How did you find us? My darling friend Jessie introduced me to it. What about ISS inspired you to join? It’s completely fantastic. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it before. It’s so professional. Also, it’s pretty [the layouts…amazing!] I missed writing lots too. So. Yes. Do you have any suggestions for us? I’ve been here for a few months already and seriously…it’s fantastic. I don’t have a single complaint.

About the Character- -
Name: Brody Nikolai O’Connor. Age: Fourteen, but his fifteenth birthday is over summer. Gender: Male. Year: 4th. Face Claim: Shia LaBeouf. Canon or Original? Original.
Facial Properties:
Brody’s face shape is a funny mix between round and square. His hairline forms a perfectly straight line and his temples and cheeks cascade down at the slightly angle into his long jawline. Brody’s jaw is prominent and round, with the tiniest dimple in the very center of it. His ears are long, but don’t stick out excessively. The bridge of his nose is on the wider side and even comes with a little bit of a bump. It’s bulbous on the tip. His lips are incredibly nice - a bit on the poutier side. His teeth aren’t exactly perfect, but he has a cute smile. His eyes are almond shaped.
Brody is on the naturally tan side, with dark olive skin. It definitely helps that he spends a lot of his time outside, so he’s never even a shade past olive. His eyes are hazel, normally coming in at a funny color of greenish. He has brown hair, normally a shade somewhere between medium and dark. His eyebrows are thick but well tamed, and he has notoriously long eyelashes. He normally lets his facial hair grow a little scraggly before shaving it off. Brody’s skin is phenomenally clear for a boy his age, something he was blessed with from both his parents.
Physique:
Brody, like Amelia, was blessed with unnaturally long legs. That is, his legs were longer – proportionally – than the rest of him. He wasn’t necessarily gifted with long legs otherwise – he comes in just shy of 6 feet. He’s always been very active and loves being outside, but it would be safe to say that he was gifted with a speedy metabolism because he eats so much he’d have to work out just as much as an Olympic Swimmer. His arms aren’t huge, but they’re definitely muscley. He has decent abs, relatively defined but not overwhelming. He spends a lot of his time outside, playing sports, flying, and maybe even jogging. He loves working out if he can, but he’s not obsessive about it by any means.
Personality:
Brody is a bit on the quiet side. It’s not that he’s shy – he just chooses not to talk that much. He talks if he has something to say to someone, but generally he keeps to himself. He’s actually one of the most confident people he knows, never hesitating to do anything or say anything he feels necessary. Whether or not he’s an introvert or an extrovert…..,well, he’d be an “inextrovert” because he’s right smack dab in the middle. He loves to laugh with his friends, crack jokes, maybe go to some parties – but he treasures that time just as much as he loves spending time alone, reading or thinking. And yes, he loves to read, something a little out of the ordinary……
….. when three quarters of the male population at Hogwarts are all too busy having sex. Something Brody doesn’t really do. I mean, yeah, he likes girls. He likes girls a lot, and he even will go out of his way to show interest in a girl. But he doesn’t just sleep around. No, he’s a bit more of a romantic, and he enjoys just hanging out and…you know, talking with his love interests rather than getting in their pants. He’s a decent man and holds high respect for the girls he dates, and won’t do anything too physical until he knows there’s really something there, and it’s not just physical attraction. He loves showering girls with gifts, flowers, and praise, to let them know he appreciates them and will go out of his way to help make their day better. For some strange reason, a lot of girls tend to have little crushes on him………
………probably because Brody has always been very keen to catching on to people’s emotions. He pays attention a lot to the way people interact and reads people’s body language well. This makes him a little bit judgmental; when he sees people, he can’t help but make assumptions about what’s going on in their life based on their appearance [everything from their clothes to their facial expressions]. He doesn’t like hurting people’s feelings and generally goes out of his way to be sure his friends are happy. Brody is a people pleaser and doesn’t like when people are upset with him. He’s always empathetic and tries his hardest to put himself in other people’s shoes……
…..but that doesn’t always go over very well. If you cross the line with Brody, he can get carried away pretty quickly. He’s by no means violent, but if he feels the need to give someone a piece of his mind, he won’t hesitate. He’s protective of his family and friends, and if ever threatened, he will do anything and everything to keep them safe – even if that includes throwing some punches. He isn’t afraid to argue, either, something he’s always been rather talented at. And when he knows he’s right, he will do anything and everything he possibly can to make the person believe him, even if it includes researching to find a reliable source in the Library, and then showing them. He knows the Library very well…. ….because he spends an awful lot of time there. He loves learning, and he can make his way through a 1000 page book in a week, tops. He’s even read the Bible just for the hell of it – and he’s not even religious. He’s a junkie for learning and asks more questions than a human should possibly be able to have the capacity to wonder about. This makes him a bit of a pain in class because he’s constantly raising his hand, always wanting more information. On top of that, his memory is like a steel trap; he remembers basically anything and everything he experiences and reads. His recall is speedy and he’s almost always done with tests first in class.
