Today is just not a good day. Not a good day at all. It started out good and all, but then just went downhill. If everything is going perfectly for like a week it is just going to come to a big screeching halt eventually. This class isn't helping either. No, sir, I do not feel like writing a six mile long essay. And, no, sir, I do not feel like turning it in by the end of the week. I have what some might call a life! Okay, that's a lie.

Wow, are you sure you haven’t confused your own life for mine? You’ve seemed to hit it dead-on (no pun intended). Let’s start over: hey Mafalda, glad life is treating you so fabulously and everything – aha ha, right? Either way, maybe we can salvage what’s left of mine and your sanity and save each other from this nightmare? So how about it? Feel like killing some time?

It seems we're not the only two feeling this way lately. I definitely don't remember the pamphlets advertising Hogwarts as a hormone driven teenage angst-fest. Then again, now that I think about it, Hogwarts wasn't advertised at all. Maybe they should have sent a pamphlet, eh? Anyway, killing time sounds so savage. I'd much enjoy wasting it though. What did you have in mind to discuss my amazing friend with the most beautifully recognizable handwriting ever aka the singing badger.

My, my. Seems we should start of a club – how about “SAB” (Students Against Boredom) or perhaps, “TFF” (Teenagers for Fun)? If not, we could always work on this pamphlet you mention – we can create something that gives not only glorious details on how drone-like professors are but also include daily specials of eat-your-heart-out-drama. My problems drill back to family, but since when is that not an issue? What about you Ms. Hopkirk – family? Boys? Girls? Oh, and thank you: not many times am I complimented upon my scrawl (professors really just complain about it too be honest – “Swan, how come you can’t write any bigger! All these curls and furls are hard on my eyes…”)

A club sounds like a good idea. I see notes flying around all over the place when the professor's back is turned so I'm sure people would join, haha! And, now that I think about it, a pamphlet wouldn't have really changed my mind. The only other school I could go to would have been an all girls school and lets just stop right there. As far as family, girls, and boys go it is just as complicated as ever. I've been witholding things from you, but tonight in the common room I'd love to tell you all about it, perhaps omitting the names? What about you? Any new gossip floating around that I don't know about yet?
P.S. Your handwriting is lovely.

No kidding – all the professors “strictly enforce” their “no notes” policy and yet when you look around, just about everyone gets away with it. I can’t even remember the last time I saw someone get caught. Our club would be filled in no time – perhaps we could discuss these plans later on then? Of course I’d love to meet up with you (I’ve been in need of some good “girl time” lately). I’ll dish out all the dirt if you hang your dirty laundry – naturally keeping all names classified. Or at least try – no need to hurt anyone’s feelings. I have a couple stories to tell, most of which come from a good source. So, I’ll meet up with you after dinner – sound good? (P.S. – Thanks).

You read my mind. After dinner sounds fantastic! I have nothing else to do tonight anyway, except find Mr. Bagman. If he's with a lady friend I probably won't see him until tomorrow anyway though, so it can wait. Haha. After dinner then. Can't wait to hear the latest.

Ooo – “Mr. Bagman” of course referring to Ludo? My Mafalda you walked yourself right into that one. Expect some questions on the matter – after dinner it is! Until then Ms. Hopkirk; I look forward to it.
