ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Amberlea Silverstone Age: 16 Gender: Female Year: 6th Celebrity: Christina Aguilera
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties: Amberlea has deep grey eyes, that often seem to have a come-hither look to them. Her cheekbones are quite pronounced, and her chin rather pointed, giving her face quite a sharp look to it. She has quite full lips, but rarely smiles, unless it's a demeaning smirk. She rarely bothers with her brown/black hair (colour often changes, but most out of a bottle), but quite suits the just got out of bed look. Her nose is quite straight, bringing even more to the angular look of her features.
Physique: Amberlea stands at 5'5" and is quite leggy. She s the person most would pick as goth, however, she doesn't intend for this to happen, she just likes the style, and the fact that it makes her seem more imposing. She likes in particular heavy eye makeup and lots of lip gloss, but that would be about all she wears makeup wise. She likes to dress to show off her size 4 body, after all, wouldn't you? She also wears jewellery, usually in the form of a tight choker, and has four studs in each air, a stud in her nose and labret, and a sleeper on the top of her right ear. She has a tattoo of Celtic style knot work woven with a wolf across the bottom of her back.
Personality: Amberlea is not the type people choose to get to know. She is a very temperamental person, and anyone who stands in her way, better watch out. She's the classical bully, she sticks to herself and expects others also to keep out of her way. If they don't, she is very quick with her tongue, and takes pride in teasing others in anything possible, and most of her responses are extremely sarcastic. She is very quick to rile, and then her teasing gives way to a harsh nastiness. If words could cut, hers do very well. She likes finding the weak point of a person, and picking at it till they crack.
She is very fascinated, almost obsessed, with blood, either hers or others, it's like a drug to her. Some people, because of this, think she's depressed, or mentally unwell. But she doesn't think she is, she likes her life, she just loves to see blood. She has a lot of little self inflicted scars on her arms and upper thighs, but unlike most people who are into self harming, she doesn't try to hide them. If she's in a fight (which has been quite often due to her infuriating nature, and which is one thing she's very skilled at) she aims to damage, and seeing blood is one of the reasons why.
With the very very few people she does allow to get close to her or keeps on trying to befriend her, she likes to use them. She is only ever nice to anyone if she wants something. There have only been a couple of people in which she actually considered herself "friends" with back home. With these, she has a bitter jealous streak. If she's close to someone, even if not involved, she doesn't like anyone else interfering, male or female. She likes to keep people to herself as it seems.
With guys, again she's only interested in them if they have something she wants, be it money, or sex, or even both. If she's nice to them, you can be guaranteed she wants something. Amberlea just doesn't do nice. When she does decide to come onto a guy, she can be extremely seductive, and has flirtation down to the art. But don't ever expect her to call the next morning.
Regardless of all these personality flaws, she does surprisingly well at school, and especially at things which require physical activity as she is quite supple with her body. She likes to do anything that doesn't involve "team work". She is quite fit, and likes to run a lot, and runs when she wishes to think about stuff. She enjoys writing, however only to the extent of writing poetry or fiction, she hates writing anything based on reality or anything she's been forced to write and hasn't been given free reign over. She also has never smoked, nor done any form of drugs, which most people don't guess (as she's clearly the type who'd turn to that obviously...). All her temper tantrums are of her own twisted doing, she doesn't need drugs to get high she thinks. Adrenaline is enough for her, though she has been known to drink too much quite often.
Her magic skills are quite well honed, but that is because she likes to practice, even when she shouldn't. She doesn't however usually use her magic negatively on others. She'd much rather let her words, or her fists, do the fighting then to blindly use magic when she's in a rage.

History: Amberlea was born in the small country of New Zealand. Since the start she had always been a difficult child, even if she did show great talent in magic, always had that mean streak there despite her mother trying to raise her kindly. Her father's influence didn't help the situation at all, and she was forever in trouble at school for violence or bullying. Her father was quite a power hungry wizard, and wasn't above being brutal. Regardless of her ill behaviour and bad attitude, her mother, a kindly witch, still let her know she was there, and was nothing but kind to her. No one had any idea what attracted the two to each other, but never the less, they were, and Amber was the result.
