About the Character- -
Name: Suzanna Brownell (Diggory)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Year: Seventh
Face Claim: Carrie Underwood
Canon or Original?Canon
Facial Properties: When looking at Suz, a few things really stand out. The first being her hair. Now, at first glance her long, smooth, blonde hair is nothing special, but when in sunlight it becomes something quite spectacular. Her hair is flecked with golden strands putting the finest golden jewelry to shame. A light tint of strawberry red weaves its way among the darker blonde lowlights a little past her collarbone. Her bangs come down to her thin eyebrows, and are pushed to the side; usually to the left, but when she is feeling adventurous she will part them to the right. She seems to glow in the sun, giving off the radiance her personality and heart deserves. Her completion isn't pale and most certainly isn't dark, but just tan enough to make her look sun kissed. Suz's eyes are what really stand out. Her eyes are a rich brown, making anyone who looks into them either melt, or become insanely jealous. While appearing to be chocolate in color, there isn't just one color to pinpoint. A honey-colored starburst surrounds the pupil, looking almost as an eclipse. Flecks of chocolate brown fill in the gap between the honey and the espresso ring which surround the iris. If you look hard enough, there is one little dark brown spot in the honey starburst of her left eye. Her long pointed nose, slightly higher than she would like, sits right above her full light rose colored lips. Even when there is no expression or emotion, she always looks approachable because of the way her lips turn up at the corners.
Physique: Having family members who were very involved in sports, Suzanna has a very athletic physique. Bruises are no new thing for her, seeing as she is very competitive in almost everything she does. Because of her weakness for all things junk food, she isn't skin and bone, but her arms and legs are still toned. Suz dresses appropriately for her body type, sticking with airy tanks and blouses. Her favorite things to wear are anything business casual, nice shirt and jeans... preferably the medium toned jeans; not dark, and certainly not light. She's particular about her accessories, being sure not to wear a ring on the same side as she wears her watch. With her watch usually accompanies a bangle or bracelet, wouldn't want the watch to be lonely. A small, dainty, heart-shaped necklace sits just below the collar bone; an accessory she will never go without. She's got a country side and likes the American look of a southern sweetheart. Often, she'll pair a cute sun dress with some boots and a good ol' cowboy hat just to spice things up. Yeehaw.
Personality: There are many levels to Suzanna's personality. At first glance, she would appear to be the "girl next door", and in many ways, she is. The thing about her is that she loves life and would like to get as much out of life as possible. She is warm when she has to be, being able to comfort those who need to be comforted, offering a mighty comfy shoulder. When she is stabbed in the back however, all hell breaks loose. Charlie knows how to defend herself, and those she cares about. Not only is she able to confront you, and not care, she is also able to dig up a good amount of blackmail, making life somewhat difficult. Loyalty is very important to Suz, show you are disloyal, and it is very hard to gain back any amount of respect or trust. She will be your friend through thick and thin, and do anything for you to an extent. She is also very big on honesty; she will tell you what she thinks, without any second thought. This, while being helpful in the certain limelight, can also be very damaging. Sometimes she is a little too blunt... almost to the point of being a little insensitive. Her heart is in the right place, she just doesn't know how to communicate in a loving way all the time; but shes working on it.
Suz is a hard core hopeless romantic and currently single. Because Suz is so competitive in sports, guys see her as more of a friend, rather than a girl they could potentially start a relationship with. This didn't frustrate her until she saw all of her girlfriends dating. Whenever a guy shows the slightest amount of interest, Suz, within minutes has planned her wedding and entire future afterwards; this hinders her, often seeing as guys get freaked out when this occurs. She has a love for Jane Austen novels feeling hopelessly depressed afterwards, turning to ice cream or freshly baked brownies to comfort the "empty" gaping hole in her heart. She enjoys living vicariously through other people's relationships, giving advise when it is ( but usually isn't) needed. She's been in a few relationships, none that she would call too serious. The one thing she wants more than anything else in life is to find that someone who will love her for who she is, and be with her forever.
