{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: Giovanni Augusta Pierce Age: sixteen Gender: female Year: sixth Face Claim: Demi Lovato
Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties:
Gio has a doll face, very cute and small. Her skin is has a light olive tone to it, darkness depending on the season - of course. Her chin dimples slightly, noticeably but not overwhelmingly. Gio’s eyes are dark chocolate, nearly black - matching her hair. She’s got pale, pink lips nearly always in a Cheshire-cat like grin or a devilish smirk. Her eyebrows are trimmed to arch, just slightly, towards the outside end. And, her teeth are straight, but moderately large for her mouth.
Physique:
Gio’s not too short, at five-foot six, but not at all tall. She’s thin, but naturally thicker and curved. She’s got an altheltic build, with some flair, not entirely square. Gio has a serious lack of upper body strength, she carries it all in her legs. Her figure, all together, is nothing spectacular. Average, at best. But it’s nice and suits her perfectly. Her hair is a deep brown - nearly black - and hangs down in waves, just below her shoulder blades. More often than not, it’s down - occasionally pinned back on one side.
Wand Type: 9", Willow, Dragon Wand Expertise: Charms Patronus: Fox Boggart: an older, dying version of herself
Personality:
Giovanni could be referred to as the token trouble maker, however, it’s just not true. Not to mention, she’d have your head if you ever called her such things. She doesn’t go looking for trouble, but who does, right? She’s just unfortunately reckless - and, with that said, self-destructive. Her theory: there are plenty of people out there worse off than her. That never stops her from being detrimental; it’s how she was raised, what she knows.
Gio is a natural born leader, a trait inherited from her late father and proudly taught by her Uncle Davis. Even in primary school, she could be found giving long, big-worded speeches on the importance banning homework. While the teachers loved her enthusiasm, they’re views on her topics were never pleasant. She’s got this power to manipulate whoever, whenever need be. Gio would make a fabulous salesman. She could sell a blind man glasses. Her overwhelming wit is almost painful sometimes. Then again, no one enjoys being out-smarted by a ten-year-old.
Along with that, she horribly intelligent and cultured, courtesy of her Uncle Hecktor. She’s well-read and a closeted History buff. It fuels her adventurous side, her urges to discover new things. Gio is often slinking off to the library to stuff her nose in old books, full of historical tales. The fact that people lived extravagant lives before her, notable lives, fascinates her. It’s the cause of her longtime desire to make her mark in history.
Finally, Giovanni is outspoken. Something so unpreventable that it nearly killed Dominic. She has the tendency to say whatever comes to mind. Which has, naturally, gotten her in more trouble than she cares to account for. Her love for adrenaline, too, is a contributing factor. Gio fancies herself a daredevil. In short, she’s all over the place. She’s loud, obnoxiously defiant, daring and reckless.
Likes: + Rock music + Expensive jewels + Leather jackets and pants + Ripped jeans + History + Screaming + Instigating + Humans of the male persuasion + Breaking rules and expensive heirlooms + Proudly smirking
Dislikes: – Whiny children…or adults, for that matter – Lack of excitement – Being calm and quiet – Worms – Cardigans – Sitting still – Vegetables – Goody-two shoes, tattle tales – Being called “the bad kid” or “the bad influence” – Being out of the loop
History:
Giovanni Pierce was raised by her three uncles; Dominic, Hecktor, and Davis. Honestly, the three - at that time - young men had no business whatsoever raising a child, let alone a girl. So, Gio was brought up as a tomboy, in short. The trio of Pierce boys did their best to give her a normal, wizard life. Hecktor - the family “scholar”, as an author - taught her of cultures and the great historical wizards. Dominic kept her as well-rounded and feminine as a Quidditch player could. He’d often play dress-up with her, unfortunately, Gio would always opt for Dom to be in the dresses, as they were bigger than she was and “fit his look better”. And Davis made sure Giovanni knew how to defend herself, how to stand up for what she believed in. In theory, she’d be the perfect, well-rounded child every parent dreamed of. But within all the life lessons, there was the downtime where Gio would discover things for herself and possibly destroy a few priceless family valuables in the process.
