{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: André Xavier Perrotta Age: 16 Gender: male Year: Sixth Face Claim: Nicholas Hoult
Canon or Original? Canon
Facial Properties: Blue, captivating eyes. André’s a smooth f**k*r if anybody has ever seen one. Not only in manner and his silky tone, but more like in the general conception of his face. His cupid bow lips are always a bright pink or a soft variation of red, probably because he bites them too much for too many reasons and his chin is a great compliment to the end of his facial structure. It’s not too soft or too strong, but somewhere pleasantly squared with softened edges. His skin is milky white due to his aversion of outdoor activities or anything sun related and is peppered with a mole here and there. There is a prominent one in his left temple and a couple more if you examine his face closely. He has high cheekbones that slope his face into a very soft variation of a male expression and his eyebrows are thick and dark, just like his hair. Born a brunette, his hair has never known any other color, mainly because there hasn’t been enough sun in his life to lighten it up. He’s been called ‘too pretty to be a guy’ and numerous other adjectives that would put in doubt his sexuality, but truth be told, Andre is simply one of those guys who dislikes physical activities that make you sweat and are only there to prove you are male and possess enough testosterone to smell like a pig. However, that brings us to the next point, which would be, you know, his physique.
Physique: He’s six foot three and he will never be buff. That’s perfectly fine by him because he’s not interested in being buff. Sure, he’s not content with being an absolute string bean either, which is why, from time to time, he submits himself to the very disgusting habit of working out. It doesn’t last long, however, since Andre is the type of guy who cares more for having soft skin that people would revel to touch instead of having a muscle that would make a girl drool. He’s big on physical affection. He grew up in a girl’s only household, so physical touch is something that he takes for granted. However, he does not like touching someone who has rough skin and he tries to avoid the same disgrace to other people by keeping his ivory skin smooth and without any type of imperfections. Tattoos? Disgusting. On other people? Extremely attractive. He doesn’t have broad shoulders, but they are naturally square. As far as physical markings go, they’re almost non-existent except for the small, miscellaneous things he’s added here and there during the course of his short life. There’s the tongue piercing he never would’ve gotten if it weren’t for the one person who’s capable of getting him to do crazy weird shit, or any other alteration, there’s surely only one person who’s responsible for it. Wand Type: Aspen: those with aspen wands tend to be defiant and talkative. This wand boosts power in Charms, but detracts from Healing magic. [Source] Rigid 14” Fairy wing core: This core makes for a light, airy wand, and is the absolute best for Charms. They also signify a connection to the mystic, so these wands, despite their relative rarity, are used by nearly half of known witches and wizards with the Sight. Despite their astounding strength in Charms, they are merely average in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration, and will often fail at hexes altogether. [Source] Wand Expertise: Charms Patronus: Raven Boggart: Estrangement from the twins Personality: André is lighthearted. He likes to laugh and he likes to spend time with people he loves. The thing is, it’s not easy to make him laugh. Not because he makes it tough or because he likes to be a dick—he does like to be one, but that’s not the point. André has a weird sense of humor. He likes bad and cheap comedy but dislikes innocent practical jokes. Normally, someone ends up crying when he laughs. Not because it was him who made him or her cry, but it’s that kind of thing that makes him laugh. Actually, tears on other people make him laugh because he sees it as somewhat weak. Sure, he cries himself since he really isn’t into limiting himself too much, but people crying is…hysterical. There’s something about the way their faces scrunch up and their noses turn red and runny and...yeah. If André’s laughing it’s because he’s either with people he idolizes from the very bottom of his heart, or someone was cruel enough to trigger his funny bone. He likes to spend time being with other people instead of being by his lonesome. He’s not the type of person who does solitude well. For him to be comfortable, there has to be people, people, and more people. It’s the main reason Hogwarts has suited him so well. Aside from the magic of course. Growing up as a muggle, you get to appreciate Hogwarts’ finer points. The people are André’s delight. He likes to be around them, to touch them, to be able to be a person with them, no matter how different and…weird he is.
