How did you find us? Affiliate button on another site. What about ISS inspired you to join? The layout was clean and I liked the fact that there are plenty of good rules in place to ensure quality roleplaying. Not to mention, I liked that there's no obscenity (I don't fancy swearing.) Do you have any suggestions for us? Not at the moment, but if I do I'll fire a PM your (the admin's) way.

About the Character- -
Name: Dahliya Wildflower Age: 15 Gender: Female Year: 5th Face Claim: Lucy Griffiths
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties: Dahliya has pale white skin, and an oval-shaped face. She has avergae sized lips that change in tone depending on her mood, though they are usually a deep shade of red. Her eyes are almond shaped and a bright green, though they can sometimes seem blue if the lighting isn't so good. She has wavy raven black hair down to the middle of her back. She has a habit of blushing at almost anything, and more often than not her cheeks are varyign shades of pink to red. Dahliya has high cheekbones which she inherited from her mother and people often assume she's in Slytherin because of her combination of dark hair, pale skin and green eyes.
Physique: Standing at 5 ft 5 inches, Dahliya is about average height and weighs 125 lbs. She has a medium to thin build and can sometimes look like the wind is blowing her off to the side. Dahliya is rather conservative in dress. Unlike other girls, she does not wear a short skirt under her school robes, rather she wears long peasant style dresses that fall to her ankles and have long flowing sleeves. She knows and appreciates that this makes her different, and yet, she does not care much. She prizes modesty well over pride or arrogance, and thinks that everyone has merit in some way or another, even if they seem bad on the outside. To the average person, she looks like a shy, gentle and quiet girl. She's modest, conservative and gentle in demeanor, and has manners to shame most. Dahliya loves to wear all sorts of colours and usually dresses to help or suit her mood. She is beautiful, in a sort of shy, quiet way, and people sometimes mistaken her to be related to the Potter family, given her combination of green eyes and black hair. Dahliya can usually be spotted carrying a book, be it a muggle novel, school texts, or light reading. In her bag she also carries a sketchbook, muggle graphite sketching pencils, pastels and all other sorts of art materials. She also keeps a ‘reflection book,’ which she writes in often. Dahliya is most likely to be seen either in nature or in the library.
Personality: Dahliya was brought up in a comfortable home, with good manners and responsibility She’s a pretty flexible girl, but will stick by her beliefs and try to do what is ethically and morally right in all cases where possible. She speaks in proper English, though she is far from snobby. She is very friendly and gets along with most everyone. In a nutshell, her personal philosophy runs along the lines of Be like the flower that gives its fragrance even to the hand that crushes it. In other words, even with the meanest of people she will try to reason with them, and give them the benefit of the doubt. She is not arrogant and does not dwell on her good points. Instead she continues to strive to be better, always looking up instead of down. She understands and knows that there’s always someone who has it worse off.
Dahliya is one of those people who is beautiful but doesn’t know it. She’s humble and always assumes the best about the people she meets and sees. She thinks before she speaks, most of the time, but when she’s nervous she may talk on and on without realizing what she’s saying. She likes good company, but enjoys and values her alone time as well. Dahliya has many friends and is the person who goes out of her way to help others. She is really close to her family and to her horse, Everett. She loves most animals, with the exception of pigs and snakes. She can sometimes be a little oblivious to some things, such as people who like her or someone trying to get her attention for one reason or another, and can be a bit of a daydreamer. One of her favourite past-times is to think and contemplate life and its happenings. She enjoys doing yoga in the privacy of her dorm and can often be found reading Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell or Charles Dickens novels.
One of the things Dahliya is prone to doing is blushing. Since she’s so shy, she blushes at most anything, from a compliment to merely talking to a boy. Many of the boys in her year think she’s beautiful and that the blushing makes her look ‘gorgeous’ but Dahliya just turns bright read and denies it, sometimes even stuttering a little in her nervousness. When she’s nervous, she’ll often play with the tassels on her robe or bite her bottom lip. She loves the clothes and social life of the regency period and this is evident just by looking at her and speaking with her. She’s pursued by a number of boys but is oblivious to it, blushing at any compliment that comes her way. Dahliya is really smart and loves all her classes, with the exception of Divination which she doesn’t take and which she sees as a load of fluff. She is aspiring to be either an Auror or a Healer, and aims to work with a Muggle aid agency on the side when she gets older.