Suzy is very good about hiding one important aspect of herself... her insecurities. A thousand people can tell her that she is beautiful but she won't accept the idea as being valid. She plays off the idea of having everything together, but every time she walks passed a window or mirror Suz thinks up one more thing that could be better about her appearance. Or, on a rare occasion, she will realize how nice her butt looks in the jeans she has on that day; or how amazing her new shirt really is. These days seem to balance out what little self esteem she has, making it easier to put on a good front for everyone she comes in contact with. Suzanna is a die hard shopper. She finds comfort and security buying new clothes, shoes, and accessories much to her parents chagrin. No matter how much she buys, it never seems to be enough. There is always that next best thing; seasons end, new lines are made, new slogans pushed, and more money is spent. Spending doesn't satisfy any hopes of overcoming any insecurities.
While Suz has quite a few sides to her that present themselves as more serious, she loves to crack a good joke. Seeing people happy makes any embarassing display worth the trouble, even if it is at her own expense (which it often is). Not only is she able to crack a good joke when the opportunity presents itself, but she is also very sarcastic; almost to a negative point. If she is not careful, her sarcasm can be extremely offensive to someone who doesn't know her well enough to know that she is joking. In the event she realizes her sarcastic remarks are hurtful, she is quick to make amends; being sure not only to apologize, but to then butter them up to be sure that the apology is truly accepted. A big weakness for Suz is giving. Normally, this attribute is looked on in a positive light, but for her it gets to a point where she'll spend money she doesn't have on other people. Her intentions are right, but the outcome of such an expensive trait can be costly...literally. She seems to over-indulge in exravagant gifts for family and friends, not really thinking about any reponsibility she has yet to uphold.

History: Suzanna Brownell was born in Blackpool, England, on a rainy day in April, to Michael and Gina Brownell. She was born a month early, and to the surprise of Gina's midwives, she was developmentally stable. This came as no surprise to her parents however seeing as Michael was a wizard. She was brought up as any normal child would have been, only with a few added benefits. When Suz turned 4 she got her own quidditch broom and for two straight months anywhere that she went, she was on that broom. Her birthday cakes were always so extravagant, having candles that sung to her or color changing frosting. She always had the loving comfort of her parents arms when things didn't quite go as planned or if she fell off the ever so popular broom and scraped her knee. Her father would take trips to far off states and come back with a new coloring book or snow globe of something she had never seen before. A few months after Suz turned 5 her parents decided that it would be better for the family to move to Rye, England, seeing as there was a better school there for Charlie to attend. School was of course not required for her at the time but she had so much curiosity about the world her parents felt that the best way to satisfy her need for information was to get her enrolled in a decent school.
Suzanna's father was sure to keep an eye on her, seeing as she was different from all the other kids, which prevented her from doing quite a few things the other children were able to do. In second grade, she became so fed up with being under such restrictions that she began to incorporate magic into her muggle classroom. It was then that her father realized that school may have been a bit too much pressure for a child of her age, and he removed her from public school and got her a tutor. Distraught and disappointed, she became very closed off to all attempts at any friendships. About a year after leaving school Suzy learned that her mother was expecting and that she would be a big sister. Sure enough, almost 10 months later, her brother Jaden was born. Suz took pride in being a big sister, she loved Jaden and did anything she could to make him happy, they were like two peas in a pod. Same went for her two twin sisters born soon after. Able to go to each other for help and guidance, or even just a good hug. Their relationship wasn't always perfect, when they got into an argument it was almost like the whole neighborhood could listen in. Fights usually resulted in something flying across the room and breaking, and usually ended when both were out of things to say and began to realize how ridiculous the argument really was.