Because, you know, that is an adjective that describes him quite accurately. Weird. He grew up in a household of girls. It means he takes care of himself physically and likes to look good. Does that make people question his sexuality? Definitely. Especially when it comes to the fact that he’s extremely touchy-feely with everybody. Girls or boys, it doesn’t matter. André is the type of person who will hug you and hold your hand because he fucking likes it. He likes the feel of skin on skin and he likes feeling loved. It was something that was taught to him. He likes to give what he would like in return and he would like some physical contact, fuck you very much. Except, you know, to him, that only applies to the physical aspects. Anything else? No. He can be vulgar one moment and treat you with utmost respect the next instant. At the drop of a pin he can switch. He’s not tolerant of other people, you see. If he dislikes you, he will not doubt to flip you off, no matter how many Professors or authority figures are around. He’s not the type who will stand up for a friend, no matter how close. Protectiveness is solely reserved for one girl, but that is another matter altogether. People need to tolerate him because that’s the way it is, but don’t ask for the same thing in return, because if you don’t agree with him, he will leave you in the dust, drop you faster than you can call his name and he won’t think twice about forgetting you. Relationships? He adores them. Mostly the physical aspect. It doesn’t mean he’s an easy lay, but more about the fact that there are PDA’s involved, and André is a huge fan of those. Nobody can really understand the extent of his love for touching someone in public unless they’ve experimented it. Many people will wonder if he’s dating some random girl one day and then another one the next, because he knows no boundaries. He will invade your personal space for too many reasons. He likes to make other people nervous, he likes to hear their racing heartbeat and he loves to know he affects them so. It’s an ego trip to him. It would even be a game were it not for the fact that he loved having anyone love him back.
No, André is not gay. Nor will he ever be. He doesn’t think so, at least. He likes breasts too much. He is not close minded on experimenting and has done so in the past, but truth be told, he will always go back to the delicate sex. Sure, he himself is quite delicate, but there’s not anything more attractive than a fragile girl in his eyes. Sure, girls are tough and they can stand up for themselves. Whatever. That won’t fly by him. In order for him to be attracted to a girl, they need to be protected. Never mind that it probably won’t be him who protects her, but she needs to look the part of fragile. Otherwise, you really won’t do anything for him. Pale skin and dark hair, tiny wrists and kilometric legs. That’s what does the trick every single time. To be honest, he’s always had a wandering eye, even when he was younger, but from that to take the leap into dating someone? Not everyone can do it. Especially when his attention has been diverted. André is not the type of guy who likes to sample lots of different girls at once. When he is focused, he is focused on a single girl and won’t really rest until he gets her. It’s not about ‘being serious’ about her, it’s about the fact that it becomes a need, more than a want.
André is fearless. And the previous statement is a lie. He’s afraid of too many things. André is afraid of losing his sisters, he’s afraid of losing his twins and he’s afraid of being afraid. Fear is powerful and he knows it. He saw it in action with his father and he’s seen it in action within himself. It drives him to do weird things, crazy things, ridiculous things he would never consider doing but fear…fear is always there. You could say he can be paranoid more often than not, and it is probable that if he doesn’t take care of it, it could become clinical, but as far as André knows, there’s not much he can do, because it’s always there. Whether on his friends leaving him, of being alone, of doing in a freak accident, of not being enough of not everything! Fear motivates a lot of his actions. He is not cowardly by any means, because if it’s about dares, he will do it in a heartbeat because hey, a lot of guys are programmed like that, but when it comes to the serious stuff, to the feelings and shit…he will always be afraid somehow. It was a big part of his life. It reigned in his childhood and it is too deeply ingrained to switch it off, just like that. It’s why he likes people so much. In an abstract way, they make him feel secure. There’s security in numbers, they say, and André firmly believes it. When they touch him when they talk to him, he feels alive, safe and sound. There’s not much he could ask for in this life.
André often suffers from the foot-in-mouth syndrome. He says too much. He’s incapable of keeping a secret and he doesn’t care too much when he reveals one. If you know him well enough to trust him then you should know better than to actually trust him with something important. He will divulge your life-long secrets if he thinks it’s a good subject of conversation with a random person and he doesn’t really believe in keeping secrets anyway. If you’re going to think, say, do something that’s not suitable for any age, then why the fuck bother in the first place? Sure, he does a lot of things that aren’t rated for younger people, but he doesn’t hide it. Why? Because he doesn’t give two tosses about discretion. He’s too talkative for his own good, André is. Don’t even try arguing with him about it, because it’s a lost cause. As a matter of fact, it’s not even a cause anymore. It’s just the way things are.

