{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: Lavinia May Ellis (Brown) Age: 19 Gender: Female Year: Graduate Face Claim: Willa Holland
Canon or Original? O.P. Canon
Facial Properties:Liv has that face that can go from innocent and good to angsty and bitchy in a flash. She has an oval shape to her jaw and very high cheekbones, almost a little chubby as though she hasn’t completely lost her baby fat. Yet, she remains very thin in the rest of her face and the smiling and lifting of her cheeks gives her a very pleasant, sweet look. The way she lifts her brows to the way she does her hair ages and de-ages her by a few years. Almost everything on her face is perfectly proportioned from her skinny nose down to her plump lips. Her round eyes are a crystal clear blue that reminds the recipient of even her angriest tantrums of her pureness of heart. Her hair is very naturally straight and needs no effort other than the traditional de-frizzer to keep it under wraps. Light brown and very thin, her long mid-length hair is wispy and fits the angelic features of her face. Liv doesn’t put too much effort in her hair and often tucks it underneath a cute and stylish hat. She spends more time on fairy-like makeups, really taking an interest in pastel blues and pinks to highlights her eyes. Liv has an especially long neck that gives her a swan appearance, but like all girls, there are things she doesn’t like. She feels her ears stick out too far from her head and when she puts her hair up, she rarely wears earrings because she doesn’t want to draw further attention to it. Braids are her favorite hairstyle by fair, because she can maintain that childish nature and accentuate her slender frame. Physique: A little taller than average at 5’ 7” and a very slender frame, Lavinia would make a good model in the muggle world. She’s young and fresh and has years before anything begins sagging. And besides, like many models, there isn’t a lot to sag when the time comes. She has bony hips and elbows that are hard to the touch, but she definitely isn’t sickly. Lavinia eats three full meals a day but prefers healthy food over the grease of fish n’ chips. Her skin tone is white but she can get a nice tan after a long day in the sunshine. Liv comes off as a lot taller than she actually is because she practically goes straight up from foot to head. Her waist is the size that many girls would kill for, but Liv would trade it in to have a booty. Not sure where the desire really came from, but Liv feels real women have butts. As previously stated, Lavinia looks very young and appears closer to the age of sixteen than nineteen. Her best feature is her legs, she’s very leggy and doesn’t have much of a midsection. She doesn’t have an athletic build, it’s a slim, straight one. From her middle up she’s extremely skinny but her legs are actually very full and firm as though she actually has meat on her. Liv has a size nine and a half in shoes and often jokes about her clown feet.
Wand Type: Willow with hippogriff talon, pliable 8” Wand Expertise: Skilled – she’s good in Defense against the Dark Arts, but does a miserable job in transfiguration. Patronus: Liv has gained the skill to conjure a patronus, and the form it takes is a lioness. How suiting is that? It fits Lavinia’s personality rather well, because although she is a woman she is fierce and determined to protect her own. She could never be the kind of lady to sit at home while her significant other was out protecting, she has to be in the action. Lavinia can be a real threat when faced with a foe, but she doesn’t seek out violence unless it’s necessary, just like a lion. Boggart:A Death Eater. Lack of originality? Possibly, but then again you have to consider who and what she is. Lavinia is a member of the Order of the Pheonix and the most and very real threat to her existence is the Death Eater. Her most probable cause of death at a young age would be a Death Eater. Besides, just because you’re brave doesn’t mean you don’t get scared. Bravery means doing something even when you’re afraid. It’s most logical that this is the form a boggart would take, and it’s probably a form it will take in her life for many years to come.
Personality: Like any person, Lavinia has some rather weird things, or “quirks” that she does. She’s rather cautious about her money and keeps it close to her at all times. Liv thinks it’s important to always have money on hand in case of an emergency, and to hide it, so if something were to happen she’d have some tucked away for safe keeping. Her two favorite places to hide cash? Bras that she is currently wearing and socks in her suitcase trunk. Yes, she is that girl at the counter who fishes the pouch out of her boobs to pay for the chocolate bar at the counter. Purses are too large of a pain to keep track of and then you’re always holding something. It’s easier this way, and Livi knows that no one is going to go digging in there. The theory is that she must wear padded bras in order to have space and make it look natural, because a regular person can’t tell there’s something in there until she goes fishing for it.
Religion is a weird sort in her opinion. No religion is completely right or completely correct to her. If you believe in something you’re on the right track. She could be Catholic one day and Hindu the next and it would make no difference to her. She enjoys the history and artifacts of a religion a lot more than the basic belief. In her room, there’s an ornamented cross that she loves for its sparkling jewels, and on the table in the corner there is a small picture of Mohammed. Those two don’t go hand in hand but don’t bother trying to explain that to Liv. Her moral compass points in multiple directions depending on what it is. She firmly believes in the acceptance of everyone and fighting for the rights wizards and witches should have. Lavinia has a very brave heart and is more than willing to put herself on the line for a cause. Her previous status as a Gryffindor in school can speak for that. When it comes to chastity Lavinia thinks someone should do whatever feels right to them. As for her she’s pretty loose in her escapades. While she’s young she ought to enjoy the time she has and the slim body she can keep up. She drinks when she goes to parties and can get pretty wild but Livi isn’t the type to party every night or weekend. She will go out for special occasions but always stick by the law. Lavinia likes to have fun but doesn’t want anyone to get hurt because of it.
