I know there is a restriction on females, but I had the time to make up the profile, so if you don't mind me positing it, I'll fix up anything that needs fixing up, and if possible, I guess put it on hold.
ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Name: Sable Marie Salem
Age: Eleven
Gender: Female
Year: First
Celebrity: Dakota Fanning ( I think... ? )
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties: Sable is not considered beautiful, in fact, the little one barley seems to stand out. It is not to say she does not have beauty. At first glance one notices the deathly pale skin and long boney narrow nose on her small face. Sable, unlike most kids her age stays up well past the hour when most kids are asleep. This, in turn gives her eyes a dark, sunken appearance.
Her eyes slightly to big for her face, the iris an indistinguishable color seen as brown but in light appearing a mossy green. The iris growing darker as it reaches the pupil, until it becomes a never-ending black. If one looks long enough into the eyes of this child, they become lost. Sable's eyes are like a window to her soul. Troubled, yet one may find some beauty in it.
The little one's forehead, slightly larger than average holds her thick, yet nearly visible eyebrows, naturally sculpted growing thinner as the reach the child's hairline. With no bangs, her forehead as bloodless as the rest of her body protrudes aiding as it washes into the nose making it a focal point of the child's face.
When one reaches her smile, Sable has thin, cadaverous lips. Although not seen too often, Sable's smile causes her laugh lines to show ever so slightly. Her chin also comes to a point, just as an Egyptian kinds may. To hold her head upon her head, a long, thin neck, usually hidden with her mane like faint yellow hair holds it in place. It can easily be said that Sable wears her emotions on her face.
Physique: Standing at 4'11'' Sable is slim, taking after her father. She is considered petite in every sense of the word. Her feet and fingers dainty, slim and pale resembling a skeleton. Her limbs lanky, almost fragile at first glance. They do not appear proportional to the rest of her body. Not a single muscle seems to hang off her bones. Her body, radiates a colorless, deathlike glow in the sunlight, often giving her a sickly, wax-like appearance. Though, dispute her ghastly glow, Sable is considered average.
Clothing, especially her new school robes seem to hang off her petite form, leaving her a sloppy, somewhat uncared for look. With washed-out blonde hair, usually always at her shoulders, down, and never neatly brushed, Sable still wears the appearance of youth. Her hair, just past her breast at the longest point, has many layers to it.
With thick eyebrows deep-set, matching the poor color of her hair, they appear to be invisible much of the time, especially in pictures, thick, yet dull. With eyes too large for her face, almond-shaped in nature long, white lashes fallow, curling just at the tip.
The young one has very few distinctive features, Sable has but one birthmark on her left shoulder-blade. There is no history with it, Sable was just born with it. The little one sports a few scars on her arms, from her enthusiastic love for sports, especially growing up. Most scars already healed, leave but a small white line, that's hard to tell apart from the rest of her waxen skin.
Personality:Sable is fastidious, she always seeks perfection from within herself. This is greatly influenced by her father. She has a great need to be loved and appreciated. Sable, seems innocent, unassuming and shy. She is very conscious of her social proprieties. She would not think of doing anything that would harm her father's image or reputation. Appearances count. The little one is often seen as a no-nonsense, action-oriented individual.
Liking authority, Sable is much of a problem solver. She enjoys challenges both in school, and socially. She is not a social butterfly, but more so self reliant. The little one is not a person to take charge, rather she listens to higher authority, such as her father. She is not bold in any sense of the word. Though, competitive in her studies, Sable enjoys to be by herself, often enveloped in a novel of some sort. She is very reserved, yet practical. Sable enjoys knowing details, and often is very inquisitive because of that.
Sable is very sensitive. She is analytical, and often conscientious about much around her, including herself. She is a hard judge on herself. Sable is enthusiastic and energetic once she gets to know someone. Though, not spontaneous, the little one is often creative, and able to think of new ideas fairly quickly. If in the presence of good company, Sables laughter becomes infectious.
Not very verbal, Sable is not a risk taker. She wouldn't ever enjoy popularity, or change. The young one prefers to do things on her own. Being non-demanding Sable is calm, and adaptable. She often is very routine, and a good listener. Due to her father, Sable is often striving for her best, and trying to impress her father. Some day, she hopes she can bring him back from his troubled past.
Likes: Pumpkin Juice, rain, snow, jeans, books, writing, chap-stick, music, hockey and baseball, flip flops, the color Grey, big sweatshirts, grilled cheese sandwiches, candles, sidewalk chalk, and Fall.
Dislikes:Her father's friends, muggle inventions, iced tea, hot weather, fish, peanut butter, non-routine daily life, popularity, group projects, risks, change, spontaneously, herself and the thought of living up to her fathers standards.
History:Salem. If you know of the existence of the magical realm and you've lived in America, this is a name that is all to familiar. And it is almost never associated with some thing good. Sangrie Salem was the first started his own money lending business in the early nineteenth century. He was a fair man who lent large sums of money with low interest, but when a payment was not repaid, he would get violent. And thus, the Salem mafia was formed. They would never however, refer to themselves as a mafia, and they managed to make all their clients disappearances look like it had nothing to do with them when every one knew exactly who it was.
This tradition was carried down the generations, all the way down to Vladamir Salem the fifth who was still ruling the mafia with the same iron fist as his ancestors, in the early twentieth century. Some where down the line, the Salem mafia became not only a money lending business but also a group that was very much against any one who was not a pure blood. Claims were made that they were in league with the Death Eaters. They were very much their own organization; although very many of them did become Death Eaters in the end, as the group merged together.
Vladamir Salem the fifth chose not to name his son after himself but to give him a name that he had always favored. Nickolai Salem. Perhaps it was the change of name for the boy of such devilish relations, but he never listened to his father. He rebelled against every thing his parents told him and this stayed with him as he grew. His parents assumed that he would one day grow out of it but he never did. Quite the contrary, it only got worse as he got older.
When the time came for Nickolai to wed, his parents assumed that he would settle down with a nice pure-blooded woman, as they had planned for him to. But he never listened to any thing he said and he fell madly in love with a half British, half Italian woman named Giacinta Farfalla Marcuccilli. Nickolai and Giacinta spent every free waking moment together and when they weren't together, they thought about each other. But Nickolai's parents were more than displeased with his choice. Giacinta was nothing that they had wanted for their son, and every thing they had hoped to avoid.
To begin with, Giacinta knew very little about her heritage. Her own mother was no where to be found when needed most and her father, who named her for his mother, died when she was very small. Not being able to stand the thought of being stuck in a country where she knew nothing about the culture and couldn't even speak the language, Giacinta and her mother felt unease so she moved the two of them back to London where she felt they belonged. Giacinta got older and her thirst for her heritage, to discover who she was on her father's side of the family only grew. Her thirst turned into knowledge, and then curiosity to learn more. Nickolai was happy to come to London with Giacinta, where he too would attend Hogwarts.
Giacinta's mother sent her to Hogwarts, where she had gone and most of their ancestors before them. She was sorted into Ravenclaw and spent all of her Hogwarts career, learning every thing about Italy she could find. She learned to speak the language, learned the social classes, the cultures, and some how in her search, managed to get very high grades in her class. Her father, on the other hand was sorted into Slytherin, making his own family very proud. This did damage their relationship a little, though they were able to overcome it.
Nickolai and Giacinta became close friends, though Vladamir never approved of them having any form of relationship. Nickolai and Giacinta only became closer as time passed and soon, Nickolai went to his father with a request to marry her. Vladamir was furious and forbade the marriage, as Nickolai knew he would. So he and Giacinta decided to have a child together, knowing that to avoid any more legal complications then necessary, with his already bad reputation, Vladamir would allow them to marry. And their plan worked beautifully. Or at least for the first few years.
On October 21, after a little over half a year of bed rest, Giacinta gave birth to not one, but two children. The girls were named for Giacinta's two best friends. They did so their children would have the same initials, which they believed, would make the children remember who their family was, not matter how old they got or how far they went in life. But that one day they would look at their own name and remember their siblings and their family. A few hours after birth, one of the children died, leaving Sable Salem on her own, the only child.
