Oh I know, that's a fwopper feather. They keep glumbumbles away, you know. I was feeling a bit down this morning and thought to myself, "Well, better be safe than sorry" and I figured the pink one work best. I mean, fwopper feathers come in all colors, of course, but pink is the brightest, so they work best against glumbumbles. Except for yellow, but I don't think I look very good in yellow.
My dad wears a lot of feathers in his hair.

Stefan glanced up from the note in return to stare at the back of Jareth's head blankly. What on earth was he supposed to reply to that? There had been a reason why him and Jareth had never really talked outside of the basic roommate stuff; he was kind of...intense and stuff.
But no, he told himself. He had to learn to reach out to people. That's what Emmeline had said the other day, or he was going to become a friendless loser forever. Not that he didn't have friends but...more friends was always better, right? That's what Gabby said.
Oh, okay. Um, what exactly are glumbumbles...? And n-no, thank you. I think I'll be fine without it, but thanks!

It took a moment of Stefan brushing the folded up against his elbow for Jareth to peel his attention from the professor. He actually jumped a little, surprised that Stefan still wanted to carry on the conversation. For some reason, Jareth didn't seem to be very good at note passing. Most of the time, after he sent a note back, the other person just... stopped. Upon reading it, Jareth let out a light, squeaky laugh and glanced back over his shoulder at the fellow Ravenclaw. He wasn't laughing at Stefan, it was just that glumbumbles were a very important thing to know about and he was surprised no one had warned him yet!
Glumbumbles are these little furry bugs that secrete a fluid which induces melancholy. They like to hang out in scarves, so keep an eye out for that. Glumbumbles aren't all bad, of course. They're used as an antidote to Alihotsy poisoning. Gets rid of the hysteria, you know.
I think we're going to learn bout that in potions this February. I like to read ahead.
