Maylene Bell !
To be honest, when Arti first created Maylene Bell, I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to distinguish her from Hermione, because of Emma Watson. But the truth is? Arti has done wonders with Mays, so much so that I’ve actually started associating Emma more with Maylene than with Hermione! She’s just such a fascinating character, and so adorable, and gosh, you just love every bit of her. Her tomboyish nature, her goofiness, the way she’s just so flexible and can be thrown into so much plottage... it’s genius, really––Arti’s genius. Every time I see that Maylene is in a thread, I’ve just got to read it. She draws you in and hooks you onto her plottage and from then on, you’re just sort of sold, and that’s the beauty of pretty much all of Arti’s characters on ISS. She’s such a talented writer, and her talent comes out extremely noticeably whenever she does anything with Maylene. I’m constantly blown away by everything she does, and the many levels her character has: her charisma, her spunk, her bluntness, her adorable spontaneity... it’s all there. I love all her relationships with her friends, too. All her interactions with Ethan and Pierre and Ambrosia and TJ are so hilarious and heartwarming and lsdfngkfndfd just so many emotions!! Seriously. Arti, kudos to you. You and Mays totes deserve this award.

Adorable Maylene is adorable. This Gryffindor is impregnated with vitality and ingenuity as well as a sense of curiosity that not a lot of the characters possess. She's genuine and strong, with an implacable personality that belies the true nature of the golden house. Arti injects so much vitality into her that I find constantly drawn in, not only to her threads, but to her world in general. Her talent shines through in the most vivid of ways and I can't do anything but threaten to kidnap her, because she's such a good writer and she's only seventeen! Like, I hate you, but I love you because you're incredible and Maylene totally deserves the awards for this. You go, May Coco.