Likes: + Girls. For obvious reasons. + Sports. He likes being active. + Playing the Guitar. His father introduced guitar to him when he was pretty young, and he never really got over the beautiful music it produced. + Music. His parents turned him into a bit of a music junkie, whether it’s muggle music or wizarding music. He likes lots of ‘weird’ stuff. + Thunderstorms. He’s always had a bit of a fixation with thunderstorms; it’s actually a dream of his to see a tornado up close and personal. + Flying. He loves the feeling being on a broom gives himthatwasn’tmeanttosounddirty + Defense Against the Dark Arts. He’s interested in becoming an Auror. + Books. Sweet Jesus, barely a day goes by without Brody reading. He loves it. It’s an escape from real life. And he loves learning, so he won’t hesitate to pick up a non-fiction book either. + Art & Photography. His father always had a bit of an artistic talent, and Brody picked that trait up. He loves to paint, and sometimes tries his hand at sketching. Most of his art is abstract and bright. On the other hand, he picked up his knack for photography from his mother, who always enjoyed doing it in her spare time. + Class. Funny, isn’t it? He finds a majority of everything at school he learns at school legitimately interesting. + Traveling. Brody has this funny little mindset that he’s going to be a world traveler the minute he gets out of school. + Food. Brody eats more than most guys. Which is saying a lot, because most boys have completely monstrous appetites. For breakfast he generally eats seven eggs, four pieces of toast, a heaping portion of hashbrowns and four pieces of bacon. And that’s BREAKFAST. His smallest meal. + Doodling. Slightly mentioned earlier in the Art & Photography section, but Brody’s parchments are barely legible because he doodles everywhere. In between the lines of writing, on the sides, on the backs of papers…everywhere. For some absurd reason, he trained himself to concentrate well while doodling in his early days in elementary school, and it stuck. If you want him to concentrate, you must put a piece of paper in front of him that he can draw on. It’s rather strange, really. + Arguing. Okay, he’s not the sort of person who randomly starts up completely meaningless and pointless fights with someone. But he does love having the occasional intelligent…discussion about things. He’s definitely not afraid to stand up for what he knows is right, and will do so without hesitating. + Astronomy. It’s one of his favorite classes….he loves looking at the night sky. Dislikes: – People who use the word love too much. Generally speaking, when teenagers ooze about how much they love their boyfriend 0hmaigaaaaaaaawwddd, Brody has to control the urge to hit them over the head with a 10 pound dictionary, and hopefully knock some sense into them. – Prejudice. This is something that really irks him. People are people. Plain and simple. – War. Yeah, he never understood what the big deal with it was. – Routine. He likes to lead an interesting life, not something predictable and stagnant. – Loose morals and ideals. Another thing he hates: Ignorance. Maybe, if you’re a citizen of a tiny, impoverished country where you’re forced to use the newspapers you can’t even read because you were ill-educated from the very beginning as CARPETING, do you have an excuse to not be able to form ideas and morals. He thinks everyone should have an opinion about everything. – Grammatical errors. He’s always been a bit of a stickler about it; he nearly cringes when people use the word ‘good’ instead of well. He can catch basically every single grammatical mistake you throw at him, and makes a fantastic essay editor. – Being alone. Yeah, he loves alone time. In fact, he spends a lot of his time alone, in the library or on the grounds. But…alone? With no one to be by his side? No friends? No family? No one to secure his sanity? He wouldn’t be able to handle that. – Disloyalty. Brody thinks that once you form a bond with someone, you shouldn’t break it. He can’t stand back-stabbers. – People who think they’re better than others. He thinks everyone should have respect for everyone, no matter what, until another person gives them a good reason to lose respect for another. Even then, he still believes in second chances. – Tactlessness. After a few bad experiences as a child – one of his closest friends had a mild case of Down Syndrome – Brody gets really worked up when people mock people who have disabilities/mental disorders. He thinks most of the time, people are too busy laughing at what the person is doing to look at the big picture and realize what’s really happening. - Fakers. Cheats. Copiers. Anything of the sort. It’s not that difficult to come up with your own material. Yeah, if one of his friends didn’t have enough time to finish some homework, he’ll let them copy as long as they tweak some stuff so it atleast sounds original. But learning a someone else’s song and flaunting it as your own? Baaaad. Cheating in sports? Also bad. -Bad hygine. He doesn’t really like to be around people who…smell. He can’t stand going a day without a shower because then he just feels disgusting. Body odor isn’t exactly the greatest smell either, and Brody is definitely a cologne guy.
