About the Character- -
Name: Kadence Dafne Valentine (Kiki) Age: Fifteen Gender: Female Year: Fourth Face Claim: Leighton Meester
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties:
Kiki has naturally wavy chestnut hair, falling past her shoulders. She has a traditional heart shaped face, and her chocolate brown, almond shaped eyes are set lightly onto her face. Her cheekbones are high, and her jaw is strong, yet subtle. Her eyelashes are few, but the ones she does have a curly. She hates her nose, but it's small, and the nostrils are small as well. Her mouth is quite beautiful, with full lips and straight, white teeth. Her eyebrow's are arched, but they are well-kept, and her forehead is free of zits, most of the time, her skin a milky color.
Physique:
Kiki's body is in great shape. Her neck is small, leading into small shoulders and good sized arms. They're not big, but you can't see her bones, either. Her forearms are small, and speckled with tiny freckles. Kiki has a small chest, and it bothers her occasionally, but her stomach is flat, so she takes the trade. Her legs are a pale color, but not too white, and they're slender. Her feet are small, but flat, with no arches. Kiki's hips are pretty small, but she likes to make them a little wider with belts and accessories. Her knees and ankles are small and a little knobby, but she tries not to pay attention. Her back is nice, with no weird curves or love handles. And her butt is to die for. Or, at least, that's what Cameron says.
Personality:
Kiki is obsessed with her boyfriend. This always comes first when explaining her, because Cameron pretty much takes over her life. She's in love with him, but at the same time, she knows that it's best for her if she breaks it off and never sees him again. Cam cheats on her, constantly, and Kiki has had her fair share of one night stands as well, but she's not a whore. She just needs love. And she can't get it from her cheating, lying, stealing SOB of a boyfriend. It doesn't change the fact, however, that she needs him. He's a drug to her, and she can't get enough of him. It's a complicated relationship. She never reveals the deep inner crappy part of her relationship with Cam, all people see on the surface is that they are perfect for each other. Kiki tries to convince herself of that fact sometimes, too. But she knows deep down that it's all a big lie. She just won't ever admit it.
Her past often comes back to haunt her. So many bad things happened to her at such a young age, and it really messes with her subconscious. She's not mentally unstable or anything like that, she just has deep buried issues. Sometimes, she has hallucinations of her father, and she likes to think she's talking to him when no one is around, and it concerns her mother sometimes, but Kiki convinces herself it's totally normal. She's not stupid enough to think that her father's not dead, but she still believes she can talk to him at any time that she wants; she just needs her imagination and somewhere where she can be alone. She occasionally has a nightmare here and there; the scene of her father's death repeating in her head over and over again, but it's not a constant thing. However, Kiki hates even the thought of her dreams being interrupted. Which leads to my next point.
Kiki doesn't sleep. It's a major case of insomnia, and she's been like that since her fathers' death. It was easier for her to not sleep and become nocturnal than it was to fall asleep and face the dreams. They weren't often, and they weren't reoccurring, but when they did happen, they were unbearable. Kiki stopped sleeping altogether for a couple of weeks, but soon after, her body started to react badly, and she had to start sleeping again. The dreams came back, and the cycle repeated itself. Eventually, Kiki only slept for a couple hours a night, not enough to drift into a deep enough sleep to dream, but enough to keep her functioning. Sometimes she hates it, because she doesn't feel like a normal teenage girl, and that's all she's ever wanted. Other times, she loves it, because she has more time to study than anyone else, and more time with Cameron, and more time to spend doing whatever she wants. It's different every night, and she kind of likes it that way.
Kiki absolutely adores/hates magic. She hates thinking that it was what killed her father, and everytime she picks up her wand, she gets a little anxiety feeling in her stomach. At the same time, Kiki loves magic. She loves the idea of creating things and making things that regular people can't. She likes the idea of feeling special. It's something she really likes to think about; the fact that no matter where she goes, she can always feel like she stands out. And she loves that. One of Kiki's biggest personality traits is her sense of humor. After everything that she's been through, being able to laugh at herself and make jokes has been her savior. It allows her to make friends easily, and it really keeps a boy's attention when she can make them laugh. It sort of ties into the fact that she likes magic, because she likes to impress people with what she learns. It's not a popularity contest for Kiki, it's about who she can get to smile, no matter how bad of a day they're having.

