Hello, ISS!
A topic was recently brought up regarding the character limit. After much discussion, a decision has been reached. We are planning to raise the limit to ten characters per member, but please read the following thoroughly before you make number seven.
1. With the addition of characters, changes are being made to the SFC list. Only parents and guardians can be reserved: no siblings, no cousins, no friends. You can still put photos of siblings and the like in photo albums; however, they will not be officially claimed as an SFC.
2. There will be an activity check every two weeks. Instead of members being on the danger list, characters will go on instead. If you have not posted with a certain character in any sort of IC thread in two weeks, that character will be on the list. If this hasn't changed by the next activity check, this character will be deleted. Please ensure to post in at least one full-length thread or per month.
3. We are eliminating the application process for four characters and up; however, starting at character four and for each afterward, we require that you PM Dumbledore with the following:
Name: {of your most recent character}
Three full threads: {links to three full-length threads your most-recent character has been in; one must be complete, but two can be WIP}
Five notes/owls: {links to five notes/owls your most-recent character has been in; two must be complete, but three can be WIP}
Even though you only have to submit the information for your most-recent character, we're still taking the activity of your other characters into account, so please ensure you keep up with them as well. Click here for more information.
4. Male-to-female ratios are going to be monitored a little more closely. We don't want to see someone with eight girls and two boys; please try to keep it as even as possible.
These are the changes that are going to occur with the implementation of the new limit. As for when the changes take place, we are going to use this month's Karma Count game as a way to determine whether or not the site is ready for it. ISS is still recovering from a bout of slowness, so we are just waiting to see if activity will pick up enough for the limit to be raised and handled effectively. Please note that if we raise the limit during Karma Count, only the characters you signed up with will count toward your total.