Her favourite classes are History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration. She likes Potions, but doesn't do as well in it as her other classes. Needless to say, she works tirelessly to try and bring her marks up in Potions, which means she ends up with a decent mark. Though timid and gentle, Dahliya can sometimes get irked or annoyed and find herself struggling to maintain her paitence; though this does not happen often. She is known to have a quick hex up her sleeve but will almost never use it. She's quite the rule follower and the thought of breakign rules makes her panic. This can sometimes be a problem given the fact that she may fail to realize a situation which warrants rule-breakign for the greater good.

History: Dahliya was born to Terry and Elena Wildflower on January 5th, 2012. She was born in Canada while her parents and her older brother were living there. They moved back to England after her younger brother was born, but Dahliya still has her Canadian accent, much to their father, Terry’s amusement. Her friends love this about her, and she’s had several males tell her it makes her sound ‘pretty,’ but to her, its everyone else who has an accent. She had a pretty uneventful childhood up until the age of 7, flying toy brooms, horseback riding, drawing, painting and even writing. At the young age of three, Dahliya picked up a crayon and began to draw on her bedroom wall. She drew a beautiful (particularly for a three year old) scene full of flowers and clouds, butterflies and the sun. Although her mother Elena was upset at first, her parents soon realized Dahliya had a gift for art and she has been drawing since. She began to take muggle art classes, and now carries a sketchbook round with her wherever she goes. Over the years she’s experimented with different art forms, including pastels, paint, water colours and charcoal.
She attended a muggle elementary school, but received a letter from Hogwarts when she was 11, as was expected, and as her older brother had a year prior. Two years prior, Dahliya’s great Uncle Philbert from her father’s side had died and the loss had affected Dahliya greatly. She often would sit for hours, drawing or writing to release and express her emotions. For the two years following her uncle’s death, she created a whole series of art work which began looking a little dark and sad, and gradually becoming happier looking and light. It was her way of dealing with the tragedy, and even now, when she’s feeling strongly about something, she can be found either writing or drawing. Once she arrived at Hogwarts, she wasn’t worried about which house she’d be sorted into, for her parents had told her it wouldn’t matter. The only apprehension she felt was being far from her parents.
She often spends time with her older brother, who is quite protective of her and now that her younger brother is at Hogwarts as well, she spends time with him as well. It helps some with respect to the homesickness which she feels even now so many years after having stayed at Hogwarts. People say she takes after her father most, but she has her mother’s eyes and hair colour. It’s her personality that is most like her father, calm, observant, docile, gentle and smart. She got along well with most people at school, though some of the Slytherin girls don’t like her much. One of the Slytherin boys once called her his “Slytherin Queen” because of her green eyes, pale skin and black hair, but Dahliya’s older brother persuaded him physically by giving him a black eye or two, Needless to say that particular boy doesn’t look twice at Dahliya anymore.
Dahliya excels in her schoolwork and loves all her classes, with the exception of Divination which she dropped and thinks is a load of fluff. She does not believe that pure blood is better than any other sort of blood, and believes that all creatures should have their rights respected. She is 100% loyal to the Order and is proud as punch of her father and how he’s excelled in his life. Dahliya hopes she can help people as much as her father has, and she will go out of her way to help others. If someone is being bullied, she will put an end to it and stand up for them. Dahliya is a member of the Quidditch team and though her great grandmother on her mother’s side swears that her great great great grandmother was a veela but Dahliya doesn’t care. She’s been working on a family tree for three years now to see if her great grandmother is right, but its more of a fun project she does in her free time. Dahliya hopes to be either an Auror or a Healer, and her professors tell her she’d be great in either role.
