The soft pitter patter of footsteps upon stone steps echoed across the empty common room, the steps languid and unrushed. It proved most obvious that whomever these steps belonged to, the were in no rush. Well, it was quite early, for a bunch of teenagers on a Sunday, and there was really no reason to be up. Even if one was up, why leave the dormitory? One could simply gossip and speak of the most interest and juicy news that they had. Some spoke of classes, others of boys but Mariella really was not interested. She knew the gossip, she really didn't care about classes right now...and her boyfriend. That thought made a small smile cross her lips while at the same time, a deep blush crossed her cheeks. Instantly she began to bite on her bottom lip, the nervous, anxious habit arising again. Slowly, she reached her hand back and ran her fingers lightly through her hair before setting down in front of the fireplace. This was her place. This was the place she came when she wanted to think, when she wanted to reflect, when she just wanted to be in her own world. Mariella reclined back into the sofa before letting out a long sigh. Not of exasperation, not of annoyance, not of anything that one would guess. It was more of awe...she was just, in shock.
Mariella's eyes stared into the fire, and memories of the previous night flooded her mind. Their date was the most prominent at first. Feeding one another, flying about like the pheromonal teenagers they were, and the passion that they felt with every kiss, touch, caress...Mariella's mind instantly began to reel into that event...Her face was flushing even darker as she sat there, feeling every touch and nip, every kiss, hearing every sound...She was reliving the moment that she would never be able to get back, one that she would never want back....She had done this...this greatest deed with the one whom she loved, and he loved her. It wasn't someone one nighter that was a release of meaningless teenage feeling, something that many had made the mistake of committing. This was a moment that marked a new chapter in their relationship. Mariella's eyes were flickering, but they were soft, gentle in her happier thoughts. Maybe this actually meant they would make it, maybe it meant it was closer to a reality than either one of them would've ever guessed.
Mariella pulled her feet up underneath her, the long black leggings she was wearing inching a bit higher, her thin slippers looking simplistic enough to be socks. An overly large green sweatshirt was on her frame, her curves saved for her breasts hidden. Happiness was obvious on her face, although she did wonder if Kalib thoughts reflected her own. Shaking her head slowly, she knew the answer...Kalib, the words he said to her, the way he held her after and just spoke to her...no, her doubt was disappearing. A soft chuckle passed her lips and she sighed contently. What else could she feel but a amor-esque bliss.

Amazement might be the correct term to describe the rolling waves of emotion running over every inch of his skin. Kalib was good at manipulating words to get a certain reaction, or express what exactly was running through his mind; but he was much better without words, when there were no restrains holding him back. After nights of vain wishing, all the walls were finally down between him and her. Kalib didn’t have to keep up a false charade of who he was, or who he wanted to be; he didn’t have to pretend to be what she wanted, he just was – good and bad. Part of him was still trying to register that it really had happened and he hadn’t just dreamed it all; the other part was slightly worried – he never would regret it, but what of Mariella? Just thinking her name brought a smile to his lips.
Kalib still had yet to leave his dorm. Honestly, he was still rolled underneath his covers with his face shoved into his pillow. He was rather unwilling to move, though part of him was dying to go see where Mariella had snuck off to. Humorously he considered the option that she’d ran to the kitchens, always up and out of bed for a snack. Consumed with his thoughts, he couldn’t take it any longer and pulled himself up out of bed. Pulling on a pair of old shorts and plain t-shirt he left the dorm, unconcerned with his physical appearance at the moment. Kalib quietly went downstairs, not making it very far before he stopped again. This could be really good, or really bad.
Mariella’s back was to him, facing the fire upon one of the sofas. Due to her location, that meant she was as every bit in thought as he was. For the first time since being with her, he was actually nervous about approaching. She was either sitting there because she was happy and mulling over their evening, or regretful and wishing it hadn’t happened. Kalib, this is pathetic, he scowled himself, unable to comprehend that they were in the same room and farther then a foot away. Making up his mind that she was there because she was happy, Kalib silently walked around behind her. Lowering himself into a crouch, he rested his arms on the back of the couch and chuckled “Morning love” into her ear.
OOC: Ick, sorry about the short length; my project has drained me. >.<

