Kole blushed at Bella’s words.
“ I-I guess I could use some help, if you’re willing to help that is…. And I’m not really that obvious am I? I mean I know I’m not the most secretive person in the world but really!” she squeaked out nervously, reminding herself of a skitter. Which for those of you that don’t speak the language of Kole-ness is a rat… Kole was about to speak more about some ideas she’d had when she to was distracted by the sound of yelling and horse play Outside. “What’s that?” she spoke aloud.
Kole had time to give Bella a quick nod in agreement before the two Slytherin boys made their way over. She watched Bella and the Slytherins’ exchange with curiousity.
“Well hello ladies. Kalib Hemlock, I’m sure you’ve heard of me. This is Zane Ritchie.”Said one of the Snake-ys before sticking his hand out. Kole laughed slightly, catching Bella’s look of disgust
“Yeah, I’ve heard of you,” Bella said lightly, “Bella Swan, this is Kole Wulfe.” Bella slyly nodded in the boys’ direction in what Kole took as a sign to say something.
“Pleasure to meet you…” She was able to get out with a delicate smile and a slight bow. How she was keeping a straight face was truly beyond her….

Zane could not have been more of a dork. “Well of course, I mean, not everyday you get to talk to a pair of admirable boys, wouldn’t you say?” Kalib rolled his eyes, easily covering up for his friend’s foolish words. “Don’t worry about him, he doesn’t really know what to do with himself when he’s surrounded by beautiful girls.” He put his hand out to Kole, “Although a pleasure, I’m sure.”
The Hufflepuff seemed to be eyeing him with some interest, which only boosted Kalib’s pride. These silly girls, falling all over them. He had been good not to mess around with other girls, his hear already won. But what could a little harmless flirting do? Kalib had been a good boy for too long now. His inner self was shinning through again.
“I don’t suppose you’d be interested in getting something to drink with us, would you? It’ll be my treat; you don’t have to worry about it.” There was a silent boys code never to try and impress a girl whom any friend had a liking for. So, naturally after he finished his shake with the Ravenclaw, he turned to the one named Bella. He offered his arm to her, “What do you say?” Zane was already in close proximity of the other girl, and Kalib was surprised to note he seemed a little gentlemen like, his hand outstretched to her with a look of an offer in his eyes. |

Bella put on her best flirtatious smile as he continued to talk. It was easy to fall into the trap of taking his flattery serious, although she had to act as though interested if she ever planned on getting him to try one of the odd ball candies. With any luck, neither of them had heard of the lollipops. When he asked about drinks, she wasn’t so sure…it wouldn’t be advisable to wander off with a pair of Slytherins. She was aware not all of them were the same anymore, due to a friend of hers, but Kalib and Zane seemed to be the sort that laid the stereotype down upon them.
But hey, if she didn’t have to buy them, what the heck? She lopped her arm through his, saying politely “I don’t see why not. We had actually been on our way to go get a few hot chocolate. If you’re willing to pay for them I see no reason to deny.” Her tone was light a fluffy, something she normally would avoid. Any dork would realize she’d never play for a boy. Kalib didn’t seem to care.
She had to smile apologetically at Kole though; she had to get stuck with Zane. He had a cute charm to him, she couldn’t deny it, his dark hair wind blown, but he seemed a bit of a jerk too. She couldn’t truly support it though; I mean, she hardly knew him. A name, face, house and age. That didn’t do her a whole lot of good. |

Kole shot a dazzling smile towards Zane, putting up the front of a girl who was truly falling for him… AS IF! But she played along and looped her arm through his, with just a light amount of eyelash fluttering. Oh she was going to have to scrub later….
“ So tell me Zane, are you currently seeing anyone?” she asked in a flirty, feminine voice that was so fake it made Barbie seem real. Oh yes, not only was she going to have to scrub later, but now she was going to have to gurgle soap to get the feel of those words out of her mouth!!
But it would all be worth it as long as they ate those suckers… Plus the offer of a free drink sounded absolutely divine! As long as it was them and not her dear friend Bella paying she’d take it upon herself to order the most expensive drink she could…
A little voice in Kole’s mind reminded her that it was mean to pull them along and to take advantage of their hospitality, but she quickly told the voice to shove it and let her enjoy herself.

Kalib nodded curtly and waved a hand towards the door. This was no place to get a drink, and he had a feeling they would have a much better time at the little shop down the street that as a general rule of thumb, he stayed clear of: Madam Puddifoots. Kalib was a bit suspicious of why the two seemed so eager to come along, but let none of it confuse his features. If they wanted to play, he was all for it.
Beside them, Zane seemed to be animatedly intrigued with the Ravenclaw girl. “Actually I’m very much a single man. I like to keep my options open, a clear view of all around me…” God he was full of himself. “Of course I’m always willing to try new things,” he had added suggestively. Kalib wanted to laugh at him – did he really think he stood a chance with her?
“So, Bella is it…tell me about yourself, what really goes on in the mind of yours.” The girl seemed willingly enough to tell him, going on about her crazy mother and runaway father. She seemed unmoved by the personal topic. “How very bold of you, living on your own. I wish my mom would let me do that…darn woman.” He escorted her to a table, pulling a chair out as Zane mimicked him. “Order whatever you’d like,” he offered pleasantly, sitting beside his fake date for the day. He occupied himself with the little frilled menus. |