History:
When Amelia Belikov met Daniel O'Connor, she hardly expected she'd marry him. In fact, she didn't think she'd ever see him again. But their one night stand turned into a little bit more than that, to say the least.
Amelia was born in the Soviet Union to a General of the Red Army and his wife, a nurse. Growing up, Amelia was an only child and her parents were wealthy; they treated her well. She had a private instructor until she was seventeen, who educated her in everything imaginable, from languages to mathematics to world religions and the governments - or lack thereof - of obscure third-world countries. By the age of seven, she could look at a map and name nearly every single country. By the age of fifteen, she was fluent in Latin, Greek, German, French, English, Italian, and of course, her home language, Russian. She played piano and violin, and even sang. She was impressively curious from the start, with a funny little knack of remembering everything she read and saw. Sometimes her father teased her, calling her the Human Sponge. Learning wasn't her only passion, though; as soon as she could walk, her mother started her in Ballet lessons in Moscow, Russia. When she reached the age of 20, she became one of the Principal Ballerinas in the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, something she had been dreaming of since the age of five. Her parents were proud of her - her father especially. He'd always said before she was born that he wanted a boy, but when Amelia was born, he fell in love with her. He bragged about her every moment possible, and even took her along with him to many of the formal balls he was invited to, where Amelia even met the U.S.S.R.'s leader himself, Joseph Stalin.
Daniel came from a little bit of a different background. He was orphaned at the age of five after his parents were shot in a London Train Station. Lost and confused, five year old Daniel lived on the streets, pickpocketing and stealing to live until he turned ten. It was on his tenth birthday that his mentor and hero, Charlie, was caught by the police. Charlie was sixteen and he was the only person Daniel had. He tried to snatch some cake from the market, but the police were on him in a second. When the police put the handcuffs around Charlie's wrists and began taking him away, Daniel's emotions went completely out of control. He was screaming, crying, yelling, hollering...and then the steel handcuffs binding Charlie's wrists broke right in half. Daniel didn't know that was...weird. He just assumed the handcuffs were faulty. Later that night, a very peculiar man appeared to him, and told Daniel he was a wizard. Daniel was confused and didn't know what to do or say. The man offered Daniel a home. This made Daniel nervous - the streets had been his home for a few years and he knew them like the back of his hand...but having a home to live in and a family was something he'd always wanted. He agreed, and moved in with a Wizarding family in Ireland. They had three children: Charlotte, Margaux and Marcus. Margo and Marc were twins, and they were just a year older than he was. His new parents, John and Cynthia, were exactly what Daniel hoped for. They weren't overbearing, but they cared for him and supported him and educated him about the Wizarding World until he started school at Hogwarts. They treated him like a child of their own, which was something he needed after losing his parents and his only friend at an early age.
Amelia was touring with the ballet in London during Christmastime when she met Daniel. At that point in time, Daniel had moved out of his foster parents house, and was 23. Amelia was 21. Daniel worked at the theatre as a Janitor to earn extra money to pay for the apartment he was living in, even though he already worked at the Ministry. She had been talking with many people after the show in the Commons, so she was one of the last performers to finally leave...that's when she ran into Daniel. He was concerned about her walking around in the streets of London in the middle of the night all alone, and offered to escort her. They went to a bar for a while, and then back to Daniel's apartment...where things got ...interesting. She went back to the hotel the next morning. She didn't expect anything to come of her one night stand with that particularly charming English boy. She saw him a few more times at the theatre and every time they'd talk and never stop talking. She spent most of her nights with Daniel after that, going to his apartment. They'd sit on his floor with cups of tea and talk about everything, from their childhood to music to their parents to politics to what they wanted to do with their life. Daniel even opened up to her about Hogwarts, and how he was a wizard. Unfortunately, Amelia had to leave after a week. They said their goodbyes, realizing they would probably never see each other again.
