{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: Laynley Jane O'Keif Age: 16 Gender: Female Year: 6th Year Face Claim: Shailene Woodley
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties: Laynley's face has oval like proportions to it. And her face is also well proportioned. Laynley has dark brown eye brows that curve slightly above her sweet brown eyes, giving her the ability to use almost any expression, due to the proportions of her face, which give her an innocent look. Laynley has a fairy pale complexion as well, but her complexion isn't at all ghostly, or pure white. Although her face does have a slightly Brown tinge to her complexion as well, giving her a slightly tanned look. Laynley's long brown hair hangs slightly into, or, at least over, her warm brown eyes, giving her a friendly, but relaxed expression, usually. Laynley's nose is also well proportioned to fit the good proportions to her face, and her lips with hold a pale pink color, as well. Over all, this makes her fairly attention grabbing. Physique: Laynley is beautiful. Yes. She stands at about five foot six inches, maybe five feet seven, or eight inches. She isn't considered short, but against others, she could possibly be considered short, it varies. Laynley is quite skinny as well, though it is a healthy weight for her. And she has a slightly hourglass shape to her body, you could say, at times. Laynley's long, muscular arms lead to her delicately crafted, large, but coordinated hands. Laynley's light brown hair hangs just past her shoulders, but the length of her hair varies over the years, and it depends on if she cuts it, her hair is also fairly straight, but this also, varies, usually. Laynley considers herself to have large feet, but truly, her feet are quite normal in size. Over all Laynley does have quite an athletic build.
Wand Type: Holly, Unicorn tail hair and Phoenix Feather 11 inches in length Wand Expertise: Transfiguration Patronus: Dog Boggart: Her two brothers, dead, because as much sibling rivalry they have, Laynley still loves them no matter what.
Personality: Laynley is a caring person. Yes, absolutely. She'll help you out, walk you to the hospital wing if you get hit by a bad spell. Except not everyone will always agree, because she is absolutely protective of her friends, especially her closest friends, so she will have enemies, most likely from her standing up for them, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Especially if they have picked on her friends in the past. She truly is protective of her friends, even her acquaintances, she can't really stand anyone getting picked on, and sometimes, that might even include her enemies as well. Laynley is shy though, and even though she can crack down on people who are nasty and cruel to her friends, she has trouble sticking up for herself, usually.
But this is usually due to the fact that she doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Laynley just plainly doesn't want anyone to have to feel the same way she does, when they're teasing her, even though she'll be feeling absolutely terrible, usually, of course, sooner or later, those people's teasing will come and kick them in the butt. But that really depends on how horribly people are treating her, or she usually does stand up for herself. It really depends on the situation she has been put in, because sometimes she just might fight back with her words, unless it's only like, joking around, or something. If you're attacking her, or her friends though, she won't hesitate to pull out her wand and fight back, as long as it means protecting her friends, and herself as well. She'll have to stand there for the consequences, but at least she'll know that she did the right thing in the end.
Laynley is friendly, though, alongside her caring and protective nature. She likes to talk, though she does not gossip at all, usually, and she just talk to you, which is something that helps calm her down usually, mindless yammering. That usually does the trick for her, though not absolutely always. Laynley will help you out if you need a bit of help, as well, at least, usually as long as it's academic related. Laynley is quite smart, and patient, sometimes, so she can help you out with your homework, or catching up with your classes, if you really need the extra help. Laynley can be impatient at times, though, sometimes she might just give up if she's helping you study, especially if you can't concentrate. It all depends, really. Sometimes she might not have much tolerance for your constant questions, other times she might answer your questions to the fullest.
Laynley also adores Quidditch, and aspires to join her house Quidditch team, one day sometimes soon, because she can fly quite well, and enjoys feeling the wind bowing back her hair, as she flies at top speed. Plus she absolutely loves even the thought of Quidditch. Laynley will do quite a bit to follow her dreams, especially if it's one of her major dreams, but she won't really follow her dreams if it comes down to loosing all of her friends, her friends matter a lot to her, and if it comes down to loosing all of her friends, she could never leave them. Her friends are ideal to her, because they offer the comfort, if anything goes wrong in her life. And she's there for you, whenever you need it, she's a shoulder to lean on. Overall Laynley is a friendly, happy person. Although she can be a bit flirtatious at times.
