ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Mafalda Hopkirk Age: 17 Gender: Female Year: 7th Celebrity: Caroline Trentini
Canon or Original? Canon
Facial Properties: Mafalda's face is an expressive one, able to adapt to her many moods at the drop of a hat. It's of an oval shape, with angular features that show off a natural kind of beauty. Her slim lips twist slightly upward into a small, full smile, complete with dimples. A pair of round eyes of a grey-blue hue rest beneath her thin eyebrows, the southern border to her smooth-skinned forehead. The slightest shade of red adorns her elegant cheeks, intensified when emotion summons a rush of blood into them.
Physique: Mafalda's body is a lanky one, and the lankiness only makes her seem taller. Standing straight up, she reaches 5 feet and 11 inches tall. She weighs 116 pounds. The longest part of her body are definitely her legs. She has had many people tell her that she should pursue modeling, but Mafalda is far too modest to do something like that. She is very fit, but hides her flat tummy and lean legs behind baggy shirts, and overalls. She doesn't try to stay in shape, she just inherited those genes, and her hobby of jogging only adds to it. So, she may have a nice body for her age, but nobody really knows it and she won't admit to it. The other students just see her as that tall, awkward looking girl.
Personality: Mafalda's personality over the years has grown from shy, introverted, and lone-rish to excited, friendly, and goofy. Ever since her mother started spending more time with her, Mafalda has become a much more loving and caring person. She realizes how special people in her life are and never wants to push them away like she did when she was younger. It only caused pain for her and others. She would do almost anything for a friend, and is also the motherly type. If you are feeling down about something, even minor, you'll probably get a whole plate of homemade cookies from this girl. She goes out of her way to make others feel good, and she enjoys doing it. Of course Mafalda isn't always a ball of sunshine, sometimes she's just a ball of fire. If you rub her in the wrong way she has the ability to be rude, sarcastic, and snappy, but this happens very rarely. She hardly ever shows this side to her friends, unless something really "irks" her. A lot of the time her friends find it funny to watch her face turn red with anger, but if they can tell she means business....well...it can get kind of scary too. And then there are times when she is just plain depressing. Whether she wants to admit it or not, Mafalda has suffered some down-right sad things in her life. Growing up without a father, a mother she couldn't depend on, and no friends or family, the girl has some inner issues that get the best of her sometimes. There are times when she will be gloomy for days and nobody, not even her, knows why. It usually happens when people talk about family - specifically fathers. She isn't a nut case by any means, there is just a part of her deep down inside that is still a scared little 4 year old, home alone, with nobody to tuck her in. For the most part - Mafalda is your average 17-year-old girl. Her emotions are still a bit of a mess that she hasn't figured out how to control, and she is really just starting to figure out who she is and what she wants in life. It is a very stressful time for her, so she might surprise you!

History: Jaeleene Hopkirk was a very young girl when she fell in-love with an over-aged wizard, named Cyllubus Mortemor. Only 14 at the time, she had no idea that he was taking advantage of her. But, why else would a 26 year old be interested in someone so young? After only three short weeks Jaeleene got pregnant, and Cyllubus proved his worth when he left her. Mafalda Steavey Hopkirk was born eight and a half months later, only 6 minutes into November 1st. Her father wasn't present for her birth, and to this day she has never met him. She has one picture and a name. That is all she knows about the man.
Mafalda wasn't raised in the best environment for the first seven or eight years of her life. Her mother was too young to know better, and often left Mafalda home alone while she went out to do other things with her friends. She never spoke much about Mafalda, because it was such a disgraceful thing to have a child and not be married, and rarely did anyone come around to see the young girl. She spent many nights alone, hiding under her bed, with a lamp and a book. After teaching herself to read [she was enrolled in school very late for her age] Mafalda fell in love with books, and to shut out the real world around her she would often submerge herself in a fantasy one instead.
Eventually her mother snapped out of it, and around the age of 22 decided she needed to try being a mother. At first the relationship was strained, as Mafalda would much rather lock herself in her room and be by herself like she was used to doing. Over time though, Mafalda noticed her mother really was trying, and slowly started to give the young woman a chance. As their relationship improved so did Mafalda's marks in school. The girl came out of her shell more and learned to start making friends. Then the letter from Hogwarts came, and changed the lives of both these girls.
At first her mother thought it must be some sort of a joke, but it wasn't a joke at all. That good-for-nothing father of Mafalda's had actually given her something. He had given her magic. That sad excuse for a Wizard had granted Mafalda acceptance into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
Her days at Hogwarts have been the best days of her life, and Mafalda has made some of the greatest friends she could ever have asked for. Before Hogwarts, Mafalda hadn't known that she could have a complete family, but the love she received at that school made up for being so neglected as a child. She tries her hardest to continue to make top marks in all her classes, struggling to impressing her mother, and has turned her love of reading into an even greater love - writing.
Now, in her seventh year at Hogwarts, Mafalda has no idea where her road goes from here, but the struggles in her life have only prepared her more for this road. She is ready to choose her path.
ABOUT YOU Name: Brit Years of Experience: About 6 years. Sample Post: Taken from my other character, Tilly.
Tilly stared at the candy for a moment, as if she were examining it. She was, in a way, but not for anything bad. She was examining every little thing. The texture, the color, the size. She didn't have much of it to spare so she wanted to take in as much as she could before 'enjoying' it. She didn't have much time to do that though before she saw a hand and heard a voice. It scared her so much [she thought it must be the headmaster] that, with a little jump, she dropped her candy in the mud. That probably wouldn't stop her later, but for now she wanted to see who had startled her.
A boy. Leave it up to a boy to ruin the one good thing she looked forward to. A cute boy. Leave it up to a cute boy to make her forget about it. Though you had to look past the slightly messy hair, mismatched clothes, and little bit of dirt on his face, she couldn't help but smile. Seeing people beyond the tatteredness was one thing orphan's were very good at.
"I'm Tilly," she said, her smile disappearing when she saw the caramel chunk lying in the mud. Who was this boy? She hadn't ever seen him before and Tilly wasn't a shy one. She wasn't somebody who didn't like to make friends. She reached in to her small baggy again and pulled out another piece of caramel candy. Two down, two left. She tore it in half and then looked back at him. She had hoped nobody would find out about her little secret hiding spot [she liked to keep the candy to herself. It was rare after all], and he was the only other person that knew about it now. It'd probably have to be changed.
Instead of shaking his hand she held half a piece of the candy out to him and tilted her head, waiting to see if he'd take it. She was a polite girl. She wasn't mad at him, she was mad at the fact that she dropped her first candy.
