What a shame What a shame the poor groom's bride is a whoreBeing trapped indoors all day was really getting to Alecto. There was only so much time she could spend indoors really. This was N.E.W.T year and it indeed was murder. How she hated it. Maybe she should just fail all her exams. But that wasn't her. She would never fail a test on purpose. So the Slytherin had been in the girls dorm all morning memorizing random spells and such. She had been at it since eight o' clock in the morning and currently it was two in the afternoon. A half hour break was taken for lunch. Now she was done. Well, done for the next three hours. She deserved a three hour break. Human interaction had been limited for her and she was glad it was a weekend. The weird (or slightly normal) thing was that she did not want to associate with anyone. She just wanted to be by herself and roam around. Her legs led her to the courtyard, where it was more than empty. It was practically deserted. There wasn't a person in sight, perfect. Alecto took a seat on one of the benches and glanced around at the greenery, it was peaceful. All was good. A lie. All was not good! No sooner had she sat down than a owl landed next to her with his leg extended. Hermes, the family owl. Alecto was startled to see him, normally Amycus recieved all the family letters. Had someone died? Her heart beat faster as she grabbed the letter and tore it open. Someone was hurt, she was sure. Well, it was worse. Enclosed in the letter was the following: Alecto Ava Carrow You have not been doing a good job in carrying the Carrow name. Your teachings have been forgetten by you and your parents are very disappointed in you. Maybe you'll have less trouble carrying someone else's name. As of this point on you are now bethroed to Rowan Avery. Stick to tradition. You have one last chance to prove yourself, don't blow it. What? WHAT! She was to be married? To Rowan Avery? Alecto jumped up and stared at the letter in disbelief. Didn't her parents know how much they hated each other? How was this a good idea? No, there was no way she was going to marry him. The little color in Alecto's face drained and she stod there horrorstruck. This couldn't be happening to her. Her head was spinning and despite the slight breeze, it was about a million degrees. Scared, she was scared. How could this happen to her? Did Rowan know? She knew for a fact that she couldn't wiggle out of this. Her parents word was law, not like that mattered before. Maybe they would disown her? This couldn't be happening. Then another horrible thought occured, did he want to get married? For half a second, Alecto saw herself in a white dress leaning in to kiss Rowan. She shook her head violently to get it out of her head. NO! She didn't care if she had to go to Amycus and threaten his life..wait...It was Amycus' idea. It had to be. Her younger had set this up, she was positive. That git. He was going to die. Rowan was going to die along with all the Averys.

Rowan dear, I've just written to inform you of the joyous news...
He supposed the letter from his mother should have been a clear warning. She never referred to anything as 'joyous' and that along should have tipped him off that the rest could have absolutely no possible redeeming qualities. Sadly, as was par for the course with his family- it wasn't just bad, it was much, much worse. Obviously dear you know that the Carrows are a good, pureblooded family; so I can be sure that you will be thrilled to hear that your father has finalized the final marriage contract with between you and their daughter, Alecto.
Rowan paused, staring at the letter in his hand as though it was about to leap up and bite him on the nose. Marry HER?! it was unbelievable, ludicrous, unfathomable cruelty... Which made him entirely certainly that it was his parents, and not a sick joke. In shock, his feet continued carrying him towards the courtyard, as had been his plan before the letter had been delivered. I was thinking, how about salmon (the color dear,) or that lovely dusty rose; along with pale green, for the color scheme? You'll have to discuss it with your intended, and get back to me as soon as possible. I would hate for this not to be to your taste- assuming they are acceptable.
It was amazing, his whole life, and he had never even realized that there was an axe hovering over his head- just waiting for the precise moment to drop. And drop it did; stepping into the courtyard, who should he see as the only other occupant- but his dear bride, in the flesh. Rowan crushed the letter deep into the pocket of his black uniform robes. It was light a lead weight, just hanging there; reminding him that his family was possessed of a singularly unique sense of humor. Running his hands through his hair, Rowan flopped gracelessly into one of the benches across from Alecto. She didn't look much better then he did, ashen and sick looking- apparently she had received news of the 'joyous event' as well. "Mrs. Alecto Avery..." he said quietly, forming the words as though they tasted foul, "I hope that sounds as vile to you, as it does to me."

Come, break me down Bury me, bury me Anger was getting the best of her now. How could her parents do this to her? Was this some sort of joke? There was absolutely nothing funny about marrying Rowan Avery. This was a very serious matter. The two Slytherins couldn't stay in the same room without getting in a fight. What, did her parents think this was cute? How could anyone do this to her? Alecto crumpled the piece of parchment in her hand and stuffed it into the pocket of her jeans. She was going to get revenge, oh yes she was. How exactly? This was what she was contemplating. That is until her future husband came into view. Great, just great. Couldn't she get three seconds by herself without the entire Avery clan making her life hell? She placed her hands on her hips and glared at him as if this was all his fault. Of course, he wasn't exactly happy about holy matrimony with her either. Judging by his expression, Alecto understood that he had gotten the bad news. Now, how to get out of it? Maybe she could write his parents a letter telling them how their wedding night had come a bit earlier than expected. Eww..gross...never. Even Alecto wouldn't do that. Alecto Avery. Alecto Avery. It didn't sound nice at all. Alecto didn't want to get married, to anyone. The idea of marriage was nauseating to her. She had sworn that she would never tie the knot with anyone. Why couldn't her parents understand that? What was this horrid ritual that a girl her age was bethroed to someone as horrifying as Rowan? "What, don't you think it'll be fun? We can play house all the effing time," she growled while taking the letter out of her pocket and throwing it at him.
