Dear Lily,
Haven't spoken to you in a while. How are things with Mr. Potter? He better be treating you right. Hopefully you get to be Mrs. Potter soon.
Is Auror training going all right? I've seen a couple graduates from last year hanging around Hogsmeade, and I heard rumours some of them were gonna be guarding the castle too. Think you'll be one of them? I wouldn't mind seeing you around here again, that's for sure. Especially since my Potions grade has been slipping a bit, hah. Kidding.
Lucy's getting more pregnant by the day, imagine that. Apparently she and some Ravenclaw girl from my year are now best friends and organising some sort of "Awareness Rally", you know, because of all the attacks going on with the Death Eaters and all that. Alice Prewett is gonna help too, I think, and I said I'd lend a hand if they need it. I think I'm gonna bake things and maybe make banners. Maybe you should drop in; nothing like someone with experience in the "outside" to further the cause, right?
I don't really know what else to say, so I'll just remind you to not be a stranger. Hogsmeade trip is coming up. If you're free, we should have tea or something.
Take care,

Dear Wendy,
It's so good to hear from you, Wendy! I'm so glad you wrote to me! Mr. Potter is fine, he's been treating me like a princess, as he very well should be xD Yeah, hopefully. It's tough to sit down and decide on a date when there's constantly more pressing matters that I need to focus on. You'll still be one of my bridesmaids, yeah?
Auror training is going pretty swell. Making me very busy, hence the delayed wedding plans. Honestly, at this point I'm considering just going to a chapel with one or two witnesses and getting it over with. I'm tired of being James Potter's fiance. I want to be his wife already, you know? I'm not too sure whether I'll be patrolling Hogwarts, but I'll be sure to let you know as soon as possible!
Awareness Rally, hmm? Well, just tell the girls to be careful. As much as raising awareness can help, there are some people who are completely against it, and I wouldn't want any of them to get hurt. I'd love to drop in some time, though. To give them experience and to make sure they know not to let it get out of hand.
How about you? How've you been? How're classes and the castle? Any new love interests for my fellow ginger? (;
What date is the Hogsmeade trip? I'd love to meet you for tea.
Yours,

Dear Lily,
I can't imagine how stressful it must be to plan a wedding, so you definitely have my admiration there. If you like I could try lending a hand when we meet up in Hogsmeade. And of course I'll be a bridesmaid; you don't even have to ask.
Well, you could always elope and throw a party later.
They're planning on holding sometime next week, so maybe make sure to drop in before then if you have any spare time. If not, I can definitely pass along any message. I think they're being pretty careful about it. Lucy's a pureblood, so it's not like they're going to go on some anti-pureblood tirade to piss people off, you know? I think they're smart enough to know to be safe about it, but you never know. I'll keep an eye out for them anyway.
I've been all right, I suppose. Classes are... all right, ish. I didn't do so well on my last Charms assignment, which was surprising, but I guess I just have to work harder. I've sort of been seeing this one guy, but we're not dating, so I don't think it's going to go anywhere. I did go to his place for Christmas though. I was supposed to go home, but my aunt and uncle went on vacation with some friends and I was a little bummed, so Ian invited me to his ranch. As a friend, of course. It was nice.
18 March is the next trip.
Yours,

Dear Wendy,
Really? That would be wonderful! You'd think the second time around would be easier, but I'm trying to make it simpler. And I'm thinking of having it indoors. Less likely to have any...unwanted visitors, if you know what I mean.
Oh God, don't tempt me, ahaha.
Thanks, Wendy. I know you're smart about these things, so I'll trust you'll keep them in reign. We also don't want Lucy to stress herself out too much, that's not good for the baby and all. I'll try my best to drop by, though, definitely.
Him inviting you over to his house sounds a little serious though, don't you think? What do you mean you're seeing him, but not dating him?
I'll clear out my schedule on that day for sure, then.
Yours,

Dear Lily,
Oh, definitely. We wouldn't want that to happen again. Maybe the invitations should be Protean Charms of some sort, too. That way the details aren't out there for the wrong people to see.
Nah, you wouldn't want a city hall wedding. Where would the magic and romance be in that?
Definitely. And make sure you do. I miss your face.
I don't really think so. It wasn't something that we planned. He asked me if I wanted to spend Christmas at his place, because I guess he knew I'd be a little lonely at the castle, and I said sure. And I mean... well... I'm not his girlfriend, and he's not my boyfriend. We've never really been exclusive or official or anything. I don't think he wants to be, because he was dating all of his exes. But it's fine, you know, for now. I guess we'll just see how we feel if the situation demands it.
Great! Three Broomsticks at noon?

Dear Wendy,
Hmm, that's actually a good idea. I was thinking I'd hand-deliver them myself, but that would probably be too tedious, wouldn't it?
True. But I already tried the magic and romance once, and it didn't turn out so great.
I miss yours too, Wendy.
Well...but do you want to be his girlfriend? I mean, do you want anything serious to come out of it? Or are you happy with the way things are not?
Sounds perfect.
Yours,

Dear Lily,
Hah, maybe a little. Don't want anyone to lose it.
Well, that was... really unfortunate, but now that you know that sort of threat is out there, you'll be more careful next time, right? Even if you need, you know, to hire some Aurors or Hit Wizards as security.
It's... weird, I suppose. Being someone's girlfriend never really worked out great for me. And... I've been happy with him the way things are, yeah. I guess it's just a little weird to think that he's had a line of girlfriends and then me. He's not an arse or anything like that, he's a good guy, it's just... Well, weird.

Dear Wendy,
True.
Yeah, I know. I was mostly kidding about the eloping thing, haha. I'll definitely be getting some security, though. James wants them, so. He doesn't really want a repeat.
Are you worried that he's comparing you to his other girlfriends? Because if so, then that's silly.

Dear Lily,
I've heard lots of people are eloping these days. I guess it kinda makes sense, if they're scared about not getting a chance in the future. But then I wonder if they're maybe rushing into things. If everything turns out OK in the end, will they still want to be married? Not that that applies to you and James at all, though. I never thought I'd say this, especially about you guys, but it's hard to find two people more suited for each other. I definitely think you bring out the man in him, and he helps keep you grounded, hah. I think however and whenever you get married, you two will last forever.
Wow, just got a little sentimental on you there. Whoops?
Oh, gosh, no. He doesn't do that - it's Ian Fleming, haven't you met him? No, I'm not worried about being compared. I don't really know how to explain it, so maybe it's just a fluke. Hah.

Dear Wendy,
Aww, Wendy! That was a very sweet thing of you to say. Honestly, I never would have imagined that I'd wind up wanted to be Mrs. James Potter. Really, if you'd told me two years ago that I'd be walking down the aisle towards him, I would have told you you were complete mad. And yet, here I am. And I don't know about the other couples, but personally I don't see myself regretting this at all. My wanted to marry James doesn't really have much to do with the war - although that's probably a factor anyway, at least subconsciously. He's the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. And maybe the other couples think the same way, too. You never know.
No, I know he doesn't. I was worried you thought he did. Well, if you ever figure out and want someone to talk to, you know I'm always here for you.
Yours,
