There was nothing to be said about History of Magic – why was it even a stupid subject? No good could from it; absolutely none. The way she saw it, everything in history had already passed, was long dead and gone, and no one needed to know about it. Life was fine just the way it was – why did they need to learn about something that happened years and years ago? It was ridiculous, and never would she accept it as a decent class. Bella prided herself in being a good student, and if it weren’t for that fact she’d just go and outright fail History of Magic. It was utterly preposterous, utterly absurd – no one needed to know about troll wars that happened forever and a day ago! One day she would convince the school board it was a worthless topic – one day.
So, as I’m sure anyone could imagine, Bella was in every sense of the word dying to get out of the classroom. Her notes were getting weaker and weaker, more abbreviations being added – some of which she couldn’t even remember what they stood for. She had complied about three pages worth – that had to be enough, hadn’t it? Wearily she glanced up at the clock on the far wall – and then sighed; she still had another half hour to kill. She felt like she’d been in their for too long; she really should only have a few minutes. But no, she had thirty to suffer through. Frustrated, she began to write down the lyrics to a song off to the side of her parchment, absentmindedly beginning to hum along. It wasn’t until the professor brought attention to it that she focused back in on the classroom surroundings. “Miss Swan, may I help you with something? Because you’re disrupting the entire class with your singing.” Bella looked up, startled – singing? And singing she was, muttering out the melody quietly. Quickly she snapped her mouth shut and blushed. “Sorry Professor,” she apologized, “Won’t happen again sir.” But it would, she knew it would. “That’s quiet alright,” he squeaked back, clearly irritated though he tried to hide it, “Now, Gorge the Gruesome…” Bella zoned back out again, not bothering to listen past that.
She sighed, trying to make it through the last half hour of class – and then the bell rang. Surprised, she looked up to the clock again to check the right time as if the bell wasn’t enough. And it was time to leave – what had happened to her thirty minutes of silent suffering? She’d been out longer then she had thought apparently. And that was not a bad thing – quickly she bustled about packing her things away and exited the classroom amongst her fellow classmates. It was a relief to be out of History of Magic, adding a happy little bounce almost to her step. She really had no destination in mind, so decide to best fill her time by returning the Common Room for some down time; luckily the lecture today had freed her of having homework. And thankfully she had finished everything else during her free period. For Bella, today was basically over. There was only an hour or two until dinner and after that was simple relaxation time before bed. Yes, the rest of her day was well planned out – the regular routine of Isabella Marie Swan. That said, she set her book bag down by her bed and retrieved her little white rat Mipsy form her cage. “Hey girl,” she greeted the tiny creature and placed Mipsy up on her shoulder. Bella went back down into the Common Room and plopped down into one of the big comfy chairs, allowing her rat to crawl down her arm and curl up in her lap. Lazily Bella ran a finger down Mipsy’s spine, petting her over and over again to the point that Mipsy’s eye lids dropped sleepily and her stomach began to rise up and down in a smooth pattern. Bella silently laughed, wishing she had the simple life like pets did.

His blonde locks fell gently into his eyes as he made his way into the Common Room. He felt his classes would have never ended. It was like complete hell having to sit there quietly and do thousands of pages of notes. Well, not literally, but that's what it felt like to the boy's aching wrist. A gentle sigh escaped his soft, pale lips as he plopped down on a chair near the unlit fireplace as he took out the homework he would have to finish before dinner.
He hated school with a bloody passion. He reached into his book bag to find something to write with when he felt something jump up onto the chair next to him. He looked up and smiled at he pet the small, black cat the sat on the arm of the chair.
"Hello to you too, Luna." He stroked her back gently, getting the cat to purr. ((OoC: Sorry for such a crappy post. >.>))