It was two and a half months later Amelia realized she was pregnant. Amelia was torn. She knew there was always the option of aborting the child, but that was something she had always been against. She loved babies, and the concept of ever killing one because of her own selfishness seemed simply disgusting to her. But she was a principal ballerina in the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, and that wasn't some sort of position you could just have while you were carrying a small person inside of you. She'd have to take leave, for at least a year. Where would she get the money to support the baby, anyway? Her parents surely wouldn't approve of this. Her father would probably hunt Daniel down and kill him. Hell, her father would probably shun her. But she couldn't bring herself to do it. She was going to keep the baby. She was going to tell her parents. She would ask for their support. She didn't know what she would do about Daniel. When she told her parents, her mother burst out crying. Her father looked completely blank. It was like he had gone numb. They just sat there for what felt like an eternity, not saying a word. And finally her father said, "Who's the father?". That wasn't what Amelia hoped he would say. She thought for a moment, and told them the whole story. About how they met in London, and how they'd drank a little bit too much, had sex on the first night of meeting each other but then they talked all the other nights in a completely sober state and didn't mess around at all. There was more silence. Her mother was past tears at that point in time. "Are you going to tell him?" her mother finally asked. Now it was Amelia who was crying. "I don't know," was her reply as she stared blankly at the walls of her parents' estate, her childhood home. And that was the truth. She had no idea. Part of her wanted to show up in London one day and just tell him everything, about the baby, and how much she enjoyed being able to spend time with him. At that point in time, Amelia refused to say she liked him. She'd only known him for a week, and it would be incredibly stupid to say she liked him. Especially because he lived thousands of miles away on some stupid island. She would simply say she was curious about him. She wanted to get to know him better...which wasn't going to happen, because she wouldn't ever see him again. But the other part of her didn't want to muddle up Daniel's life with this whole baby thing. It would just make things confused and complicated, and what if they started living together, and she had the baby, and they ended up hating each other? She thought he would want to know, though. He was a decent, respectable man. He told her countless times in conversation that he loved children and couldn't wait to start a family of his own....but she imagined this wasn't exactly what he meant. So she left it alone. She pushed Daniel out of her thoughts. Her parents, although disgruntled, lovingly decided it was in the best interest of their daughter and their future grandchild to not disown Amelia. They said they would support her and the baby if they ever needed help. This greatly relieved Amelia, because for an entire month they had basically shunned her until they made their decision. She stayed at the ballet until the baby bump began showing, and finally told the Ballet's manager she would have to leave because she was pregnant. It broke her heart that she would have to leave the ballet, possibly for forever - who knew if she would ever be able to return, since she had a child. Ballet was her passion, it was all she knew. She hoped having a baby she loved would be able to fill the space.
The baby arrived, and it was a boy. She named him Brody Nikolai, after her grandfather. She fell in love with him immediately. She stayed at her parent's house, got all of her baby things in the spacy bedroom. They lived a comfortable life with her parents. As Brody got older, however, Amelia couldn't help but see how much he looked like his father. It brought back old memories, and she was curious. She couldn't stop wondering about how Daniel was. So she made the bold decision to go back to London for a week. Her mother would take care of the baby. She would stay with her cousins in their London apartment. She remembered exactly where Daniel lived, and if he didn't live there anymore, she'd come straight home. She went to London. She didn't do anything the first two days except hang out with her cousins, Felicity and Mikael. Felicity told her all about her fiancee, and how University was, and Mikael went on about his job in the Stock Market. But on the third day, she went back to Daniel's apartment. The funny thing was, she remembered more about the apartment than she could about the hotel the rest of the Ballet company had been living in that week a few years earlier. But Daniel...wasn't there. She asked the superintendent of the Apartment complex if he knew where Daniel had moved to...he had no idea. Amelia returned to her cousins' house, hope gone. But then Felicity introduced Amelia to her fiancee...and everything blew up right in her face. Amelia almost started crying on the spot. Or laughing hysterically. She might've screamed. But she controlled it. No, she had no idea who this man was. No idea. He wasn't the father of her child. The man her cousin was going to marry in December absolutely could not be the father of her baby. Ha. Felicity could never find out. By the look in Daniel's eyes, he remembered exactly who Amelia was. Neither of them showed it, though. They acted like they'd never met each other. Everything was cool. It was just grand. They played perfect strangers until Felicity and Mikael were both tipsy, and it was three in the morning. Time for Daniel to go back to his new apartment. Amelia offered to drive him home, and he willingly obliged. They got in the car, and everything came out. Daniel said he couldn't stop thinking about her after she left. Amelia admitted the same. He asked how she'd been. She said she was good. And then she told him about Brody, and how her parents shunned her for a few weeks, and how much the baby looked like him. Daniel was confused. He didn't know why Amelia didn't tell him. He couldn't understand it. He didn't understand. He was mad - completely enraged, and they got in an arguement that lasted over an hour. It hurt Amelia. The man she had known was different. He would never yell. That was just it, though - she formed false expectations about a man she barely knew. Eventually Daniel stepped out of the car, and Amelia drove back to her cousin's apartment. She was a wreck, crying all over the place, but she knew she'd have to get out of London immediately before she did something rash. She quietly packed her bags and left a note on the table saying that her grandmum on her father's side [therefore, not related to her cousins] was in the hospital and she needed to rush home immediately. She hopped in a cab and went to the airport and got on the next flight of Moscow.
