Character of the Moment: Everyone has had the honor of role playing with her. With either one character, or the next, she’s made sure her presence is known around our beloved site. I am proud to announce she is the well-deserving Female COTM here at ISS. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you Kelsey, as Indigo Grace!
Activity: Kelsey's activity level is high. She's always on at least thrice a week, and if she's going to be away, she always makes sure to post up a notice to let everyone know about it. Even that doesn’t happen often, and Kels happens to be one of our most active members, so cheers to her for that! ^^
Character: Have you seriously read this girl’s application? If you haven’t, you’re surely missing out. Not only does she do a great job of describing her character’s personality, but she’s always, always in character. And even if Indigo does something strangely out of character, there is always some solid reasoning behind it, so it all blends in to make one of the best characters out there. Kelsey knows her character well, and always makes sure that there’s something in her posts that highlights it. She isn’t afraid of accentuating her character’s flaws, and when she brings out the best of them, they always, always, shine through. Far from being a Mary-Sue, Kelsey wasn’t afraid of bringing us something refreshingly original, and cleverly explored. Not only that, but as the threads progress, we all have seen how Indigo has grown, right along with Kels. She’s not afraid to explore new areas that might suddenly develop, and always manages to make them seem like they’ve been there all along.
Threads: I’m a fan of Indigo Grace, in case you haven’t noticed it by now. She was one of the first characters I role-played with, and man, I have to admit that she has helped me grow in a lot of things. With her, you always exceed the minimum, as her paragraphs are always full of new openings for you to reply to. She keeps things real, and so firmly planted that there’s no way your character can’t react to that. A way with words that not many people possess, she takes you right there, to where the scene is taking place, and manages to make the sensations ever present. You forget for a moment that it isn’t real, that it was something someone wrote.
Character Log: If you can’t see the effort that’s been put into this, you’re certainly blind She always keeps up to date, posts back if you posted first, and not to mention, she’s got a lot of relationships going on. Not only friends, but enemies, annoyances, old boyfriends…you know how it rolls. As far as graphics go, she’s got some lovely Indigo icons in there that spruce it up quite nicely and give it a personal touch that many c-logs lack.
Journal: I always look at Indigo’s journal for some updating on the whole Ethan relationship, I can’t lie. But more than that, it’s endearing, the way it reflects her thoughts so clearly, and she makes an effort to keep up on the relationship between her in-character threads and the posts in there. Not to mention, the biting sarcasm in there makes her keep it real. Her posts in there are lengthy and chunky, something that surely tells you that there’s a lot going on inside of Indigo’s mind. She’s a vivacious character, and her journal posts are just too rich with description and imagery. Also, she keeps us posted with what’s going on with Indigo’s family life, and we get to see on Indigo stripped of any facades she might up. No censoring on her thoughts and you can almost picture her, huddled in some corner, scribbling madly away. Of course, she gets extra props for being the one of creating The Piglet, the school newspaper. She came up with the idea and set it into motion with great results.
Photo-album: Not only centered around herself, Indigo has given us a little tour around her house, around herself, and around her friendships and ex-relationships. She includes every aspect of her life, and I think the glog pages are a brilliant, original idea that nobody had tried before. It shows creativity and a lot of thought and effort put into something.
After seeing all this, you still question her spot as July’s Female COTM? We’re so happy to have you here with us at ISS, Kelsey, congratulations! You deserved it, and we hope to keep you around for a long while more. Thanks for being this great addition to this ever-amazing site, and for sticking long enough to get to know us individually. Thanks, also, for the great posts and the great drama you’ve provided us all with. We love you, Kels!