Sample Post:
Eyes closed, praying under her breath, suddenly Dahliya heard something off... a giggle? She opened her eyes, ears listening intently, yes, it was a giggle, rather a series of giggles. She cringed slightly on the inside: she didn't giggle nor did she think it proper in any sense of the word; but to each his own. She relaxed considerably though, as this meant the approaching people were not professors. As they neared, she heard a piece of their conversation.
“Can’t believe you went on with the dare! Can’t believe you lied to him!”
Of all the most ridiculous... Dahliya couldn't believe her ears. How could a person do something like that just because someone had dared them, she wondered. All the same, she didn't step otu or say anything; she didn't want unnecessary questions, and besides, they weren't exactly the type of girls Dahliya associated with in the least. She rolled her eyes, but was quite glad that they passed without noticing them. That would have given rise to many awkward questions, unless of course the girls decided to fawn over Joshua. Just as this thought crossed her mind she heard one of the girls say something along the lines of,
"...you know Joshua Cooper? He's SO mysterious.. all brooding and..."
Dahliya didn't catch the last part, but all the same she had to cover her mouth with her hand so she wouldn't laugh. Brooding and mysterious indeed, she wondered silently what Joshua thought of that.
As the footsteps disappeared Dahliya peeled herself off the wall and peered down the hall: nothing. She took one step and then another, until she had reached the stairs. She didn't motion for Joshua to follow, she figured he would, and surpass her too, seeing as he would want to take the lead given that he was the man and Joshua had this odd way of feeling that because of that he should do all that kind of stuff. As she placed one foot on the fourth step a voice broke the silence.
"Stop right there."
She froze, turning on the spot to face whoever it was. Her green eyes fell upon the person who was standing at the bottom and her heart beat quickened. It was a Slytherin boy from her year. He was tall and slightly lanky, with brown hair and he was, in her opinion, kind of icky and always made eyes at Dahliya. She straightened her posture immediately and stared down at him. "I've told you before, I'm not interested. Leave me be." she said, her voice confident though quiet so as not to rouse anyone. Clearly this boy had not yet seen Joshua, for somewhere in her mind she remembered that quite a few of the Slytherins in their year were scared out of their pants when it came to Joshua Cooper.
"Come on Wildflower, reckon we could go for a stroll. Least aways if you don't want to spend detention with me if'n I rat you out to a professor."
Dahliya gave him a look of pure scorn, one she reserved for such people, and crossed her arms. Gone was the nice, timid girl, and now she was annoyed and was tryign valiantly to remain patient. To be honest, she didn't even know his first name, but she did know his last name, and that he was quite crass. "Try as you might, I assure you Bregett that a Professor would believe my story before yours." this was true. Even Professor Snape didn't mind Dahliya, which was saying a lot given that she was a Gryffindor.
The boy faltered a little, for he knew it to be true, but he stood his ground. "Come on Dah-leeya, it'll be all moonlit and fun-like," he drawled.
Her green eyes darted around looking for Joshua. Now would be a good time for him to use his scary "broodiness" to get her out of this pickle, or if he could cause a diversion, SOMETHING; but she thought, with a sinking feeling, that he may have bee-lined it for the common room. If Joshua had left, Dahliya would just have to threaten to hex the guy, and maybe, though she hated to think of it, even hex him and break her third school rule for the night.

-clears throat- Lovely length, overall, Opheliya, but I'm afraid that I can't proceed with Dahliya's application until a correction has been made. To quote directly from the rules: "If your character is an original, whoever accepts your application will sort him/her into an appropriate house based on you application. Don't push for a house, or mention one at all, because chances are - you won't get it." I've noticed that great part of Dahliya's history comes from how she was sorted into 'Ravenclaw'. Please make the necessary changes and I will review your application again

I know you wanted Dahliya on Ravenclaw, but as I read through her personality fields, I saw a lot of Hufflepuff characteristics in there as well. That, coupled with the fact that you mentioned she was in the Quidditch team, and the Hufflepuff team needs all the help it can get...well, Dahliya is now sorted as a Hufflepuff! Welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy your stay with us (:
