“MISS AVERY! How many times do I have to insist you wear your uniform properly?!” snarled a bad tempered ghost who had had it out for Gemma since she’d stated in her third year she didn’t much care for the uniform and started wearing it in a way that at least slightly gave her a sense of individuality.
“My deepest apologies madam… Let me just fix my appearance…” Gemma replied politely. Despite the fact the ghost definitely had it out for Gemma she did try her best to be polite and always wear her correctly when the female floater was nearby, sadly the ghost had a nasty habit of sneaking up on Gemma and surprising her when she was not up to standards.
Gemma smiled politely as she retrieved her tie, cloak, and shoes from inside her messenger bag, glancing about and glaring at the occasional passerby that dared snicker at her. Gemma slipped her shoes on and buttoned her dress shirt up all the way before putting on her tie.
“Really Miss Avery, if you would just wear your uniform in the appropriate manner then we would not have to go through this ever time I came across you in the halls…” the ghost sneered while Gemma pulled on her cloak “And please do something about your hair! You should grow it out like a proper lady and quite using that dreadful hair dye. And fix your socks! The left one is drooping!”
Gemma smiled in strained fashion and tugged up her droopy sock as the ghost left. Gemma waited for a moment until the female ghost was out of sight, then continued to undo all the things she’d just done to fix her appearance…
“Stupid uppity ghost… Always keep getting on my case about my appearance… My teachers are fine with my appearance why can’t you be….?” She growled angrily as she shoved her things back into her bag and shouldered her the bag, then looked around the corridor to see who had just spotted her encounter with the annoying, uppity ghost woman.

Rena stretched her long arms out wide, with an evil scowl on her face. Being woken up by obnoxious fighting was not on her agenda for the day. She mumbled something not very nice under her breath as she arose, rolling her eyes, expressing much disapproval. She had been taking a nice little nap on a bench in one of the corridors when she heard the annoying exchange of ghost and student. She could tell who the ghost was right away, just by the taunting, ugly voice she had heard, but the student responding was a new voice to her. Which means that this was one person who would automatically be on her bad list, along with many others. Rena began stomping up the steps, warning people to get out of her way, because she was on a roll. And everyone knew that when Rena was on a roll, she was annoyed at something. And when she was annoyed at something, it was best not to annoy her further, because, well that just wouldn't be smart. She's always been known for her small temper problems.. Any little thing could get to her and make her change her mood on the fly. That's why so many people automatically advert her. Because Rena is highly unpredictable.
Well either way, as she continued her loud, rude stomping up the stairways, hopping off just before they moved on her, she could tell she was getting closer to the source of the voices that had so rudely kidnapped her from her peaceful slumber. She could tell, because she could still hear the ghost lecturing the student, whomever it may be. She inferred that her last name was Avery, as she had heard the ghost mention it. So she guessed by the last name that it was that Gryffindor girl.. Oh, what was her name? It was some original name, not a common one.. It started with a G, Rena thought, or an L maybe? Though, she shook the thought immediately from her head as she stood, fierce looking with a hand on her hip, in front of the two.
"Could you two tone it down to a dull roar, please?" Rena started off her speech with politeness, something that this girl should be happy for. "Do you know how many people are annoyed and irritated by now?" Actually, Rena didn't even know how many people were annoyed. Maybe she was the only one, maybe everyone else could just tune it out. But either way, not everyone else had been woken up by the trivial clamor.

Gemma just couldn’t resist the urge to growl as she locked eyes with the person brave enough to preach at her… And making her night worse it just had to be Rena Shokes of all people who had gotten up the nerve. It’s not that Gemma hated Rena, she just loathed the girl’s very existence and hoped that one day someone would push her down a flight of moving stairs and cause her to snap her disgusting little neck… But Gemma definitely didn’t hate Rena.
Gemma just ignored Rena as she finished to fix her appearance to the way she liked, almost wishing her ghostly nemesis had stayed instead of being replaced with the serpentine Ravenclaw. But only almost… Ghosts were harder to deal with than anyone, or thing, with substance. After all you could hex or even punch a person, but with ghosts you just kind of either had to comply or run and hope they didn’t follow.
Gemma continued to fix her appearance, only realizing Rena was still standing there when she let her self slip away from her inner thoughts.
“Do you want something or am I just serving as entertainment for your perverse fantasies?” Gemma snarled as she angrily fluffed her bangs and once again shouldered her messenger bag, once she was done she turned to look at Rena “Seriously, are you expecting me to do a back flip or something because you’re in my way.” She pointed out in the same snarling tone.

Rena snorted, and tilted her head back with a small giggle. "Oh, dear dear dear Gemma.." Rena began mumbling, letting Gemma know that the harder she tried, the more she would provoke Rena. "You know, no matter what you think, you're not exactly the scarriest thing around this school.." And it was true. Rena was in no way intimidated by Gemma. Annoyed, yes, scared and intimidated, deffinetly not. She put a nice, innocent look on her face for her next sentance. "In fact, I was merely sleeping. I came up here just to check on what that awful noise was." Rena was still smiling sweetly as she looked at red-faced Gemma's anger growing and growing. "Oh, and about me being in your way, I know I am. It irritates you, so I'm just going to stand right here, and if you don't like that, then you can just go around." Rena was still smirking, and Gemma still looked befuddled.
Rena tried to look calm, and casual, but she was just too pleased with herself. Her parents had always said, "calmness is your enemie's enemy." She had always thought it was a fairly silly expression, and who knows, maybe it was just Ma and Pa's way of chiding her for fighting, which she rarely did anyway when she was a child. She assumed her bored looking, casual positiion, inspecting her fingernails, which was something she always did to appear calm and hold her temper. She was fairly Obsessive Compulsive about winning things like this, and watching her opponent crash and burn. She never held a care for people's feelings in general. "If you're that desperate to get somewhere, then why are you still standing there anyway? Wanting to fight with me, are you?" Rena was still smiling, her hand that did hold a firm position glued to her hip was now at her side, and she had lightened up a bit since she had first walked in the room.
She didn't have any plans on moving out of this position any time soon, and now even less that Gemma wasn't happy with where she was standing. "You have got some serious nerve, you know that?" Rena wasn't smiling anymore, it was more of a half smile, and half scowl if you can picture that. "It's just about the only good quality of yours that I can pick out, considering what you're presenting now." Rena felt severely good about the argument that was going on right about now. Not because she was winning, because she really couldn't tell if she actually was or not, but more because for the first time in a long while, she was having fun. She was doing what she felt like, without the aid of parents or siblings in her way. She liked the feeling, and could deffinetly get used to this. Now granted, when picking a fight is your favorite thing to do, well then, that's not exactly a good thing. But you know what they say, to each his own. And boy was Rena one of her own kind. She wasn't one to follow the crowd, she preferred to go completely against it, which is exactly what she was doing now.
