Name:Amelia Bones
Age:16
Gender: Female
Year: Sixth
Face Claim: Michelle Trachtenberg
Canon or Original? My first Canon, baby!
Facial Properties: “Um, well, I guess my face is pretty. It’s very unique in the fact that it’s shaped like a heart- you know, wider at my forehead and becomes narrow at my chin? Ugh, my chin! It’s always jutted out and I feel like anytime I talk to someone, they’re always staring at it. I don’t know… I suppose that’s an insecurity I have about myself… Let’s see, where were we? Oh, my eyes are next, I suppose. They’re actually my favorite feature- so blue that you could almost compare them to the sky in the afternoon. People like to compliment them, and my mother always tells me that they start ti dance when I’m excited about something. I’ve also been compared to the features of a cat because of my almond-shaped eyes. Which is rather funny, considering they’re my favorite animal… But yeah! That’s about it… Other than my freckles. They’re lightly dusted across my face, so much that sometimes you can’t even see them… But they’re everywhere… Trust me. Oh, and my lips! So silly of me to forget those… Really, they’re nothing special. I would just assume that they’re regular lips, but I’ve been told by a few people that they look extremely soft and juicy (although how lips can look juicy, I will never know…). In my opinion, my top lip is too thin and my bottom lip is too thick. They are very disproportionate.”
Physique: “Physique…? As in, talking about my body!? Oh… no, thank you. I’d rather not… Oh, well, if you insist. Let’s start at my shoulders: they’re manly. I don’t care what anyone tells me, they look like they should belong to a seven foot-tall body builder. Of course, I suppose the only reason other people think they look feminine is the huge, ugly freckles sprinkled all over them… Ugh. Alright, moving on to my chest; it’s my most embarrassing trait. I didn’t actually get breasts until this past summer- and I’m sixteen years old! Isn’t it just tragic? However, I suppose they came in full bloom because I am now a full C-cup and quite proud. Although, I would never just spout that off to anyone… So let’s keep that between us, okay? Good. Now, my arms and hands are perfectly normal, delicate and fragile-looking (as I do not play any contact sports, so I do not have that kind of muscle in my arms). My stomach is flat from my many years of ballet lessons and my legs are trimmed as well. I have wavy, light brown hair that falls down to the middle of my back, but I’m considering getting it cut. My feet are a size six, which is tiny, but the rest of me sure isn’t- I’m a sad five feet, ten inches… That is way too tall for a lady, if I do say so myself.”
Wand Type: Elm wood, 10 ¾ inches, Thestral tail hair core
“When I first walked into Mr. Ollivander’s shop five years ago, I would have never guessed that he would know me so well just from the type of wand that picked me. I though it odd, at first, to hear him say that the wand chooses their wizard was a strange idea- but he sure was right! I first tried out a simple wand: No unique markings, rosewood with a dragon heartstring core, but it wouldn’t work. Everything about the wand seemed off… It didn’t even fit right as I held it in my hand! We continued to search for the perfect fit amongst boxes and boxes of wands- and suddenly, there it was. Almost as if it was… whispering to me. Mr. Ollivander got this look on his face and he asked me to try it out. But I didn’t need to. I already knew it was my wand. That was one of the best experiences of my life… Everytime I go to Diagon Alley, I make sure to stop into the shop and chat with the old man- he’s like a second father to me.”
Wand Expertise: “My wand, according to Mr. Ollivander, is best suited for charms and enchantments… Although I have to say, I am pretty darn good at healing spells as well. Perhaps that’s just my own special ability?”
Patronus: “Thank goodness my patronus isn’t anything too scary that I wouldn’t be able to stand looking at as it defended me! That would be quite the problem, don’t you think? Anyway, it’s a lion- but an exceptionally nice one! Except to my enemies, of course… Only problem is, I can’t seem to produce one every time I try the spell… I’ve only ever done it once.”
Boggart: “Oh, don’t even get me started on explaining my boggart… I will tell you what it is, but I will not go into detail- no matter how nicely you ask me. My boggart is a mermaid. There, that’s all you’re getting out of me.”
Personality:WITHDRAWN AND PRUDISH
“How dare you? I am not a prude! Alright… I suppose I’m a little prudish. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with trying to stay modest… Especially with how other girls are dressing these days. I just try not to show cleavage (now that I have it)- is that such a crime? And as for withdrawn… Well, I suppose that’s rather accurate, I’m afraid. I spend a lot of my time curled up in front of the fireplace with a good book or out by the lake, watching the sunset and thinking about life. If someone happens to join me, of course I’ll welcome them with open arms… But because I’m so shy, people don’t tend to do that too often. I only have a hand-full of really good friends, you see, and most people don’t even know I exist. But they will someday. Just you wait and see!”
INTELLIGENT AND PROUD
“Okay, now this statement I’ll agree with! Ever since a young age, I’ve been showing signs of a higher intelligence than others my age. For example, when I was only nine months old, I was speaking in almost complete sentences while my brother was just learning how to speak properly- and he is two years older than I am. Also, my brother didn’t show signs of any magical abilities until he was six years old and I was four… Other students told me that they didn’t even know they were magical until they received their acceptance letter to the school! How shocking would that be? I’m also not afraid to show others that I can find my way out of almost any problem I’m faced with. Some girls are actually extremely smart, but are afraid to show it- especially when there’s a cute guy around that they’re trying to impress… All I’m saying is that, if they’re going to like me, then they’re going to like me for who I really am- not because of how I look.”