History:
No one knows what Edith and George Baker were thinking when they betrothed their unborn daughter to the future son of Benjamin and Pearl Valentine, the corn farmers that lived just a mile down the road from their summer cottage in London, England. They had no decent family title, no money, and nothing of value to offer to the marriage. Some say Edith had committed some unforgivable crimes unknown to all except for Benjamin, who witnessed these heinous crimes. Others say George was on the run from the police for robbing the highest security vault in all of Italy. Whatever the reason, Maisy Marie Baker and Robert Michael Valentine were forced to spend eternity together before they even came out of the womb. Robert arrived first, just a few short weeks before Maisy, and the two were together every summer for ten years. Maisy was told of her inescapable future when she was nine. All she understood back then was that she got to spend every waking minute of her time with her best friend, Bobby, so she willingly agreed. But, when Robert turned eleven, he received his Hogwarts letter, and left without any word to Maisy. She wasn't allowed to know about his gift, and Benjamin and Pearl didn't believe that Edith and George were worthy enough to know about their magical offspring. They broke off the engagement without another word, and though shocked, the Bakers accepted. Maisy still wasn't old enough to really understand what had happened, but she went home the summer she turned twelve, and her and little Bobby played together like nothing had changed. By Robert's seventh year at Hogwarts, the two had fallen passionately in love, and the minute Robert graduated Hogwarts, he returned to London and claimed his one and only love. Maisy's parents were devastated, as they had made other arrangements for her to marry someone who could actually provide for her, and Maisy left her parents house without a goodbye or a blessing. Robert's parents welcomed Maisy in with open arms, who was three months pregnant at the time of their wedding.
Robert and Maisy packed their bags and decided to return to Maisy's roots. Ireland was a beautiful country, and soon after they were settled into a house, Maisy had her first child, a beautiful baby girl, whom they named Kadence Dafne. Kiki was a happy baby, growing closer to her parents with every waking minute she had. Robert had a steady job at the Ministry of Magic, while Maisy owned a small clothing shop in Dublin, just five minutes from their cozy cottage on the outskirts of the big city. Everything was wonderful for their family. They kept in constant contact with Robert's parents, who sent them beautiful cards and flowers every day, and in return, Maisy sent pictures of Kiki every chance she could get. By the time Kiki turned three, Maisy was pregnant again, this time with twins. The whole family was in high spirits for the entire pregnancy, and Kiki's parents couldn't have been more in love if they wanted to be. Everything was better than perfect. Maisy and Robert even made a bet with each other that the twins were going to come right on time, and without a flaw. Sure enough, on the exact due date, Taj Romanza and Talan James were born without a hitch. Kiki loved her little twin brothers, and the three of them spent endless days in their backyard playing rugby with Daddy and learning to make cookies with Mummy. Maisy refused to keep in any contact with her parents still, and Edith was devastated. She wanted nothing more than to see her beautiful grandchildren, but her husband resisted. He still held a grudge against Robert for stealing his perfect daughter away. So Edith was denied contact with her daughter and her family, and it nearly killed her. Things pressed on with the Valentine family, and Maisy became pregnant again at the same time Kiki received her letter the summer before she turned eleven. She'd known about her magic since she was six, and she thought it was the most incredible thing she'd ever experienced. Maisy was more than proud of her for getting her letter, and Robert took Kiki to Diagon Alley to buy her school supplies. Kiki loved spending time with her Daddy; and likewise, Robert just couldn't get enough of his beautiful daughter.
On Christmas Eve of Kiki's second year, Maisy had taken all of her children into the front sitting room, setting them in front of the fireplace for a picture, when Robert burst through the door telling them to get out of the house, they were coming for him. Maisy was scared, but Robert told her to just take the children and run. Maisy agreed, packed some clothes quickly and darted out the front door with Taj and Talan at her heels. Kiki jumped into her father's arms to ask him what was happening, but Robert just stroked her face, setting her down and shooing her out of the house. Maisy ran to the top of the hill behind their house with Taj and Talan in tow, but Kiki was barely to the other side when she realized she had forgotten her baby blanket back in her bedroom. Before Maisy could stop her, Kiki was halfway back to the house. She threw the front door open to get her blanket, and heard a huge explosion in the room to her right. Kiki ran to the door of the room, but it was locked, so she peered through to peephole to see what had happened. And there, right before her eyes, was her father, held up by invisible ropes on his wrists, legs, and torso. Kiki saw something move in the corner of the room, but when she turned to see what it was, a shadow was moving toward the door. Frozen in fear, Kiki didn't move, but she didn't need to. The figure stopped in front of the keyhole, shouting at her father. It was a man's voice. Kiki shivered with fear, keeping her eye wide open as she looked through the little hole. The man was screaming now, and so was her father. She'd never heard her Daddy scream like that. He wasn't angry...he was in agony. Kiki wanted to scream too, she wanted to burst into the room and save her Daddy from whatever was happening, but she knew she couldn't. The man got closer to her father, still shouting, and then, right before Kiki's eyes, a flash of green light erupted her vision. When the light had subsided, her father was a limp figure, no longer moving. Kiki started to cry silent tears, and the figure moved towards the door. Kiki fell back into the shadows, hiding from the devil who had just murdered the man who had given her everything. She caught a glimpse of his face, and felt like she recognized him. But before it could register, the man had gone, Disapparated. Kiki stood up, shaking, and slowly walked into the sitting room, and she saw her father, still held up by what seemed like nothing, dead. Kiki screamed at the top of her lungs, and the next thing she remembered, she was lying on pillows at St. Mungo's.