History: André Perrotta would’ve given anything to have known he was a wizard. To know that things would get better at some point during his childhood, that it wasn’t the end of the world as he knew it once upon ea time. André Perrotta would’ve given anything to not have grown up as a muggle. Maybe if he’d known he was a wizard earlier in his life he would’ve been able to help his mother out. Maybe if he’d known, the fear he lived in wouldn’t have been so necessary. He could’ve casted protective charms around his house and kept his father away. Maybe he could’ve cured his dad from his sickness, or maybe if all those things were for sure fated to happen, then the least he could’ve done was cast a memory charm on his family so they wouldn’t have to remember that kind of crap. Then again, he could very well do that now and he hasn’t done it. Maybe because he’s selfish like that and he wants them to remember what it feels like to fear something so extremely you can’t sleep at night, jumping at every sound. Maybe he wants them to be as scarred as he is, no matter how much he loves them. Maybe he wants them to remember just so they won’t stop being the people they grew up to be thanks to the fact that his father was an alcoholic and despite being kicked out of the house at an early stage, he always managed to come back and beat the shit out of their mother.
There have always been lots of maybe’s in André’s life. Maybe he could’ve done a better job of protecting his family even if he was only a child. Maybe that’s what made it worse. His age and the fact that he didn’t really have anyone that he could lean on. His mother had too much to worry about already, his sisters were exactly that, his sisters and as helpless as he in the situation, no matter how older they were. His parents marriage didn’t last long. Andrew Perrotta didn’t want a family. It was obvious from the get go, but Ivonne was blind to that. She wanted him for her very own and she managed to tie him down with kids. Lots of kids. After that, marriage was the only logical step. Step they might as well not have taken, because it was over as soon as the papers were signed. It was the drop that Andrew needed to fall apart. He felt ‘restricted’ and ‘unhappy’. He started drinking as soon as they settled in together and didn’t stop until Ivonne got fed up and kicked him out. Of course, by then she was several beatings wiser and mother of five kids. Four girls, one boy. Darletta, Kimberly, Elise and Yzma. Oh, they lived to make his life miserable in the best of ways. They taught him how to be comfortable in his own skin, to care for appearances in just the right amount and to become his stereotype in everything female. And not a single drop of magic ran through their blood.
In André’s world, they would’ve been inconsequential were they not his family. Both muggles, not a single drop of magic in their blood. How he’s a wizard will always beat him, but it doesn’t matter much, because it means that he gets to share a trait with Z. Oh, Z. See, she’s this twin. His twin, he likes to call her. Azelma and Eponine. They were five when they met. These pretty redheads that managed to make him laugh and forget about things, even as a child. They grew up together, shared their woes together. Azelma was always there to hear him out when things went weird at his house and she was there when he threw some sand at Nine without using his hands. Or any body part. She was right there with his freakout about it and she was right there when he received his letter for Hogwarts. She was there to ride with him the Hogwarts Express and she’s still there to this day. To say that the twins were a huge deal in his childhood would be an understatement. The twins were André’s childhood. They were his first real, durable friends and of course Z was his first crush. With her cute nose and cute hair and ridiculous demeanor. It wasn’t long until he was supplying her with flowers—she always liked them so much—and building habits all around her. André grew up loving Z. That was the only way he knew how to do it, to be around her. He couldn’t be around her without loving her. She made things so much better. She made transitions so much smoother, she made the world tip and revolve around her. And she was okay with his weird habits, his weird sense of humor, his weird hugs and hand holding, his presence in general. She was his girl without being his girl, because it was never needed. In his mind, Z would always belong to him. Nine was always there too, but the connection was never the same. It was always Z who knew what he thought, what he was doing, what he said.
His sisters were a huge influence on his life. As a matter of fact, it was thanks to his sisters that the twins are even in his life. Cosette, the twins’ older sister, couldn’t take care of them one day and she asked her neighbors, the Perrottas, to watch them for a couple of hours while she and her mother went on some errands. That was the perfect cue for something disgustingly lovely to begin. It was weird. André didn’t normally get along with anybody, even at such a young age, but the click with the twins was instantaneous. As time progressed, it only grew more and more. Before Andrew was kicked out, André sought refuge with them when it became too much. He was there when Azelma herself started showing signs of magic. He was there when she got a tongue piercing and she was there when he got his. She was there when he discovered his fascination for physical contact and she was there…for everything. André grew up to be a very independent kid with one single exception and everyone knows the exception has a name and face. Azelma. His sisters have always been on his case about it, but no matter how close they all are, it really won’t change the fact that what happens between Z and him, stays between Z and him.
