneasy. He tends to play things close to the vest, sharing his deeper thoughts and feelings with only a select few.
So far, Lucius hasn’t been as susceptible to the love bug as some of the other students at Hogwarts. Since his fourth year, he’s been engaged in a series of casual flings with girls in his House (all purebloods, of course), but he’s never developed very strong feelings for any particular girl. Lately, however, he’s had more than just a passing interest in the lovely Narcissa Black, who intrigues him in a way that makes him thoroughly uncomfortable. He doesn’t yet know—pardon, hasn’t yet decided—where he stands with her, but he is determined to find out before his final year at Hogwarts comes to a close.

History: Born into the wealthy and prestigious Malfoy family, Lucius has led a privileged life in the wizarding community. Since he was a baby, he has always been provided with everything he’s ever needed. His parents never hesitated to obtain the very best for their son, who would one day inherit the Malfoy estate and become the head of the family. In his early childhood, Lucius was quite spoiled. However, as soon as the boy displayed his first signs of magic, his parents began the long process to mold him into a proper wizard, enforcing disciplinary measures as they deemed fit.
An only child, Lucius received excessive attention from his parents, both good and bad. Every accomplishment was greatly rewarded, while the slightest mistakes were punished severely. However, as long as he obeyed his parents’ rules, he tended to get whatever he asked for, and if he followed his strict daily schedule, he was allowed more free time in which to do things he enjoyed. Beyond the normal childhood education he received, young Lucius was also taught how to comport himself in society. From his father, he learned the various ways of how to present himself when socializing with different groups of people. From his mother, he learned the subtle art of social manipulation, particularly how to draw the loyalty of others to himself.
As a child, Lucius was quite fond of terrorizing the house-elves, “lesser” beings whose feelings were inconsequential to him. (In later years, he began to vent any frustrations he had by throwing objects at or kicking the house-elves, who had no choice but to tolerate their young master’s ire.) Other things he enjoyed in his youth were reading, collecting Dark magic artifacts, and attending Quidditch games. Occasionally, the Malfoys would arrange visits with other pureblood families that had children Lucius’s age. The one activity Lucius particularly enjoyed doing with the others was playing Quidditch, a sport at which he eventually became quite proficient.
Every once in a while, not often, only when he was in a tremendously bad mood, Lucius’s father would get terribly drunk. When that happened, Lucius would undoubtedly be called to his father’s presence and forced to endure horrible beatings. His mother always left the room, refusing to watch but never interfering. Afterward, when Lucius lay in too much pain to move, the house-elves, sent by his mother, would arrive to treat his wounds. Neither of his parents ever spoke of these incidents after they had occurred, and Lucius quickly learned to keep quiet about them, lest he incur his father’s further wrath.
At age 11, Lucius received his acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a completely expected yet highly anticipated event. Upon arrival at the school, he was Sorted into Slytherin House, like all of his family members before him. Already acquainted with several of his pureblood classmates by the time he entered Hogwarts, Lucius quickly made a number of social connections with his fellow Slytherins that he thought might be useful in the future. He is well-respected in Slytherin House due to his wealth and pureblood status. In his first few years at Hogwarts, Lucius emerged as one of the top students in his year, due to his natural intelligence and exceptional magical ability. His best, and therefore favorite, subjects are Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Potions. Lucius has continued to do quite well for himself in school, gaining good enough marks to warrant entry into several N.E.W.T.-level classes.
Sample Post:
She missed him.
Narcissa lay awake on her soft, plush bed, unable to sleep. Annoyed with herself for not being able to stop thinking about her fiancé, she rolled over and closed her eyes.
Curse that man for making her wait!
Lucius had proposed a year ago, and the two should have been married by now. But a few months ago, he’d pushed back the wedding date, saying he wanted to “take care of some business” before they got married and began to live together. So, she’d waited, spending her time visiting old school friends, shopping in Diagon Alley, thinking about wedding details, and the like.
But now that her sister Bellatrix was getting married, Narcissa refused to wait much longer. She really wished Lucius hadn’t postponed the wedding at all, but she supposed it was unavoidable. Business came before pleasure, after all. She convinced herself that it was probably beneficial for him to take care of these things now to ensure their financial and social future.
Besides, even now, there were too many wedding details still left unresolved.
Still… Was it wrong for her to miss the man she loved? Was it wrong to want to have already begun sharing her life with him? It was certainly irritating to have this sort of dependency upon another person, but she couldn’t help it. He was just so undeniably… Lucius.
When would he be back?
A week ago, Lucius had come to tell her that he was going away for a short time, but he hadn’t told her exactly when he would return. He’d mentioned something about meeting a “business contact” in… Roumania, was it?
Narcissa honestly didn’t know what kind of work Lucius was involved in. She wasn’t even sure if Lucius needed to work at all, but she supposed the Malfoy fortune must come from somewhere. But… Roumania, of all places. Why her fiancĂ© would choose to work there instead of spend time with her here was beyond her.
Well, she thought haughtily, when he gets back, I’ll just have to make sure he regrets leaving me alone. She tried to satisfy herself with that thought and tried again to sleep.

Good application overall. Just one small problem with it. I noticed you're using a different face claim for Lucius than the one that was established for him at the canon list. This isn't highly illegal, or anything, but in the list, it specifies that if you're planning on making a change, you have to notify a staff member first, specifying your reasons as to why you think you could switch said character's face claim. In this case, both of us are rather really fond of Boyd Holbrook to play him, but if you still want Toby Hemingway, then please feel free to PM this account to make your case. We're pretty reasonable people (;

Oh, sorry , I did know about that rule, but I got a little confused about the order of things. I just thought I'd write it down and I was going to ask to change the face claim after I found out whether I got accepted. I'll take care of it.
