Ok everyone, I want to know who's your favorite Harry Potter character you've ever come across! Come on let's here what ya have to say.
I have two favorite characters. First off, Sirius of course. And secondly, Mrs. Weasley, lol she's just so sweet you've got to love her!

Sirius is top of the list. After that, I've always loved Lupin. I love them both so much! *Huggles characters* I think I like Sirius because he sort of reminds me of someone I know, and I love Lupin because he's more of a firm version of Sirius, like, they're similar it's just Lupin has more...like, "responsibitly" about him. Not EXACTLY the right word, but, well, close enough. ;-]

At risk of sounding cliché, I find Draco Malfoy an interesting character in the books. I guess reading too much GW/DM fanfiction does get to you after a while XD But I really love that ferret-y boy. Second runner up would definitely have to be Sirius. Yes, because we're all like that
You know, we should have like a section where we can recommend Marauder Era fanfiction. Haha, I know that's completely off topic, but just now I got to thinking about fanfiction...hmm.
Anyway, on defense on my favorite character, I think that everyone makes wrong decisions in their life every once in a while...

Well, I've already said it before, but I guess I'll say it again: I love Snape. He's sooo darn interesting! At first it's just like, oh, he's mean, and that's it. But as you go through the books, you realize just how much of an impact he's had on events. He's freaking smart, he's talented, and yet his life's been total crap. And in the last book... Well everyone knows what happened in the last book, but it's just so mch more clear how clever this guy is... He's a double agent, you know? Totally interesting... ;D Second would probably have to be Lupin. I've always liked Lupin, he just seems so nice.

See, I don't EXACLTY have anything "against" Snape per say...it's more of the fact that he killed Dumbledore and I'm just going with the flow of hating him because James and Company, plus Harry dislike him. I've inherited the gene. ^_^ lol. But, I mean, I won't deny Snape's an interesting character. I agree with the whole talented but crappy life. I'm hoping with this being the last book coming out and whatnot there will be a chapter where we learn what exactly happened to him, you know? And what on EARTH he said to make Dumbledore trust him...

I personally have to agree with Hemlock entirely. Sirius is my favorite, followed shortly by Lupin for the exact same reasons Hemlock's stated. I also like Tonks, in all her clumsy cheerfulness, but when I first started reading I really liked Hermione. It was all about Sirius and Lupin when they showed up in book three, though. :D
As for Snape... I've hated Snape all along... all until that one chapter in the Deathly Hallows... Now I don't hate him anymore... I just think he's pathetic. :P It's... sweet? in a way, but it's pathetic.

My favorite characters are Sirius and Draco Malfoy.
I'm annoyed by Hermione and Mrs. Weasley. But the latter redeems when she fights Bellatrix in Deathly Hallows.

^^My opinion of Snape exactly. Yeah, he didn't really have the best time, but that was no excuse to be a real git, which he mostly was. And I also dislike him because Sirius and James did.

Excuse me, has anyone here actually read the Seventh Book?
Snape's a freakin' hero! His life was a sad story, topped with an unhappy ending. He never hated Harry, he just hated James - and with good reason. Not only did the man bully him ceaselessly when he was younger, he ended up stealing from him the only person he ever truly loved. Harry just looked exactly like James, it was like being at school with him all over again.

Favourite character? I'd have to say Bellatrix Black. She is just such a complex character, but at the same time her mind is always on one track - what to do to best please the Dark Lord. One of the best bits in the book is when she 'spoke to Voldemort as if to a lover'.
It really got me thinking - did she actually have feelings for Riddle that went past the simple dynamic of Master and Lieutenant?

^^I thought of the same thing about Bella.
You know what I think? It would've been better if Voldemort came back looking as Tom Riddle. I mean, hell, if there has to be a Dark Lord, at least let him be handsome!

Has been since the 1st book. I've always believed in that oily-haired man =3 I also love Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy... I used to be a DM/HG shipper, actually. And a SS/HG shipper. In my little black heart, Hermione remains a Granger, never a Weasley. Bah to HG/RW, bah! Sorry... I'm still a little bitter. I knew is was inevitable, I've just never liked it.

I absolutely love Luna Lovegood! She is so sweet and innocent! She also has this eery/spacey side to her that I absolutely love!

Bellatrix. I know i know, boo-hiss. But seriously? She was freakin wicked!! I mean I would not have liked her if I had actually, like, you know, went to Hogwarts, but as a character she is phenomenal. I guess I was really attracted to the fact that she was powerful. And a girl! She was one of the only female Death Eaters who actually did anything. I have to give her props for that even if she is evil. Crazy is a good color on her. (as a side note I loved Helena Bonham Carter playing her, but I liked Bella before that anyway.)
On a lighter note I also liked Fred and George. They were just too much fun.
As for the Snape thing, I liked him in the beginning, and I ended up liking him in the end. I can only attribute this falling out to the fact that Harry annoyed the sh*t out of me when I first started reading the series. As he grew on me, obviously I started to dislike Snape a bit. But I still thought he was deep & interesting, though kind of gross (the greasy thing really turned me off).

*blinks*
Wow, I cannot believe that I haven't posted here yet.
Anyways I'll start off by saying that Sirius is my absolute favorite HP character and always will be. (And I was so pissed when they butchered up the movie part where you're supposed to see him at fifteen and it was all BLURRY and so un-pensieve like. I had been counting down to when that movie came out for 92 days! And that was the part I was most looking forward to!! *seethes*) But I've ranted about that before many times so I'll stop lol. But yeah, he was my favorite. And it was so unbelivably sad when he died. I actually had horribly sad dreams afterwards... yeah, I get waaay too attached to characters. The third book is my favorite (because of him - that was not a completely unrelated thought).
Anyway I also love (Yes, I like other characters too ) Luna Lovegood. Because she is so funny and amazing and really doesn't care what people think of her and has that knack for telling the truth when it's something people know but kinda don't say and is just so cool and an amazing friend. I looooooove the actress who played her in the movies - she was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. And I'm so glad they put in the line 'You're just as sane as I am' because that was hilarious and made up for some of their other errors (SOME, not the Sirius thing of course xD) But it was upsetting that they didn't put in the whole thing where Luna says 'That man that died , he was your godfather, you were close weren't you?' (Okay its not perfect but the point is the same) And then Harry says 'Yeah' and she says 'My mom died when I was little, she was a fabulous witch but one of her experiment's backfired... (and goes on)' and Harry says 'Oh, I'm sorry to hear that' (or something) and she says 'Yeah well it's not like we'll never see them again' and he's like 'what do you mean?'
And she says 'Well you heard them too didn't you? The voices behind the veil?'
Now I just loved this line because it showed a slightly empathetic and different side to Luna then we had seen and made her much more three dimensional, in my mind. And yes I realize that I memorize way to many parts. ("Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon, doesn't mean we all do" - Haha I'm sorry, it's a good quote and I have this habit where stuff gets memorized unconsciously and I quote it... Okay I'll shut up now.)

Hmm so Sirius was definitely one of my favorites, but ever since I started playing Reg he has quickly become my all time favorite...though I'm not sure if it's JK's Regulus I like or my own, since I seem to have based a lot of my liking Regulus off inferences I made, but you gotta love the guy for the simple fact that he died a noble death trying to destroy the Dark Lord.
Beyond that is just all my theories about a boy who always tried to do right by his parents who had trouble showing any sort of affection, in particular his mother. He's not a bad guy just someone put in bad situation after bad situation. He was naive, but not stupid and when he realized what was really going on he tried to stop it. It just ended up being too little too late.
