ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Anette Baker Age: 17 Gender: Female Year: 7th Year Celebrity: Emmy Rossum
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties:
Framed by her long, gently waved, dark-auburn hair, Anette’s face could be described as plain, but pretty. Her eyes are the asset most people notice first. They’re larger than usual, and commonly seen with little or no eye makeup. Her eyelashes are naturally dark, as are her chocolate-brown eyes. Anette usually only uses natural-looking makeup, soft pinks and browns, which tend to compliment her skin. Her skin’s soft and pale, attributes she’s quite proud of. In contrast, she’s very self-conscience about her nose. She believes it to, in her own words, “look funny”, though she can’t quite place what it is about it that makes it so.
Physique:
Anette’s body is quite typical for a teenage girl. Though 5’ 5” and around 106 lbs, she gives the appearance of being quite curvy. She and her hips have a love-hate relationship, as sometimes she’s proud of her womanly figure, and other times she wishes they could just disappear. Most of what she has is muscle, though you’d have a hard time getting Anette to see that. Her chest is very typical for a girl her age, nothing extraordinary, but enough to fill out a good B cup. As for keeping fit, Anette absolutely hates to run, and will only do it when forced. Instead, she’ll usually end up doing a bunch of little exercises that she’s learned over the years.
Personality:
When you meet Anette for the first time, you certainly wouldn’t be that taken aback by her. To strangers, Anette usually comes off as shy, perhaps a little insecure. She hates meeting new people, but loves making new friends, so it’s more of a give-and-take thing for her. If put in a situation with people she’s never met before, Anette will probably just wander around a bit, maybe casually making a quiet joke by a group of people, but ultimately keeping to herself until someone works up the courage to introduce themselves to her. She gets very nervous in new situations, and tends to bite her nails obsessively.
Once that initial wall is passed, Anette can easily turn into the life of the party. Once she’s comfortable in a situation, she really opens up to people, joking around and being quite loud and pleasant. She loves to talk, but is also keen to listen. Anette likes to think that for all the time she spends talking about something, she needs to spend that same amount of time listening, as a sort of “payment” or an “it’s only fair” kind of retribution. She hates awkward silences, and will strike up another conversation if one is reached. Anette isn’t afraid to ask people questions, but usually is very careful not to insult or degrade people, though she‘s been known to tease quite a bit.
Thought she cares enough not to upset other people, she really doesn’t dislike many people either. It’s her belief that it’s not her business what someone else does or acts, so unless it directly affects her, she should stay out of it. If she does dislike you, it’s typically because of something you’ve done to one of her friends. Anette’s fiercely loyal to all of her good friends, but doesn’t care too much about the rest. She likes having the other people as “friends”, but isn’t nearly as loyal to them. If she witnesses something that she truly believes is wrong or immoral, she’ll tell you to stop. The smaller things she doesn’t care too much about.
Boys. Anette can’t get enough of them. She’s the self proclaimed “Queen of Flirtation”, and even though she’s had a few incidences of leading guys on, Anette means well. She hates it when people call her a tease, because that’s just the way she is. She can’t stand girls who purposely try and attract boys with the way they dress or what they’re willing to do. Anette flirts, but she never lowers her personal morals when doing so. She may pretend to be annoyed with it, but she loves a guy who’s self-assured. She likes it when, in her words, “the man wears the pants” in a relationship. She’s not exactly a damsel in distress herself, but hates to have to decide everything. Anette typically likes hanging out with guys more than she likes being with girls, simply because she hates drama with a passion.

History:
Anette Baker comes from a pureblood family, originating in the United States. Both her parents went at neighboring schools. Her mother, Julie Reis, who attended the Salem Witches Institute, and her father, Dave Baker, who attended the less-famous Albany Protestant. Since the two schools were quite close by wizarding school standards, they often had functions together, like dances or games. It was at one of these functions where they first met. After they both finished school at age 18, they got married and moved east, to a small town in North Carolina.
Anette was born there, the second of three siblings. Her older sister, Joelle, and her were both sent to the Salem Witches Institute when they were of age. Being brought up by two parents who went to boarding schools, the girls knew what to expect for the most part. Her younger brother, Ray, wasn’t yet 2 at the time, so her mother had her hands full with just him, let alone with two older girls running around the house as well.
At school, she made a few very close friends and a lot of not-so-close ones. Her close group of friends did just about everything together; the group itself wasn’t on purpose, it just happened after a while since they were in just about everything together and got along famously. They were different, obviously, but those differences just brought them closer together, since each person brought something special to the group. Anette was never what you might call “popular”, in the sense that all the guys wanted to date her or all the girls wanted to be her. However, this was simply because "popular" at the SWI meant that you slept around a lot, were friends with other people who slept around alot, and therefore knew who slept around with whom, and were generally known as "easy". That didn't cut it for Anette, so she just tried to stay out of it.
Anette’s had a pretty sheltered life up until now. Her father just recently got transferred to London for his job as a banker, and the family followed suit. Anette’s older sister, Joelle, just graduated from the Salem Witches Institute, but decided to move with them anyhow, to help the rest of the family adjust to the change. Ray isn’t old enough to go to Hogwarts yet, being only 7 years old, but Anette’s facing her last year of school in a strange school in a strange town in a strange country, on a continent she’s never even been on before. She’s not sure what to expect.
ABOUT YOU Name: Madie Years of Experience: 7 years [-ish] Sample Post:
Bev woke up with a start.
What the-? What time is it? She thought groggily as she tensed up her muscles in a stretch. As she relaxed back into her usual position, eyes still closed, her back brushed against something warm, and something very much not her covers. This something moved, shifting positions with a deep intake of breath. Beverly’s eyes burst open as she sat up impulsively, feeling a sudden burst of pain as her head collided with the top of her boyfriend’s bunk bed and clenching her teeth to avoid crying out with the pain.
What did we do last night?!
Laying back down on the bed and turning her head to look at his sleeping form, she couldn’t help but smile through the pain she was feeling in her head. His dark brown hair was going every-which way, quite different from the relatively tidy appearance she usually saw. Beverly just couldn’t help but to reach over and stoke her hands through it, appreciating it’s natural softness that she would have killed to have. As she stopped, he took another deep breath and shifted again, now obviously awake.
“’Morning, baby,” He growled in his particularly lovely, deep voice, a smile appearing on his lips as he opened his blue eyes to her. Bev couldn’t help but to keep smiling. This boy meant the world to her, but she still had to know…
“Ryan, what happened last night? I can’t for the life of me remember, and, well, I really need to know if… if we…” She blushed and couldn’t seem to finish...
Ryan chuckled to himself, taking her head in one of his hands and planting a quick kiss on her nose.
“No, nothing like that happened hon. It was just late, you just fell asleep and I didn’t have it in me to wake you up… You’re pretty cute when you sleep, you know?” He winked at Bev. “You should probably get up. If my parents find out you spent the night, it’s not just my head that’ll roll…”