She returned home, and didn't say much to her parents. They knew her well enough to know that if she wanted to talk about it, she would have. Life returned to normal; Brody grew older, Amelia returned to the ballet and began working there again. Her cousins' wedding was approaching and Amelia wondered whether or not her parents would go. Of course, she doubted they'd ever make the connection between the facts....the father's name was Daniel....Felicity's fiancee's name was Daniel....Amelia wasn't going to the wedding even though she and Felicity were the closest of cousins....Amelia had returned home from her trip to London incredibly upset. Her mother was always strangely observant and she prayed she wouldn't catch on. But December came and went; there was never a wedding. Eventually Amelia asked about it. Her mother told her that the wedding had been called off. She asked why. Her mother said Felicity's fiancee had left her. When those words came out of her mother's mouth, Amelia nearly dropped her cup of tea. Why did he leave her? When Felicity had been talking about him, it sounded like they were really in love; he had broken her heart. He broke Amelia's heart, and he broke Felicity's heart. She was angry. She felt bad for the poor woman Daniel was probably sleeping with now. That was all he was good for. Breaking hearts. Amelia pushed that dreadful man out of her mind and moved on with life. She never thought about him again, and even started occasionally dating men - nothing too serious, of course, she was still young and she had a child. There weren't that many men interested in a woman with a small child.
Daniel, on the other hand, broke up with Felicity and didn't date another woman. He broke up with Felicity in the first place because he realized there was something about Amelia his mind just kept wandering back to, and he didn't want to muddle things up by getting married. He knew he'd see her at family events, and he knew there would be thoughts in his head he wouldn't want to be there if he was married. He had to break it off. He didn't even want to imagine what sort of image Amelia had formed of him in her mind after she heard they weren't getting married - Daniel the manwhore was surely one of them - but he would wait it out. He'd wait until she wasn't hurting anymore. Hopefully he wouldn't wait too long, and show up too late to have a relationship with her. But that was what he wanted. So he worked. For two years, he worked, every single day, 16 hours a day. He worked on Christmas. He worked on New Years. He earned money, and put all of it into his bank account so he could support her and the baby. He'd just have to deal with it if she didn't want him. But he was going to try damn hard to win her back. She was all he thought about. And finally one day, he was ready. It took two years. Enough time for Amelia to push that horrible man he once was out of her mind. Hopefully she would forgive him for overreacting that one night in the car. Daniel packed his bags and left to Moscow. He knew it would probably take a while to find her - it was an awfully big city, and he didn't plan on using stalker techniques to find her. If she and him weren't meant to be, he wouldn't find her. Plain and simple. So every day from 9 in the morning until 9 at night, Daniel went to the park downtown Moscow and waited. Sometimes he'd get up, walk around a little bit. He'd normally bring bread to feed the pigeons, and a book incase he got bored. That was rare, though; Daniel always treasured alone time to just sit and think and watch people interact. After two weeks of waiting, Daniel finally found her. She was walking through the park with a small toddler – Brody, no doubt. The boy looked exactly like he did when he was young, even from far away. Daniel paced back and forth for a few moments, wondering what in the world he was going to say…what if she wouldn’t even talk to him? Thoughts muddled his brain, but there wasn’t anything he could do about that; he approached her. As he got closer, she made eye contact, and slowly began to realize the man who was approaching her. After a few steps, she turned right around and started walking away from him. “Amelia! Amelia, I need to talk to you,” Daniel called to her, almost desperately. She turned around slowly, and gave him a piece of her mind. Understandable. “I just need you to hear me out,” Daniel pleaded when Amelia was done. He told her his side of the story. Everything. From all that money he’d been saving in case she decided to give him a second chance, to why he broke up with Felicity. He told her he didn’t expect her to make any decisions yet, and gave her the address of where he was staying. And then he was gone.
