About the Character- -
Name: Adeline Rosalie Vincent Age: 17 Gender: Female Year: Sixth Face Claim: Katherine Heigl
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties: Addy’s face is slightly angular, with barely a pinch of chin at the end, giving her face a round, angelic look. Her skin has never been on her side, only until she started Hogwarts. Growing up, it was full of bruises and cuts, so she had adapted herself to love make-up. Addy will actually sometimes wear too much make-up, just because she can’t look at her soft, beautiful face without thinking of her dark past. Adeline sports plump and full lips and a smile that kills. Though her lips are luscious, that’s usually not what people notice about her right away. Just above her thick cheeks, lay her brown, puppy dog eyes. If anything about her lures men, it’s her eyes. The brown weaves with gold inside her iris and mixes into what look like spider webs if up close. Her nose is longer, and straight, and her nostrils are rather small. Her gold locks are a tundra of silk that slides down past her shoulders.
Physique: Adeline is tall. As a child, she was rather small and gangly, but as she grew her height got the best of her. Addy has a plump frame, with low, smooth hips that extend outward seductively, and a smaller belly that swings up to her rather large chest. Adeline’s arms are long and thin while her legs are thicker and gentle. Her stance is most likely stiff and straight, but on rare occasion will you see her slouching or lounging about.
Personality:
[[ Sass, with a sting ]] Adeline has always had a lot of sass. Even when she was young, it got her into more trouble than anticipated with people. She’s a know it all, and loves to use sarcasm in her wording. Adeline works her words wisely and systematically to slide that extra sting into a conversation. She has always known how to speak with people, and when she want’s to put you right, she will. Adeline is the queen of punctuality, and always on top in the conversation on what she’s going to say next, which will normally, put you in your place.
[[ Still has a heart ]] Though Addy has always gotten on the ‘bad’ side of people, she actually does care for a lot of things, and people. When she was put away in her child hood, she thought that she would never be happy again, until she realized she loved someone. From then on, Addy has always had a chunk of her heart committed to love. It’s just incredibly hard to get on her good side. But once one steps over the boundary, Adeline is one of the nicest people. You just have to get to know her before she opens up to someone, which is rather hard. If she doesn’t like you right away, chances are, you’re not going to get on her good side at all. But if you fight for her, she’ll warm up to you.
[[ Trust and Romance]] Adeline had fallen in love with a boy when she was younger, and has only loved one boy. This boy showed her the light from the darkest corner of a damp cage. He showed her how to love, and be loved, and that’s what kept her alive. It killed her when he was gone. So, once Addy had realized that there is something more to life, she became a true romantic. With all of her heart, she knows that love is out there, and thoroughly enjoys gentlemen and things that could ‘sweep her off of her feet’. The only thing that stops Adeline from love is trust. She has never gotten over her past, so it’s hard for her to focus on her future. It would take a lot for Adeline to love someone in return of their love. Her excuse to anyone that wonders why she’s so closed and untrustworthy is “It’s hard” and she leaves it at that.
[[ Wanted ]] Although Adeline is a very un-open with people, she finds that people really do like her. Addy is very adaptable person. She can squeeze her way into any relationship or conversation without hesitation, and be liked by the people she’s talking to. She was once told that she “is a key. . .and that key can open anything.” She’s always been good at puzzles, and people are her favorite puzzle. Weeding her way into peoples lives either makes her or breaks her, and her personality always decides who wants her.

History:
. . .It was the only way. . . Adeline was a mistake. A failure. A ‘should have been aborted child‘. She wasn’t supposed to be in the world. She wasn’t supposed to be a part of the Vincent’s. The words had repeated in Adeline’s head all of her child hood, because her father did nothing but hammer the words into her thin skull when he was with her. She was born on the Fifth of October. Lisa Vincent was walking to the bank when her water broke. Right away she knew something was wrong. There was blood rolling down her legs in sleek driplets. Then, with a pounding effect, her back was sent into excruciating pain, and she was paralyzed from the hips down. Something was wrong, and she couldn’t move to get help. Falling, Lisa slammed against a brick wall and slid down it slowly as her legs gave out. The sweeping effect of nausea and unconsciousness effected her head, and soon she was out.
Lisa had woken up in a small brick house, just outside of London. She was clean and clothed, and was lying on a small mattress on a cold hard floor. The mattress was shoved against the wall, and around her she saw a stove, a sink, a fire, and a couch. A couch with a woman on it. The woman had gotten up once she’d realized Lisa was awake. Her hair was bushy and all over the place. The woman’s eyes were sunken, and there were circles around them. She was wearing what looked like a dress, but with closer inspection, it was only a sheet. In her small, lanky arms was Adeline. Lisa got up quickly and snatched at her child. “Give her to me!” She screamed at the woman, and pulled at the cloth she was wrapped in. The woman gave back the child and stepped back, looking at Lisa.
“You’re going to die, you know.” The woman said with a drawl on her breath. She sauntered back to her couch and sat down. Lisa watched her, horrified by the circumstance she was in right now. She looked around. The house was by no means clean. Her eyes searched around the dirt filled floor and walls. To her left, was a very slimy looking door. Lisa decided to run for it with Adeline in her arms, but something stopped her. She looked down at the clean clothes she was wearing, and realized that they were by no means clean. The bottom of the white fabric all around Lisa’s legs was sopping in blood. As Lisa’s gasp shuddered throughout the small room, another flash of dizzy-ness overcame her. She looked around quickly, trying to comprehend what was going on, but with no luck, she sunk down onto the mattress she had woken up on. The only words that the woman sitting on the couch had decided to say flooded into Lisa’s mind and she was overcame by heat. you’re going to die . . .you’re going to die. . .