CLOSET SMOKER
“How would you know if I’m a closet anything? Ugh, fine. But this better not ever get out to my parents… It’s true. I smoke when I’m stressed. What’s so wrong about that? I mean, it’s only for recreational use, I’m not addicted or anything! Heh, yeah… Like I would even be capable of having an addiction… Although, I guess addicted wouldn’t be a particularly bad word to describe how I feel when I’m within ten feet of a cigarette… But I’m not addicted. No, definitely not me.”
HOPELESSLY IN LOVE WITH LOVE
“Okay, I’ll admit it: I love love. Everything about it, really. I read fairytales and pretend I’m the princess in them that is being whisked away by my knight-in-shining-armor… But I’ve always been this way. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wished for a happy ending. Someone to hold me close and let me listen to their heart beat, someone to say, ‘I love you, Amelia. I love you for who you are, and who you will be.’ Is that such a bad thing? I’m constantly on the look-out for any guy who still upholds the idea of chivalry- a guy who isn’t afraid to hold the door open for a girl and will compliment her on how she looks that day. My father is like that with my mother and that’s what I want, too. I want a love that will last forever.”
ARTISTIC
“Oh, well that’s rather nice of you to say about me… But I don’t know if I would agree that I’m artistic in the sense that people normally mean when they describe another as artistic… I’m more of the brooding writer-type, you know? I suppose that doesn’t make any sense… Let me try to further explain. As I said, ever since I was young I’ve been reading fairytales and loves stories, hoping to one day have my life turned into one. Well, that hasn’t happened yet (obviously), so I write out my fantasies and dreams. What? Oh no, no- these aren’t for anyone else to read. I write mainly for me… although I have let a few people read what little poetry I have written, so I suppose that’s why people would say I’m artistic.”

History:
THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY:
Holy Bloody Hell. The first thought that came to mind as Francis (aka ‘Frankie’) Bones saw Temperance Jones for the first time. It was a rather warm, sunny day in London and the two were with their families about to board the Hogwarts Express for the first time. When Frankie looks back on this day, he says that you could basically call that first impression, ‘Love at First Sight,’ but Temperance remembers it differently. Frankie had been so excited to get to know her that he followed her to her compartment on the train, sat down next to her and talked her ear off practically the entire way to Hogwarts. She was so deeply annoyed with him, but couldn’t be bothered to let it show. After the trolley with sweets and snacks had come by and they had eaten their share of the tasty goodies, Frankie fell asleep on Temperance’s shoulder. Looking down at him, she noticed the freckles on his innocent-looking face and actually felt sorry that she had been so annoyed by the poor boy. That was the moment she decided to give him a chance. They became fast friends and had started dating by their third year, becoming engaged during the Christmas Holiday Break at Hogwarts during their seventh and final year.

They became fast friends and had started dating by their third year, becoming engaged during the Christmas Holiday Break at Hogwarts during their seventh and final year.
THE EARLY YEARS:
After four wonderful years of marriage, Frankie and Temperance decided that they were finally ready to have a child. What, with Frankie’s big promotion at the Ministry and Temperance’s new place of employment at the Three Broomsticks, they thought they deserved a child. And they could definitely afford one! When Temperance became pregnant, she was overjoyed at the prospect of dressing up her child in play clothes and taking her out to see ballet shows… But, on December 17, her dreams were shattered. Of course, Frankie was overjoyed to have a son and Temperance was too, she just had always dreamed of having a little girl who looked just like her… They decided to name him Edgar after Frankie’s late grandfather and gave him the middle name of Rosenthal because Temperance liked the name. Edgar, as it turned out, was not the only beautiful child the two would have together. Temperance had just quit her job at the Three Broomsticks about a year later to become a full-time stay-at-home mom when she discovered she was pregnant for the second time! This time, Temperance’s wish came true- she had a baby girl in the sixth hour of the evening of the 25th of June! Beautiful and bright, this bouncing ball of joy was just what the couple needed in their household. Her name, you ask? Amelia, after Temperance’s late mother, and the middle name of Susan. The middle name was Edgar’s pick.
CHILDHOOD THROUGH NOW
As we’ve already discussed, Amelia (Mia) was very, very bright for her age- even before they discovered she was a witch like the rest of the women in her family. She began talking in coherent sentences when she was just nine months old, crawling at age 1 and walking at age 1 and six months. Her first dance lesson began when she was just two years old and she began reading when she was three, starting to read novels by age four. Her magical abilities were a foreign feeling to her when they began, but she can recall the first experience… Her brother had been sitting in the dining room, finishing his bread and jam for the morning while she sat and played in the living room. She called for her brother to come and look at the toy she had found under the sofa, but he wouldn’t answer her. She began to get frustrated and tired of yelling for him and she willed him to just come over to her. Well, he did- flying across the two rooms and smacking into the wall opposite Amelia. He suffered a minor concussion and an arm injury that had broken in two different places. And she was only four years old…
There is something else about Amelia that needs to be understood from her childhood, something very… important. When Amelia was two and a half, her mother had a third child- another baby girl, this time naming her Georgette ‘Georgie’ Lilac Bones. The name was slightly out of the ordinary, but Temperance loved it. She loved her. See, Georgie was born with RSV problems and had troubles breathing. It was a very common thing, the doctors said, a lot of babies were born with it. However, Georgie had a slightly worse case than most average babies… One night, Mia was laying in her crib, staring up at the ceiling, when she heard a strange noise. It almost sounded like something was… choking. Horrified, Mia stood up in her crib to see Georgie crying and choking on her own spit. Mia cried and cried for her parent’s to come as quickly as they could but… by the time they got there, it was too late. Mia had seen her own little sister’s death before her life had even really started. That is why Mia was so impressed with the wand she received that day- the one with the Thestral hair tail core. She can also see the Thestrals at the Castle… Though she doesn’t like them because it reminds her of that day that has haunted her dreams for years.