Suzy began wizarding school at Hogwarts, at the age of 11 and was finally able to be herself. For a while she stayed bottled up, not sure how to act around children of her own kind, but soon got the hang of being free to do as she pleased. She made friends quickly and loved to be outside with them in the beautiful castle and the castle grounds. Being at school and learning about what she was made Suz extremely happy, soaking up all of the information and facts and stored them away for later use. When she returned home after her first year, she noticed that things on the home front were not quite as she had left them. Her father was gone a lot, and when he returned the warm, loving father wasn't there; but in his place was a cold businessman who did anything to please his next work client. Instantly communication walls were up; family dinners were silent except for the quiet humming of Jaden, who seemed oblivious to the awkward quiet. Suz would wake up and hear her parents fighting, yelling at each other words that were inaudible from where her room was located. She spent many of these nights clutching her tear stained pillow, trying to remember those times when things were good, conversations were had, and hugs were given. One morning she woke up and her father was gone. Suzanna's view on all men drastically changed that day, making it hard for her to ever trust any of them again.
The years following were hard for Suz. She would go from the magic of a wonderful school to the darkness of a hurt and crushed family. In the beginning of her fifth year however things started to look up, her mom was dating again, her brother starting school, and she passed all her classes with ease. To her friends she was simply pleasant, and she was starting to move out of the awkward stages of adolescence to the beautiful young adult stage. Which was nothing short of amazing for her... boys started to notice. She had a few relationships, dealing with the trust issues she had, though not very well, they soon ended because she was afraid they would end up breaking her heart. Her journey is far from over as she 'slaves' away in her seventh and final year at Hogwarts. The boys are many, the homework is brutal, and the friendships are thriving. Life was looking up. And she was ready for it.
Sample Post: Out of all the insane things to happen in her life, out of all the boys she had been with, out of all the crazy places she had been, you would thing that Mel would be used to pretty much every situation and boy out there. But today, the nerves seemed to be eating her alive when she thought of this date get together with Sirius Black. What made him so intimidating? Weren't boys supposed to be intimidated by her? Yes. They were. Melanie was always careful to make it that way. She wasn't worth anything. She was just a slut, a whore, someone to use then toss aside like a used towel. Her step-dad made sure she knew that every time he fucked with her. No, after he made her his little sex toy. Thank God she could stay at Marlene's from now on, there was no fucking way she was going back home. Earlier that year she sent a letter home to her mom and ass hole of a step-father telling them that they should consider her moved out and that she would only see her mom. Never again would she see that prick who filled her nightmares, who made her to who she was today. A used tramp. Shit. That's right! Marls! Feelings of shame and deception crept in on the already emotionally drowning Melanie. Marls would fucking kill Mel if she found out. So she wouldn't tell her. It was casual anyway right? He had a girlfriend, and Mel wanted to honor her best friends feelings. Right. She didn't need to know...it wasn't a big deal. she gulped as she waited for her curling iron to heat up, biting her lower lip to bring the focus from Sirius to the amount of pain she was in. No luck. Each curl steamed slightly as she wrapped her long blond hair onto the smoldering iron, curls bouncing against her collar bone as she dropped them. Right. This was just an outing with a good friend. They were allowed to hang out, weren't they? When she was finished with the task of her hair, she moved onto makeup, meticulously checking every inch of her face, covering up any imperfection. The atmosphere change abruptly as Marls came sauntering into the room, messing with her hair. 'Shit, shit, shit'. Mel could do this; lie to her best friend. She had James anyway, they had just told each other how much they loved her too. If Marls were to find out, about her and Sirius' Platonic outing, she'd be completely fine with it. Right?