Amberlea doesn't think much of weak willed people like that and always hurt her mother with her actions and words more than her father's coldness towards her could. Regardless of that, Amber had never, and would never, raise a hand or her wand to her mother, and had often defended her against her enraged father, sometimes even deflecting the blows onto herself.
It was at the age of fourteen Amberlea discovered her first taste of blood. She had just discovered the cruel world of boys, and one in particular she had taken a shining to crushed her by making out with the most popular girl in school in front of her. She went into a rage, slapped the girl, and took off out of the house screaming and swearing when the larger boys managed to hold her small frame back (though with great difficulty). She picking up a sharp rock and just slashed it across her wrist. That was when she discovered how good it felt, and watched with intense fascination at what happened following.
Since then, she never trusted anyone, guy or girl. The one person she let into her heart betrayed her. So betrayal became her game, and she discovered it was one she excelled well at. Many a dream was crushed on her behalf, many a person she hurt. She grew estranged from both parents, and no longer really cared. She didn't come home often, and ended up hanging with the wrong crowds and taking a life out on the streets, stealing and fighting for survival.
It was only a year ago when she became involved with a gang bash of a young man. The exhilaration of the entire environment was thrilling, and she got wound up in her own blood lust. When the cops came, she was still beating and yelling at the man down on the ground, covering his head from her blows. All her "friends" had long left, as soon as they heard sirens. Even as she was taken away in handcuffs, she was still laughing and yelling, the fire in her eyes inextinguishable.
Her mother couldn't cope anymore. She needed to get away from her husband, and get her daughter into a safer position. She kept in contact with her Amber's grandmother, secretly organising about ways to leave, and her grandmother paying for their airfare to get them out of that uncomfortable situation. She was flown far away from everything she was comfortable with, to be given a new life and a new start at a small town. Upon discovering just how powerful her daughter's magic was, her mother wanted her to go to the famous Hogwarts everyone had been talking about.
ABOUT YOU Name: Jasmine Years of Experience: 9 Sample Post: There was no way Amberlea was even going to attempt turning up to the first class on her first day of her "new school". She resented even being here, not knowing anybody, not knowing the customs or anything about this place.
As she wandered the school grounds, which was apparently supposed to be her new home, all she could feel was anger at everybody who had ripped her away from what was familiar. Damn it, she needed a caffeine boost. She had no idea where she actually was by now, but she found she didn't care either. If the school ended up contacting her mother, so be it. She had never really cared what her mother was thinking, or how worried she'd be. Amber liked people to suffer, it was just the way she was.
Her breath drew tendrils on the morning chill, yet she wasn't dressed as warmly as she should have been. She didn't feel the cold however, and revelled in the crispness of the oxygen entering her lungs. She spotted a cafeteria up ahead, and shrugged her shoulders. Looks like today her brief prayer had been answered. Entering the shop she was greeted by a blast of warm air and almost gagged at the sudden change of temperature. She ordered a long white, uttering her words rather sharply for what was a simple order, and stood back as it was being prepared.
Amberlea picked up the paper as she waited for her order, wrinkling her nose at the images on the front page. It seemed quite gruesome, a murder in the works.
Another female beside her uttered three words, and looked like she had seen a ghost, as she also read the paper. Amberlea watched with interest. She was obviously from the school herself, though Amberlea didn't really know why she was not in class. Probably wagging like herself. She still watched her with a peaked interest as she sat down. She couldn't help smirking with a morbid curiosity, she must admit, death and blood fascinated her. She hadn't known or met any of the pupils yet, so to her this didn't affect her in any way. It was just like another news flash playing on the evening news, it didn't involve her in any way, so why should it bother her right? To her, the news always seemed more like a fictional movie than anything else.
An older lady entered the coffee shop, ushered in by the blonde female Amber was intently studying. Amber needed to do something, and the shop was barely empty, probably because it was more a frequent for the students who should now be, theoretically, in school. She guessed the lady was her mother, so that blew her theory about the young female wagging school. She stood there, her gaze flickering between the paper and her cup, sipping at it sedately, almost as if nothing was happening.
The female was obviously upset, Amberlea shrugged, and offered her stinging condolences to the female. "Hey, at least you get the rest of the day off school," she smirked. No one could say she wasn't a cold, heartless bitch, but she didn't expect any less. Other: Classically