As a young girl, Giovanni loved to go exploring. And, being raised on a large piece of land just outside of Pegswood - where she grew up. She’d deck herself out in her father’s old clothes and run around the lot, digging up the garden and climbing up and through things. With her, she’d carry her binoculars, a sketched map Davis made for her, and a picture of Artemis - her father. It was her way of remaining close to him. Artemis Pierce died when Gio was five years old, on location in a horrible dragon-involved incident. Or, at least that’s what she was told. It made his actual cause of death less important, and provided a glamorous, heroic story for her to think about - rather than the truth; he took his own life.
With the loss of his wife - Nicolette, who died giving birth to Giovanni (her maiden name) - Artemis struggled to get by on a day to day basis. For a while, he and Gio lived in their London flat, a façade of happiness on his part. Dominic, Davis and Hecktor all saw through it and insisted they move into their home. Artemis tried his best to seem and get better, for Giovanni, but with the constant reminder of Nicolette in her eyes, he couldn’t. Three years later, he died. It was tragic, sure, and Gio remembered it. But there was nothing she could do about it and she couldn’t make him come back - no matter what. For a while, she hurt, she was only a child. But with age came understanding and Giovanni made herself move on.
She grew into the spitting image of her mother, with the spitfire attitude of her father. She was a total rockstar in her own right and wore such title proudly, in memory. She managed to live her life, continuously fascinated and with all the curiosity in the world. People intrigued her. Animals bewildered her. And magic, magic was something entirely…magical. Everyone in her family was a wizard. So, it was so natural for her when she started to notice her own abilities. Giovanni was more than ready to go to school.
And, when she did, she was instantly overwhelmed with the grandness of it all. It took her years to gain respect, to become the notable student she was. Impeccable in her studies, but not too well liked by her teachers. Appreciated by her peers, for her confident demeanor, but not approached by the opposite sex as often as she’d like. Gio was intimidating and fearless - not enough to upset the balance of everyone’s life, but influential enough. Well on her way to making an impact.
Sample Post:
Gio’s eyes were virtually pried open by the blinding sun peeping through her window. With a horrendous groan, she flipped over to the opposite side and settled in. Unfortunately, a loud shrieking noise – the angered yelp of her cat, Captain Fancy – shocked her and took away any hope she had of returning to sleep. Giovanni sat up, abruptly and frustrated, and stomped her way to the bathroom. The ogre-like mug glaring back at her was enough to make her regret looking. She quickly climbed into the shower, feeling the nice warmth of the water sliding down her back. A few relaxing minutes later and Gio was making her way down the stairs, her glare still set. It was bound to be a long day, at this rate. She was late for class, missed breakfast and on top of everything, was in desperate need of some chocolate. Giovanni Pierce was in a mood, a serious mood.
A few mumbled hellos from her peers where greeted by a grunt, resembling that of a caveman or closer to an ape. She trudged down the corridors of Hogwarts, head hung and yawning every five minutes, to the minute. It was absolutely useless for her to even attempt making in to class - she’d end up falling asleep, getting points deducted from her house, and inevitably being put in a worse mood than she was before. Which, was not good. Gio was nothing short of malevolent in the mornings, today - especially - was no exception.
With a loud, lengthy yawn, she stepped into the library and pushed by a few students on her way to her usual desk. Blindly, she grabbed three books from the shelves, plopped down in the seat, and flipped open the first: Influential Wizards of the 1500s, a classic. Giovanni took in a deep breath in, leaving a moment to admire the smell of the old, leather bound book. She read for a while, occasionally looking up to check the time and ducking down when anyone who would recognize her walked by. She had a reputation to keep up - sort of. It wasn’t common knowledge that Gio was some sort of a genius. No, no. She was far too interesting to care about her studies, right?
So, with a quick peek around the corners and a deep breath, she sprinted from the library just in time to mesh in with the crowds of students leaving their classes. She hitched her bag onto her shoulder, smirking to herself. If that was all the adrenaline she got today, she’d be fine enough. Of course, you could always use more. But there was nothing like a good secret. Hiding things was her specialty. Giovanni Pierce was a keeper of many secrets.

Heya! Welcome to ISS, it's awesome to have you ^^
Your app looks great, and Giovanni seems like one fierce chica, that's for sure, buuuut before I accept & sort & all that jazz, I will ask that you try and expand on the personality just a bit more, flesh out the paragraphs, etc. That's the part that's really key for her sorting and it could benefit from being a bit longer. So! If you could just work on that, it'd be really great, and I'll be more than happy to sort her after!
Thanks!