Melanie knew this was too much to hope for. Marls was pissed at Sirius, for God knows why, Sirius was the most genuine guy Mel knew. God, wouldn't it be weird if the best friends got together? Marls had Mel, James had Sirius. 'Damn it!' Mel mentally smacked herself back into reality. She couldn't be thinking this. Tonight was going to be completely casual and friendly. Nothing else. Not that her fantasy had always been something along these lines...they would stay fantasies. Not for Alecto's sake, psh, fuck her. But for Marls. "There's my Bitch. Where ya been?" Mel would usually stick around for the question but she realized she was already running late. She could still hear Marls as she rummaged through her trunk, pulling out a pile of shirts and her favorite jeans, throwing them on her bed. Marls entered the room rolling her eyes as she plopped down on her bed, exhausted; "Where else? I do have a boyfriend that occupies 80% of my time, you know" Mel had different shirts held up in the mirror, narrowing the pile down to three different shirts, then to two. Throwing off her tank top she slipped the first one on and spun to face her friend. "Well?" Again her eyes rolled as she sat up on her arms to survey the very nervous Melanie. "I THINK that you're more fidgety than usual. Who's the guy this time, anyway? New one?" Mel looked down at her twitchy hands, 'shit, i knew this would happen.' Turning away from her friend to look concerned with the shirt she was wearing she answered. "Oh well, kinda. But you know me... Nothing special. Just a few drinks." When she looked back at Marls she realized her lips were in a hard line, and her gaze was skeptical. This is why they were best friends. They knew each others bullshit. "Right, a few drinks. Why am I not surprised? So long as I don't have to go and pick you up because you're so wasted you can't even get yourself back here..." She swung her legs over the edge of the bed and looked at her. "And don't think I didn't notice you didn't answer my question. But whatever." She quickly turned around, hoping she didn't hurt her friend by not telling her the full story. The last thing she wanted in all of this was to hurt Marls, especially after what they had been through. She needed to make up something...and fast. "Ok. I didn't want to tell you...cause well, it's sort of embarrassing. I'm meeting with Wes again...I know, I know..." She tried her hardest to put on an embarrassed face as she glanced up for a reaction. And she got it. Marlene's face furrowed in frustration as she gathered the right words to say. "Wes? Again? You just can't get enough of him, can you? I mean, sure, it's convenient once in a while, but come onnn, Mel. The guy's a jerk." She nodded, Wes was a jerk; good thing it wasn't him she was meeting. "I know... but I promise I won't get trashed. And I'll sleep in my own bed tonight...We're just going to talk." A nervous grin spread across her face as she looked at Marls. As bad as she felt, she loved being sneaky. There was just something about keeping secrets that gave her some kind of high.
Putting her face in her hands, Marls watched Mel scrutinize all of her imperfections, she was the only one Mel would let see her true feelings toward herself. "Like I haven't heard THAT before. But suit yourself." Turning back to face the mirror she shoved up her bra, hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. "So the black one then?" Marls nodded; "Sure, black. It's slimming." Beaming she turned to her friend, "Well I better be off then." She slipped on her favorite black heels and turned to her friend. Guilt seemed to creep in on her as she studied Marls' face. "Love you Marls... and thank you." Grinning wildly Marls hugged Mel, being sure not to mess up hair or makeup in the process. "Yeah, yeah. Go get your 'talk'" Her heels clicked the ground as she walked toward Hogsmeade, mentally preparing herself for the night she was about to have. Under no circumstances would she get wasted. Mel would just not let that happen...unless he did...then it would be ok, and who knows what it would lead to...'NO!' No. Tonight was going to be just as fun sober as it would drunk. Better, actually, cause she would remember it in the morning. She gripped her arms in attempts to keep herself warm as hogsmeade came into view. The cool air blew across the grounds, but any shivering Mel was doing wasn't from temperature. The Three Broomsticks was bound to be a little more empty than usual, being a sunday night and all, which would make it better to talk. She loved how homey the Three Broomsticks was, warmth seemed to embrace her as she walked in its inviting door, scanning the room for her date friend. Her heart skipped beats when she saw him. With a huge grin she walked over and gave him a big hug, taking in his wonderful smell. Once this thinking started she pulled away, taking the chair opposite him, leaning forward as she rested her elbows on the table. "Sorry I'm late. I was running a bit behind." Tonight would be brilliant. She needed to keep telling herself that.__________________________________________________________