Maisy was in the bed next to her, a baby girl in her arms. She had gone into labor the night her husband was murdered, and it was the first time Maisy had to cut the umbilical chord on her own baby. Kiki started crying the minute she woke up, and she didn't stop for three weeks straight, only to sleep. And even then, she'd wake up with water drenching her pillow. Kiki slipped rapidly into the deepest depression Maisy had ever seen. Her newborn baby sister Claire was never going to see her father, and just that thought alone was enough to make Kiki want to end her own life, just to be with her Daddy again. Kiki was released from St. Mungo's two days after she was admitted, but her Mother had to stay a little longer, because tests were still being run on Claire. Kiki went to her mother's room one afternoon, bringing a book she had found in her father's old things while she was looking for something, so she hopped up on her mummy's bed. Maisy took the photo album from Kiki, showing her all the pictures, telling her of lost cousins and uncles and aunts she'd never met. When Maisy turned the last page, Kiki looked down at the photograph, and screamed louder than she ever had before. She woke up Claire, who had been sleeping, and Maisy screamed also, startled by her daughter's sudden fit. She calmed her down, trying to get out of her what had upset her so much, when Kiki didn't speak, but merely pointed at the smiling man in the last photograph. She admitted to her mother that this was the man who had killed her Daddy. Maisy picked the photo album up slowly, and the man in the picture Kiki was referring to...was Maisy's father, Benjamin Baker. Maisy called the Ministry immediately, and with some quick decisions and a few drops of Veritaserum, Benjamin confessed to killing his son-in-law; for taking his daughter away from a bright and wonderful future with someone better. Benjamin was thrown into Azkaban, and he died there six months later. Maisy couldn't believe it, and for a month, she stayed shut up in her room while her mother came over to watch the children. Edith had no idea what her husband was up to, but convinced Maisy that she wanted nothing more than to be with her beautiful grandchildren.
Life moved on. Kiki returned to Hogwarts, kept on with her classes, but her heart wasn't in the magic anymore. She didn't want any part of the reason her father was no longer there. Maisy was afraid she was going to have to take her daughter out of school for good, until, that is, Kiki met Cameron. It was the summer before her third year, and Kiki was working at the small boutique for her mom. Kiki was still completely subdued from the world. She wasn't speaking to anyone, she was barely eating, and that smile that was constantly on her face was just a memory to her family and friends. One day, Cameron came into the store, with his cute smile, and his ridiculous good looks, and his yummy smell, and Kiki was sold. They started dating, and even though Kiki was only thirteen, her mother was just trying to find any way she could to make Kiki who she used to be. Maisy welcomed Cameron in with open arms, making him one of the family because she saw the change he made in Kiki. Cameron was like oxygen for her; she needed him to survive. They began to spend more and more time with each other; like they were joined at the hip. Maisy didn't see what was happening until it was too late. Cam quickly became a drug to Kiki; she needed him to survive, but it was messing with her at the same time. He started to change, and eventually Cam started to cheat on her, keeping Kiki around just for how cute they were together on the surface. Kiki knew, she knew what he was doing to her, but she didn't care. She loved Cam; he was there when she needed him most, and Kiki wasn't about to give it up. She began to slip into a state of denial, refusing to believe it when anyone would tell her he was a bad person. Kiki was happy on the surface, a nice person that other people saw, but under all of it, she was depressed, constantly looking for comfort from other guys. It made relationships even more difficult for her, because as badly as she knew she had to break things off with Cam, she couldn't lose him. She loved him. But she wasn't getting what she needed from him. So she turned to other guys. It's slowly destroying her, but she refuses to admit it. So, Kiki stayed at Hogwarts, learning more about her magical background, waiting for the day when she could finally break free of the spell Cameron has her under. Maybe all it really takes is the right guy, and a little bit of real love.
Sample Post: They're all over the place.