Laynley is the friendly girl that usually gets along with almost everyone, sure, she has her disputes, but usually she can interpret what side you're coming from, that is, unless you're a Death Eater, she really doesn't comprehend why people set off to join you know who, when he could turn around and kill their family and friends. Laynley does have some things she doesn't usually talk about, her brothers for one, as much as she absolutely loves them, she doesn't like it when people pester her about them. Or her parents, though usually, she doesn't really mind if you ask minor questions about her family.

History: Laynley Jane O'Keif lay in her mother's arms, a tiny baby with a bit of light brown hair sprouting from her new born head. Two young children stood by the bed, with a nearly blond man, though his hair had more of a red tinge to it. The young boy had red hair, while the other boy, standing on the other side of the bed had more brown hair, though his hair was more of a cross between his mother's and father's hair. And her mother, her mother had the same exact light brown hair as Laynley. The two young boys, and their father stared at their little sister, and daughter, for the first time. It was February 12. The day their youngest little girl was born. The first, and only little girl that would be born into their family of five.
Laynley began showing signs of magic at the age of two. It was an accident, but she couldn't walk well at the time, neither could she stand without falling over, and she wanted the toy on top of the table, so she sort of levitated and got it. Of course, her mother didn't know how she had gotten the toy, since no one had witnessed it, so her parents just figured that one of her brothers had given it to her, or it had fallen off of the table. The moment that her magic was verified, though, was when she turned five. Her brothers had climbed into their fort, but she couldn't make it up to the fort, and she got quite frustrated, so she levitated, her brothers began yelling, frightened because their little sister was levitating into their fort. Then her parents came running out. Being pureblood wizards, it was really no surprise. And they were overjoyed that they had proof that their little girl was a witch.
Laynley spent her days up to her eleventh birthday relatively normally. She goofed around around their house, played in her brother's fort while they were away at school, since they were pureblood, they were both wizards. She got yelled at by her parents when she was too hyper, and she made things happen with her magic, levitating around, making things appear out of thin air, and moving things. But she was still a friendly child, and the fact that the muggle children they came across at times remained wary of her hurt her, but she ignored it, she would make more wizarding friends when she made it to Hogwarts, like her older brothers. Soon enough she would have even more friends that were the same as her, magical. So she dealt with the wariness of the muggles with her hope for more friends, only of her kind.
Laynley's Hogwarts acceptance letter arrived at what seemed to be the the exact second that she had been born, except on her eleventh birthday, it seemed. The rapping of the owl on the window awoke Laynley's parents, who quieted the owl within minutes, and took the letter, opening it, grinning happily, and waking Laynley up to their loving hugs. The very next morning, overjoyed that their little girl had been accepted to the same school they had attended, and both of their sons currently attended as well. That very day seemed to have been the best day of Laynley's life, she was treated like a princess, her parents gave her nearly everything, and her birthday was even more over celebrated than it had been previous years. But there were two things to celebrate this year, Laynley's birthday, and Laynley's acceptance to Hogwarts, both of which marked change in the young witch's life.
The next few months seemed to go in a blur to Laynley. Her parents took her shopping for her school robes in Diagon Alley, the black Hogwarts robes that she had wanted so much, when her brothers had gotten them. She got her wand, and a beautiful brown owl, and a broomstick, even though first years weren't allowed broomsticks at the school, this came along with all of the rest of her school supplies, and she received a good amount of money for the school year, from her parents.
Laynley spent the days leading up to the school year practicing flying around on her new broom, with her father. And once she hand learned enough broom skills, he, somewhat, taught her how to play Quidditch, and she turned out to be good enough to want to play on her house team. Of course, that was if they accepted her. But she would have to figure that out when it came around. For now, she was still a hyper child that loved riding around on her broom, and learning the broom sport, Quidditch. And dreaming constantly of learning to play terrifically, like all of the professional Quidditch players. She was youthful, and she was almost absolutely positive that she wanted to be the best Quidditch player. But that was a childish dream, at the time.
Laynley left on the Hogwarts Express only a few months later. Waving goodbye to her parents as the train departed, accompanyed by her owl, and her chest of things, plus her parent's love. Laynley followed her brother's lead, though, and waiting on the train that first year, sitting near them and fidgeting constantly, nervously, but she made it through her first five years. Bringing her to her sixth year. After seeing the graduation of both of her older brothers, Kyle and Austin. In the following years, she was left as the only O'Keif child in Hogwarts, one that would graduated in only a few years to come. But everything was good.
