Discussion: Muggle Sports: Football
Every once in a while, Charity found herself entirely bored by her own lesson plans, which typically featured lecture or discussion. As much as she liked to get her students thinking and participating in a rousing discussion, she just wasn’t getting as much feedback as she preferred lately, especially from her N.E.W.T. students!- so she decided to mix things up. She was never entirely structured with her classes, and although she had a general idea of what she was going to teach and what message she was trying to convey, she wasn’t afraid to think outside the box. Lately, she’d been discussing different muggle sports, sports organizations and different tournaments around the world, even the Olympics. She requested that the students meet her in the Concourse for todays lesson; it was much roomier, and she moved everything out and made room for goals. Today they would be playing football. Picking teams, taking score, all that good stuff. And it was going to be fun, dammit. She was relieved to see that most of her class made it there by the time the bell rang, but she expected a few stragglers; she did leave a note on her door reminding them that class would be held in the Concourse instead of the classroom, so she expected the rest of them to show up within a few minutes. Most of them looked confused, but others knew exactly their “lesson” was today as she bounced the soccer ball back and forth between her hands. ”Good to see you all found your way,” she began, pacing back and forth in front of them. ”We’re going to play football today.” She paused, a little smirk curling across her lips. ”And you all should know what that is by now,” she said, looking at them pointedly. ”You get to pick teams. Go ahead.” The room erupt into chatter as the students shuffled around, trying to put together a team. This was definitely one of her best ideas yet.[/color]
Just as long as no one got hurt.