Lisa Vincent never woke up.
Four years later.
Adeline was in her room. There was a tattered looking bed pushed against the south wall, with a window over it, and white lace drapes hanging over the glass. The window was open, and the wind made the lace whip in the wind. Addy looked around her room. It was blank, especially for a four year old. There were no pictures. No wallpaper. No toys. Adeline looked down at what she playing with. Broken wood pieces from the floor boards. She was using her nails to carve them perfectly, creating a small puzzle. She smiled as she fitted the last piece into it. Before she knew it, the door had whipped open. There was a SMACK as it slammed into the wall, and her father walked in; Raymond Vincent. His eyes were dark, and his short, black hair was slicked to one side. He had a bottle of whiskey in his right hand and his other was curled into a fist. “What the HELL are you doing to your floor!?” He was at Adeline’s side before her frail body could move, and his hand swiped across her face. The force from his hand had knocked her so hard, her back slammed against the wall. Her long blonde hair tangled against the floor boards. Tears were flushing down little Adeline’s face before he even looked up.
It wasn't the first time his hand had met her small, fragile frame. Adeline's punishments usually carried out to be worse than this.
His hard glare found her fallen face again, and he stared at her, blankly. “Stop crying. . .and clean this shit up.” He said solemnly and walked out of her room. Adeline was left alone in her room. The sting from his hard hand was still pulsating against her soft skin, and a scratch leaked blood slightly. Gaining the courage, she got up and kicked all of the pieces of wood under her dresser. Sobbing lightly, she went to go close her door, when she heard her father screaming. “No! Because, you dumb tramp!” there was a fumble, a scream, and a loud bang. Sobbing filled the hallway as Adeline looked down it, waiting for someone to say something. “That’s IT Raymond!” the woman’s voice was shrill. “I’m done with this. If you don’t want me, than FINE. But if you do, then I want your daughter OUT OF HERE. She’s a FREAK! You’ve seen what she does in the middle of the night. Doing those. . .those PUZZLES! God, KNOWS you know there’s something wrong with Adeline! For gods sake, Ray, the puzzle pieces FLOAT!” There was silence. “. . .she killed Lisa!" Adeline didn’t even realize she was sobbing, until it infected the silence that followed their fight. She heard them shuffling and ran for her bed. Jumping onto it just in time, Raymond entered, followed by his wife. Raymond had met her when he had found out the news about Lisa. He had never been the same again. Her hair was bushy and all over the place. Her name was Cadence, and her eyes were sunken, and there were circles around them. She had a scrawny, hawk-like figure, and her beady glance was terrifying. This was the woman that had found Adeline when her mother passed away. Adeline gasped. “C’mon. Grab your clothes.” she said, in a wispy, cracky voice. Raymond stood back as he watched Adeline get all of her clothes and grabbed her shoes. “Where am I going, Daddy?” “It’s the only way, Addy. . .”
Six years later ;; St. Drubles Insane Institute
Adeline walked shyly down the hall of blue doors. He was down one of these halls. It was Adeline’s “free time” where she could visit anyone she wanted, and she wanted to see him so badly. Adeline tripped suddenly, and fell against one of the baby blue doors. The frame was rusted slightly, and the window was murky. It was his room. Julian’s. Her heart fluttered as she peeked through the window. He was there, laying on his bed, sleeping. She loved the way he looked when he was sleeping. She pondered waking him up, but then thought that it was a bad idea. She just wanted to see him. See his face. See his rough body, yet completely frail and angelic. She loved him, more than anything in the world. He was the only person in her entire universe that made her feel whole. Like there was something more to live for. She watched him, waiting for him to move. He always slept restlessly, she’d noted that when they’d snuck out onto the roof one night. That was the night that they had named the stars. There were three that they named, all making a triangle. One was Love. One was Forever. And one was Always. She smiled thinking about it, and stared back at him once more. He still hadn’t moved from his position. His sandy blonde hair was sprawled in different directions as he layed there with his eyes open. His eyes were open. Adeline’s heart fell through the floor. One hand was on the handle and one hand was next to the murky window, pushing as hard as she could. “Julian? JULIAN!?” He didn’t move as her shrieks sounded through the halls. Her mind left her body, and she fell into a slow motion state. The world was ending as Adeline knew it. Her body was shuddering heavily as she slammed herself against the door, roughly trying to get through, She’d barely noticed the guard that lifted her from the door, and the administrator opening his blue door. Addy’s screams were lost in the universe as she watched the officials enter his room. His limp body was strewn across his bed, and there was a light foam that protruded from his mouth. Adeline was gagging. She was rasping for breath, but couldn’t breath.
The stretcher took him away. Away from St. Drubles Insane Institute. Away from the world. Away from Addy.
Two years later ;; St. Drubles Insane Institute
Addy hadn’t had a visitor the entire time she’d resided in St. Drubles. No family. No one. So it was as much of a surprise to Adeline as it was to the workers when a man named Albus wanted to talk to her. The meeting was short, but all that he told Addy was something she didn’t want to believe. She couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t comprehendible to her. She wasn’t a witch. She’d assumed it was a joke. Just a sick trick played on her by her family. She wondered why anyone would do that to her. Play such a crude trick on someone who had been locked away for her entire life. Completely irritated by the fact, she forgot all about it. Until one week later, when she’d received a letter. She had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was surreal, and unbearable. She couldn’t believe it. She wouldn’t believe it until she saw it. Hogwarts opened up to her, and Adeline’s life changed before her eyes.
This was the beginning of Adeline Rosalie Vincent’s life. Hogwarts became her life.