Bella strolled along side him, hugging his arm a little closer, like she really wanted him or something. Honestly, how could a boy be so dense? Zane seemed to be worse then Kalib, going on about his marital status. She just might have to kill herself if he actually tried to hook up with Kole. It was only a matter of time. It would be worth it to watch the boys laughing at nothing and ditch them mid way.
At the mention of wanting to know her, Bella went into her shortened life story about how her mom had given her up adoption, about her father whom she still didn’t know and that she had ways of getting on over the summer without a set of parents waiting for her. He actually seemed interested.
She wanted to laugh as the came to Madam Puddifoots – boy, they really were full of themselves, weren’t they? She thanked Kalib politely and sat down as he pulled up a chair next to her. Order anything she wanted eh? Bella began skimming for the most expensive drink she could find. |

Kole pretended to listen intently to what Zane had to say, allowing a delicate and innocent blush to play on her cheeks at his suggestive comment. Dear Merlin, this was disgusting to do! Kole was just glad no one she knew could see her doing this, other than Bella that is but she was in on the joke…
Merlin, if Remus or any of her roommates could see this Kole would never live this down! Even if their little trick did turn out she’d probably have to change her name and transfer to the States! Thankfully she was sure she wouldn’t have to do something like that…
Kole’s eyes nearly bugged when she noticed where they were going. Not Madam Puddifoots! Anywhere but there!! That was the classic date place around here!! And yet somehow she was able to keep down her comments and go inside with a smile, graciously sitting in the chair Zane had pulled out for her.
“Thank you, Zane.” She told him in the same flirty and feminine tone she’d used previously, then started to skim the menu for something obnoxiously expensive.

Kalib vaguely wondered how exactly this all would turn out. Bella had to be insane if she thought he was going onto another mess in the world of dating. He’d only just gotten over his last girlfriend and the trouble all that had caused him. In fact, he wasn’t even single as Zane had so clearly pointed out that he was. Kalib couldn’t be infatuated with anyone else; he was taken. Did the Hufflepuff need to know that? Of course not.
She finally spoke up and mentioned some long title of what he only caught was something having chocolate in it. He pinpointed it on the menu and noted it wasn’t a cheap buy. No matter; he had money. “And what about your friend, Kole is it?” he asked politely although certain he knew it.
Bella began busying herself with her bag from the candy shop and pulled out a lollipop. He unwrapped it and sucked on it in a rather cute manner, like she was a little five year old or something. She had noticed him watching her, “Want one? I have plenty.” She’d held one out to him. What the heck, I can humor her. |

Bella scanned along the list of drinks, spotting something that caught her attention quickly – it was chocolate it it didn’t come free. “Ooo, I want the Triple Chocolate Fudge Smoothie, a delicate blend of three chocolates and a few strawberries thrown in for a delightfully splendid taste!” she rattled on, quoting the menu. $4.99.
As Kalib asked Kole about her drink, Bella dug out a lollipop and unwrapped it, tossing it in her mouth smoothly. She hadn’t had time to slip to Kole that she’d gotten a few regular lollipops, conveniently the same color as their laugh filled ones. She caught him eyeing her, just as she’d planned. “Want one? I have plenty,” she offered, taking one of the test-run lollipops and holding it out to him. She kept her face calm as he took it.
Zane was watching her now, and she gave a small giggle. “Oh, don’t worry, you can have one too if you want. Here,” she said, holding out another one of the strange lollipops to him. Zane eagerly took it and began to unwrap his own. Only a matter of time now. “Kole?” she asked, holding out a perfectly fine lollipop that wouldn’t throw her into a fit of giggles. |

“ I think I’d like a chocolate buzz... A cool, blended drink with a shot of espresso and a an equal blend of powdered Honeydukes chocolate and some of our famous hot cocoa mix… Only $5.25.” Kole commented with a light smile, carefully watching as Bella offered out the suckers “I guess….” She replied when she was offered one as well, carefully taking it and wondering what Bella was up to.
Kole unwrapped the sucker and put it in her mouth, a burst of lemony flavor coating her taste buds. Yum! And better yet there was no laughing side affects!
‘Bella must have grabbed a few normal suckers as well….’ She decided as she gingerly sucked on her sucker, still having no sudden fits of giggles, watching to see what would happen to the boys. Kole hoped it would be worth having to associate with these nasty Slytherins…
‘ You know, Zane is being quite nice! It’s going to be very mean of you…’ commented Kole’s conscious, which was quickly shoved in her mental closet so she could be fully entertained when the side-affects of the suckers took hold of the boys.

