INTRODUCTION
Group #1: Ravenclaw Fourth and Fifth Years Group #2: Slytherin Fourth and Fifth Years Discussion: The Chaldean Method
"Good morning class," Professor Vector greeted as she strode into the room, her robes billowing behind her as she made her way to her desk. Once there, she stopped and turned to face the class, dropping her arms by her sides and observing them quietly. "I hope you have all completed your assignment. I will be collecting it at the end of class. Please don't think of finishing it during the lesson, I will know." Her gaze lingered on the few panicked faces of her students - all belonging to Slytherins, of course, since Ravenclaws were well-known for their tendency to complete homework on time, every time. Giving them all a small nod, she briskly moved towards the blackboard, whipping out her wand to write across her board in her cursive writing. "Today, we will be learning about The Chaldean Method. Does anyone happen to know anything about it?" She turned back to the class expectantly, waiting for the tell-tall know-it-all. Every classroom had it - that one person who knew all the answers (or thought they knew all the answers) and thus constantly had their hand waving around the air, begging to be picked. Sure enough, there it was, the goody-goody-two-shoes, know-it-all student who had probably read ahead (or even completed the entire text book). Smiling slightly, Professor Vector called on the student and awaiting the - probably correct - answer.

Imogen had always thought it ironic that she could detest Divination and think it a useless subject, and yet she could look forward to Arithmancy and consider it one of her favourite subjects. She supposed it was because the fortune-telling in Divination was just very woolly and often fake and Trelawney was a nutter that Imogen, for the life of her, could not take seriously. It was hard not to laugh through most of her classes; on the bright side, she had yummy tea, which made up for the shit factor of the rest of her class. Professional Vector, on the other hand, was an exceptionally venerable professor, and Imogen was tickled by how her surname so appropriately suited a subject to do with numerology and mathematics. She took a seat near the middle of the class and opened her textbook and note parchment and ink, prepared for any notes they were to take. When Vector asked her question, Imogen tilted her head to the side in thought and tried to remember. She'd read that chapter quite a while ago and... It was similar to Agrippan, but different in that... Oh. She raised her hand, pondering her wording while she waited for Vector to call on her.
"It's a numerological method used to predict a person's strengths and weaknesses. It has the same purpose as the Agrippan method, but it's not as well known an only uses the numbers one through eight." There was more to it, and Imogen knew that she could easily add more to her answer, but she decided against it this time. She didn't want to seem like too much of a try-hard, after all. Besides, if Vector wanted more information, she'd ask for it.
... And Imogen would answer. Old habits died hard, after all.