Nickolai and Giacinta lived their own house with their child, but once the child had learned all the things she was supposed to, walking, potty training, beginning to speak, Nickolai was furious. He demanded that Giacinta leave his house once and for all, saying that her time in the house was over, and her need as a maternal figure to the single child was no longer required. This, simply happened because Giacinta had gotten into some trouble with another male, though he was not a pure blood, he was a vampire.
Giacinta had gotten herself into some trouble, believing that living forever with the un-named vampire would be the best life she could ever have. Giacinta had always had some fascination with Vampires. So, December 25, Giacinta became one. Immediately Nickolai and Giacinta had gotten into a fight. Nickolai was wounded horridly, though, Giacinta, not wanting to take the responsibility of her own child, yet having the heart not to kill her, turned Nickolai into a Vampire himself, cursing him to a lonely world of wandering. Giacinta had left the family for good.
For you see, Vladamir had then disinherited Nickolai, but he never applied the same fate to the little one. In his eyes, she had done nothing wrong but to be born to the wrong mother and for this he would not penalize them, but give them the option of moving back to Italy to live with him and train so they would know how to do evil. After all, she was his successors. But moving to Italy also meant that the little one was never allowed to talk to her father again.
Fearing her father, as she grew up, Sable was not aware of most of the things he was involved in. The mark on his forearm always seemed to glow a faint green before her father disappeared leaving her in the care of a few nanny's. The twosome were well off, and had no problem affording the extra help. Sable had never questioned her fathers fangs, nor had she shown an interest in them.
On her Eleventh Birthday, a letter to Hogwarts appeared via owl. Sable's father was very proud of her, hoping that she would follow in his footsteps. He had gotten everything prepared for the little one, buying her new robes, getting a wand, anything the little one needed for the day.
ABOUT YOU
Name: Charleigh
Years of Experience: Over Five
Sample Post:
Adrianna couldn't believe that almost half of the first term was over and she had not had time to go outside and enjoy the stars like she usually did. Even at home it was an almost daily ritual to take a walk outside and watch the stars. And then, last year she had taken to doing the same at school. She had even walked up all the stairs to the Astronomy Tower a couple of times to watch the night sky.
And now, for the first time all term, she had decided to fall back to her old habit. Ria grabbed a light jacket to ward off the chill of night before making her way to the school grounds. Once outside Ria just stood still to take in the crisp scent of the cool night air. She couldn't believe that she had waited so long to do this again. No matter what Ria had always taken the time to take her walks, but this year she had been neglecting it. It was a thought that just wouldn't get out of her head. Finally, Ria just shrugged it off, already promising herself that she would start coming out much more often, homework or not.
After walking around the Quiddtch Pitch and around a bit of the castle Ria decided to find a nice spot and write in her diary for a bit. Just another thing she had been neglecting since she had returned to Hogwarts for her second year. Adrianna decided to go to her favorite spot from the year before to write and turned toward the lake. Even from such a far distance she could see the lake gleaming in the moonlight with one of the tentacles belonging to the squid hanging out of the water. Adrianna smiled softly at the familiar sight before picking up her pace.
Once Adrianna made it to the lake she pulled out her wand and casted the light spell. "Lumos!" Instantly her wand lit up. Ria pulled out her diary and a muggle pen before settling down against her favorite tree. She wasn't sure what kind of tree it was, but for some reason the familiar spot comforted her. Adrianna opened up her diary and began to write about her year so far by the light of her wand and the moonilight.
By the time Adrianna closed her diary with a light snap, the moon was already near the middle of the sky and many stars and constellations were more visible. Ria relaxed for a little while longer, pointing out some of the more familiar constellations before pulling herself up and walking down the lakeshore to make her way up to the castle. All of a sudden, Ria saw someone ahead. Whoever it was was laying down in the grass. Ria stopped and stared confusedly for a moment before moving closer to the unknown person, trying to see if she knew who it was.
Then, the girl sat up and jerked, most likely hearing Adrianna's footfall, and turned her way. Ria blushed, embarrassed about scaring the other girl. "Ummm, hi. I didn't mean to scare you." Adrianna let out a little nervously before looking to see if the other girl wouldn't mind that she had interupter her solitude.