Mariella's fingers had begun to twirl her hair tight about her fingers, allowing the slightly curled hair to become even more so. She was just too lost in thoughts to really care about her hair, although she really was doing no damage to her appearance. Biting on her bottom lip, she shook her head slowly, trying to rid her head of those images, at least while she was down here. Her mind couldn't help it however, they just kept drifting...Closing her eyes she could swear she felt him, how gentle he had been...how he knew her complete essence so well...She couldn't help the girlish giggle that spilt from her lips, just too happy!
Mariella's gaze was soft as she continued to be happily enveloped in her thoughts. Her gaze still sat upon the flickering fire, the flames dancing almost as much as her mind was yet at the same time mirroring a similar idea. The flames reached here and there, begging for more and more to consume, to have anything that would be taken under by the fire. They pleaded and begged, their movements becoming more frantic as they tried to live upon the small little bits of wood that refused to be burned any longer. Of course the fire would roar up as soon as it got too low, that was the way enchanted fire worked, but Mariella couldn't help but sigh softly and chuckle. Was this fire like her? She wanted Kalib in her presence, to be in his arms, to be with him. Although, she knew he probably wasn't awake, probably was still tired and away in his dream world. Her hopes that he would just pop up were fading and she didn't want to disturb him. Kalib was a key to her happiness and she, however deeply she had fallen, wouldn't want to feel as a disturbance...Chuckling softly, she shook her head knowing she was different from this fire. Fire did not care if it disturbed as long as it consumed...but she did know the only thing that would really make her fire, her happiness roar would to be with him.
Mariella felt herself jump slightly before a huge inner warmth just seemed to surrounded her body. 'Morning love'. Ohhh, how did he know? When she wanted him the most, he was here. But then of course, Kalib was always there when she wanted or needed him the most. A slow blush had crept from her ears slowly over her cheeks as she smiled and took in a deep breath, relaxing knowing that she could now really be happy. Slowly, Mariella turned herself, catching a quick glimpse of where Kalib was before making her slight dive. She planted a kiss upon his lips, her cheeks glowing, before pulling back and winking. "Why good morning mi amor..." she purred softly, smiling at him. She could only express her happiness, although she did seem a little apprehensive to look him right in the eye. She didn't know what he was thinking, and even with her reassurance in her mind, she didn't want to know. "So...how did you sleep last night?" Of course, there was that soft essence of teasing, something to hopefully making him laugh once again.

Hesitancy – that was not a good sign. Kalib was careful however, pushing his weary thoughts momentarily away, distracted by her soft kiss. After everything that had happen, he still wasn’t used to how sweetly her lips touched his, or any where else for that matter. In all honesty, he probably never would. “So…how did you sleep last night?” Curiosity lifted his expression slightly – could she be serious? For however jokingly she played it off, he could tell she really wanted to know. Reading her eyes had almost become something of a fashioned hobby to him; it wasn’t so hard to see real motives behind the words. Perhaps he was just blowing things wildly out of proportion, because that was always an option, but he actually felt concerned with her words. Could she seriously be doubting his feelings towards her? It was time to get rid of whatever was subtly worrying her.
Instead of answering right away, Kalib pulled himself up and walked around the sofa, sitting down silently beside her. In figuring his response, he stared into the fire, a small smile on his lips. Maybe his little skill had been brushing off on her – Kalib had always found comfort from flames; perhaps she did now too? Slightly comforted, he glanced at her sideways, smiling that crooked smile that she was only able to get out of him. “Amazing,” he answered honestly, hoping that might reassure her, and confirm it to himself. Kalib would never deny that he adored every ounce of time he was able to spend with her, but the last time he’d crossed that line things hadn’t ended so well. He was slightly scared by his own motives; he would never purposefully hurt Mariella, but…old routine was setting back in. He’d done a very good job at remaining faithful, but he couldn’t do it forever. And that, more then anything, frightened him. He hated himself for even considering it, but it might be wiser to try and back off before he really did hurt her, accidentally or otherwise. She deserved someone better then him.
It was useless to try and deny that his brain was running in furious circles. Now was not the time to try and figure such saddening thoughts out. Shoving them away for now, Kalib wound one arm around her shoulder and kissed her forehead, breathing slowly. Relax, he told himself, you haven’t done anything wrong. Quite the opposite – this has to be the first time you haven’t messed up. Relax. As hard as he tried to make himself believe it, Kalib knew he was lying to himself. “And yours?” he questioned casually, hoping to evade any question that might be running through her mind. He wouldn’t be able to lie to her if she questioned his not-so-normal behavior; it was better to just act as though nothing was wrong. And there isn’t. “I hope it was…satisfactory,” he grinned. There were no secrets between them…this was love, or at least he hoped it was. Maybe that’s what scared him so much.
OOC: Dun, dun, dun...! And so it begins... It really is too bad I like making Kalib suffer; he isn't ever going to have a "happily ever after." *Chuckles*