Three days later, Amelia showed up at the apartment. She said she was going to give him a second chance. Daniel stayed in Moscow and got a job. Amelia resumed her position as Principal Ballerina at the Ballet. She and Daniel dated for a year and a half and were married. Brody took on to his daddy well. It didn’t take much - all Daniel had to do was whip out his guitar and play the six year old a song, and they were in love already. Shortly after Daniel and Amelia got married, they moved to Paris, France. Amelia began working at Paris’s Ballet, and Daniel got a part-time job at the Ministry as an Auror. Father’s Day that year, Amelia announced she was pregnant their second child. This baby was a girl they named Elizabeth Jane, first name after a character in a novel Amelia was particularly fond of, and middle name, the book’s author. Brody was nine when Elizabeth was born.
Because Amelia was single until Brody was around six, she and him had a really strong bond. When Brody was growing up, Amelia would do anything to entertain him, whether it was dance around the room or play violin or piano or sing or fly him around in her arms. When he started school at age four, he wouldn’t stop crying because he didn’t want to be separated from her. It took him a while to get used to being away from his mother, but everyday after school he would come flying out the doors and into his mother’s arms. They’d walk back home together everyday from school, and Amelia would ask him about his day. She kept him active, and constantly outside, hoping he would grow to be a strong, active boy. She almost considered putting him in ballet, but her father said that would be hard on a boy and might emasculate him in years to come. Brody loved going outside, and especially loved going in the woods at his grandparents’ estate. He and Amelia would take walks out there when he was young and she would show him all the interesting bugs and tell him about the trees. He was completely fascinated by it. By the time first grade rolled around, Amelia realized she had quite the little explorer on her hands. He was just like her when she was younger – always looking for something to learn about. They must’ve went to the library three times a week, and Amelia had to put aside a good hour or two for bedtime reading because he’d always ask for her to read more books.
It wasn’t until Daniel came around that Brody was interested in sports. For Brody’s seventh birthday, Daniel bought him a football [soccer ball]. It was a game he always enjoyed playing as a child, and hoped his son would like it to. They would go to the park and play constantly while Amelia was at the Ballet practicing – the perfect opportunity for Daniel to get to know his little son better. Daniel, who had always loved singing and playing the guitar, would play for Brody at night sometimes before he went to bed. About three weeks after Daniel and Amelia were ‘dating’, Brody started calling him Daddy. It took his parents aback at first, but it wasn’t surprising; Daniel was the first male figure prominent in his life since…well, ever. Daniel’s influence played a big part in Brody’s life. He loved, loved, loved to play football, and always hung out with his friends and played at the park. This was something that carried over into his summers back from Hogwarts – he would come back from ‘boarding school’ in South Africa and spend time with his Muggle friends, messing around and playing sports. Of course it was always annoying, coming back home and not being able to play Quidditch – another sport he loved, but playing football helped fill the gap.
Their move to France soon after the marriage was easier than his parents expected it would be on Brody. He made new friends easily, and they moved onto a large plot of land where he could explore. They had a pond, a creek, some woods and a big field for him to run around in. The house was comfortable – the perfect size for four people. They even had a guest room in case family visited. He was a happy little boy. School was a breeze for him – they even brought him up a grade because he wasn’t challenged enough. That grade was hard, though - one of his best friends was actually held back a year as he skipped forward, because they realized he had a slight case of Down Syndrome. Eventually, Amelia was pregnant again. The birth of Elizabeth came as a bit of a shock to Brody at first, but he caught on fast and constantly asked to hold her and help change her diaper. The age difference was a Godsend, because they weren’t too close in age that Brody would get jealous of all the attention she was getting. He actually understood that she needed his parents to take care of her because she was so small. Brody’s first experience with magic actually happened because of Elizabeth – her baby stroller started to roll away down a hill into a busy street, while his parents were inside a garage talking to their friends; Brody didn’t know what to do and started to panic, but the stroller just stopped rolling forward…and started slowly rolling back up the hill to where Brody was standing. By the time the stroller was halfway up the hill, his parents had run out of the garage because they heard him screaming. That was when Brody learned he would be a Wizard for sure, just like his Dad.