Bella stared at the fire again, letting her mind wander and run in the endless circles she had been mystified with a lot lately. Eventually she stopped stroking Mipsy, her hand falling gently over the rat’s little body and leaving it there like a shield from the outside world. Her mind was rather far off, and some where in the back of her mind she knew she probably had a glazed over expression. But it didn’t matter much, so distant that it just didn’t matter.
Wearily she blinked a few times, trying to focus back in on the reality at hand. Like the fact that Mipsy warm fur wasn’t ling her palm anymore. Alarmed Bella sat up, eye rushing over the carpet in search of her pet. “Mipsy?” she asked in confusion, wondering where on earth she’d ran off to. Bella looked up weakly, “Oh God.” Mipsy was running as fast as her little legs would carry her towards the far end of the Common Room, right past someone’s cat. Just great.
Bella immediately hopped up and ran after her rat, snagging her by the tail and swinging Mipsy into her hands before the cat could get to her. She sighed and wrapped her fingers more tightly around Mipsy, glancing at the cat with mild disgust. Cats were so annoying, stuck up creates with no passion for anything but themselves. “She yours?” Bella asked the boy, only slightly interested.
OOC: Eh, minimum of three. *Shrugs*

Alex looked up at the girl as she walked up. He had seen her around the school often and he'd seen her in the common room a few times. He had never really spoken to her or made too much contact with her since he was sure she thought of him as a useless little trouble maker like most of the other girls did. His reputation hit him well and he was often glad for it, but there were people he wish didn't get so affected by it. He brushed the blonde locks from his eyes once more, forgetting his search for the quill and ink in his book bag.
He noticed the rat in her hands and smirked as he stroked Luna, causing the cat to purr even more and curl up next to him, looking up and eyeing the creature in the girl's hands. To the black cat, it looked like a wonderful treat and she wanted it more than anything. Alex kept her distracted, though, by scratching behind her ears gently, causing her to shut her eyes and rest her head on her paws.
"Yeah, she's mine. Got 'er when I was a first year. She was a kitten back then." His eyes motioned to the rat in her hands. "I'm assuming 'er almost meal is yours?"

Bella nodded once, trying to picture the cat smaller. Still, she’d never really liked cats. They were too snotty and cared only about themselves. In fact, she could easily relate some students here to the way cats acted. As he gestured towards Mipsy, Bella smiled, more easily able to talk about her rat then discuss the silly cat.
“Mipsy? Yeah, I’ve had her for a while now. She’s rather sociable, likes running off…as you can tell.” Mipsy was squirming in Bella’s grasp, but whether it was from the cats close presence or from wanting to go explore some more she couldn’t be sure. “It’s nice to have her around; I’ve always had a fondest for animals.” She shrugged in differently, taking a seat beside the boy.
“I can’t say we’ve ever properly met,” she said conversationally, crossing her legs and setting Mipsy up on her knee. “I’m Bella, and you are…?” She couldn’t be sure of the boy’s name, certain he was a few years lower and having had no classes together. She could only say she’d ever seen him in the Common Room and during meals. But even then, communication was limited.

Alex smiled ever so gently when he heard she was an animal lover. He could tell she wasn't too fond of cats by the look she had given Luna a few times, but it was all good in his book. It was understandable not to like cats if your best friend pet was a rat. He ran his fingers through his hair and let out a light yawn as she introduced herself. He held up a finger to finish his yawn before he spoke.
"Alexander McEvoy. My friend's call me Alex."
It was different to have people to call friends and he was quite thankful he had some. His smile widened gently at her kindness and friendliness, something he wasn't so used to receiving, especially from girls.

“Alexander McEvoy,” Bella repeated, committing the name to memory. “Well hello Alexander, or am I going to have the pleasure of addressing you as Alex?” She smiled fleetingly and then glanced down at Mipsy, who was putting up quite the struggle. Clearly she didn’t want to be restricted to just being held in her lap. But Bella just rolled her eyes, knowing the rat’s habits by now to know if she dared set her down Bella would never see Mipsy again.
“Well, I’m Isabella Swan if you really want to get technical, but call me Isabella and your days will be numbered, mark my words.” Her words sounded closer to a real threat then the playful one she’d been aiming for, but the topic was a sensitive one as of late. With her mother’s recent and unknown death to the students at Hogwarts, she’d been snappier at anyone daring to call her by her full name – only her mother ever did that; since she was gone, no one would ever call her that again.
“What year are you?” Bella asked after a moment, trying to decided whether he looked more like a third or forth year in her mind. “I’m sixth,” she added, “It’s going to be sad to leave here after next year; I don’t know what I’m going to do. Hogwarts is my only home, and when I’m not allowed to come back…” Bella shrugged indifferently, figuring she had at least the next year to figure it out.