Kalib took his time unwrapping his lollipop, wondering why Bella had been so keen on giving everyone one. But both her and Kole were sucking on their own happily enough, and nothing was happening to them. Still…he was wry. It might explain why they’d been so eager to accept their offer to come with them. He glanced over to Zane, whom was already licking his own and nothing was happening. Kalib had just put his own into his mouth when Zane started to chuckle.
“What’s so funny?” he asked casually, wondering if perhaps Kole had just said something to him that he had found as a joke. But quickly Zane’s small laughter sky rocketed and he was nearly in tears form laughing so hard. He pulled out his own sucker quickly, but it was too late.
All of the sudden, Zane’s laughter seemed funny to him and he joined in. Everything was funny – Zane’s laughing sounded funny, Bella’s smug look was funny, the people staring at him were funny, Kole’s expression was funny. He gripped his stomach, laughing yet harder. Bella leaned over to him, placing a finger under his chin to lift his gaze to her. Her face was dangerously close to his, which was funny. Was she going to kiss him? That would be funny too. But then her lips, so close to his, murmured “Gotcha.” Bella was standing in a heartbeat, but he didn’t catch what she said to Kole, although he thought it was funny. Kalib couldn’t stop laughing. God, what was in those things…and when would it wear off? |

Bella was slightly alarmed – Zane had already began to munch on his lollipop and nothing was happening to him – had she given him a regular one by mistake? But then he laughed quietly, but neither girl had said anything. And then quite suddenly he was in a fit of laughter, practically choking on his sucker.
The look of horror on Kalib’s own face didn’t last long – he began to laugh as well, both now seemingly dying of laughter. Bella’s lips formed a smirk of pure bliss. She laughed, but on her own accorded: “Kole, this was so worth it. Hopefully it’ll take a while for it to wear off…”
She leaned over to Kalib and cropped his chin up to hers with one finger, a look of pure longing in her eyes as she leaned into him. She had his attention, his lips slightly puckered – the sorry soul. “Gotcha,” she brethed to him and then let him drop, standing up and grabbing her bags. “Well boys, it’s been fun. Kole, would you like to say goodbye to your dear Zane?” She laughed, watching Kalib slowly register what was going on but unable to do anything about it.

When Kalib started to laugh Kole followed Bella’s lead and stood up. She turned to Zane, grinning.
“ Sorry, but you’re just not my type.” She said and gave a small bow before heading to quickly get her Chocolate Buzz… The drink had sounding quite appealing when she’d ordered it after all.
Kole tried to ignore the people staring at their table and the two Slytherin boys that were now nearly choking on their laughter as she slipped inbetween the tables and neared the counter.
“ Excuse me, I’d like to get the Triple Chocolate Fudge Smoothie and Choclate buzz ordered at table five to go please… Our companions are being absolutely boorish and we just can’t stand it anymore.” She explained to the woman at the counter. The woman nodded in an understanding way, glancing at the laughing boys, and heading in back to get her the drinks.
Kole only had to wait a moment or two before the lady reemerged holding the drinks in her hands.
“ I hope you enjoy.” She said as she handed them over.
“ I’m sure we will, by the way our companions will still be paying for our orders.” She informed the lady with a smile before walking back to Bella.

Through Kalib’s undeniable laughter, he could feel the anger boiling inside him. Maybe this was a karma thing all over again. Against his better wishes, he found himself thinking I wasn’t going to do anything! I’m perfectly fine with my girlfriend now! What did I do wrong? It’s those idiotic girls who should be in trouble! It was very true – he had no interest in keeping Bella around; but why did his one day fling have to end this way?
They were already gone, smirking as they passed carrying the drinks he could still have to pay for. Zane was complaining loudly, wondering why Kole had left him. Apparently he had been convinced he’d found a new girlfriend. It sounded insane through his laughs, like he’d lost his mind.
Kalib had a hard time getting up, holding the table through balance which for some reason seemed funny. He couldn’t stand up? How hilarious! Zane was in no better shape, slumping over to him to swing a near drunken arm around Kalib’s shoulder to his own steadiness. “Man, that Raven was hot. Can we go find her? I bet she’s a good kisser, where did she go…” Zane apparently believed his words were funny, practically falling off before Kalib managed to snatch him back up. “We…are not…finding them…” Why was that funny? After throwing a bill down on the table (which was of course funny) the two staggered out after the betraying girls, ready to go find some real company. |

Zane looked almost heartbroken through his wide grin when Kole turned him down, wandering off to the counter. Leaving Zane and Kalib to their laughter, Bella giggled herself over the doors, sucking happily on her sucker. Kalib looked to secretly outraged with her but couldn’t actually do anything with that anger. He was so helpless against the laughter of the lollipop.
Kole returned momentarily with both drinks in her hands. Bella smiled, “I would tell you thanks, but it seems we get two free drink, doesn’t it?” She smirked and turned heels to the door and swung them open, the Slytherin boy’s laughter cutting off as the doors swung lightly closed behind them. She could see them through the windows, trying to get up. It was comical beyond all belief.
Bella let out a loud resounding laugh. “That was so worth it! Look at those two!” She waved to them but neither took notice, trying to walk towards the exit. “Ooo, time to go Kole!” She didn’t want to be around them once they regained control. Bella grabbed Kole’s wrist and rounded the streets corner just as she heard them come out of the shop. When she was certain they’d headed the opposite direction, Bella grinned. “We’ll definitely have to do that again some time.” |