Humor is great, but people usually know when to laugh and when not to. Lavinia sometimes laughs at things that aren’t appropriate and can leave an uncomfortable silence behind. It’s even hurt a few people personally but that’s rarely her intention. She’s laughing at them, but if they would laugh at themselves everything would be okay, just lighten up! Unfortunately they rarely see it that way. Her own humor can be pretty biting and sarcastic – she has offbeat humor that can take some getting used to unless you perceive comedy in the same way. Liv doesn’t get along with people who are serious all the time because they are BORING. Seriousness is necessary of course, like during O.P. meetings and deaths. She isn’t socially dysfunctional, she would never laugh during a funeral but when someone falls down the stairs? Hilarious. Lavinia likes to be surrounded by people of all sorts of backgrounds. Friends are a necessity of life because without them there wouldn’t be any flavor. She’s very friendly but tells people like it is. If they’re being a jerk Livi has no problem letting them know they need to get their act together. She’s the type of girl that some chicks are envious of because she’s laid back and gets along with the guys easily. Lavinia probably has more male friends than female because with them there isn’t any drama. She understands them. Burping in the middle of a lecture is awesome, what’s funnier than that? The problem that comes with this is naturally, she gets friends that she thinks of as brothers trying to make the move on her. Half the time a boy she just wants to hang with thinks they’re dating. That can make things uncomfortable and though it’s happened multiple times, Liv still hasn’t found a good way to deal with it. Dating is great if she likes and is attracted to the guy. She’s cool with dating different people or having a relationship. Lavinia isn’t really the jealous type, her man could do things with female friends and she’s really comfortable with it – well, as long as she gets along with said girl.
Lavinia is a gum chewer. She’s also a jolly rancher sucker, and a mint popper. Basically this girl has to do something with her mouth, and don’t take that in a dirty way. Although, she has been told she has a pretty wild tongue. Liv can get on people’s nerves because she chews like a cow with her mouth open and chomps loudly. When she sucks on candy her face puckers up and she puts most of her effort into eating its juicy goodness. Other than candy, which is her sugary weakness, she eats healthy because she feels at her best when she does. Also, wearing a lot of clothes is strangling. She would never run around looking like a hooker or stripping off one item at a time, but she wears short skirts and booty shorts that gets the occasional stare from a judgmental peer or adult. It’s ridiculous really, Liv doesn’t do it to be sexually appealing but because the warm months in England are hot and when you’re wearing long tight pants, it’s hard to move around – she also doesn’t like the feel of fabric rubbing against her skin.
It’s not too difficult to be forgiven if a person gives Livi an honest apology. There isn’t a person in the world that’s perfect and since she hurts people herself, she knows what it’s like to beg for a second chance. She is however, stubborn as a mule. She gets pretty set in her ways and doesn’t like someone to point out when she’s wrong or has made a mistake. Most of the time Lavinia knows exactly when she’s screwed up big time and the last thing she wants is something to rub it in her face. Now, typically they’re only trying to help but that’s the way she sees it. Surprisingly she still does well working in a team and takes the lead if necessary but doesn’t go on a power trip. Everyone has an idea on what’s the best route to take and she likes to hear them out. Lavinia likes to give people stuff because….well because she can. Gifts to her are very easy to give away and she does it often. If an outfit doesn’t look right on her she’ll throw it in her friend’s hands. Sharing isn’t a complicated matter and it’s a fundamental part of life kids should learn when they’re young. If someone tells her she can’t do something she loves to prove them wrong. Even when the odds are against them, if there’s a will there’s a way right? She likes to be the center of attention and if the camera points in her direction, you definitely won’t find Liv shying away from it. She makes all sorts of funny and strange poses for a good picture. To best name her personal style, she’s bohemian retro. She has some cute outfits and then there are those outfits that you can’t really explain and say whether you like it or you hate it. Hats were meant to be worn and she has an array of them in her closet. If Liv does get in a fight she stands her ground and doesn’t let anyone push her around. She’s a strong woman but easily makes the wrong choices, but whatever she decides to do she always stands by her decisions. No wishy washy behavior comes from her.

History: If Lavinia Ellis could say one honest thing to her parents, it would probably be something along the lines of: “Dear mom and pops, nobody listens to the Dancing Dingblobbers anymore. You’re officially an endangered species.” Okay, okay. Seriously now. After that, she would say: “Dear mom and pops, I love you both dearly, but stop getting remarried. It’s really screwing with my head. How many siblings can I have before I forget all their names?”
You can’t say that Lavinia comes from a broken home because she doesn’t. In fact, she has more affectionate family than she can keep up with! Her parents were both married before they met, and it wouldn’t be the last time they would come to the altar and say with a dreamy look in their eyes, “In sickness and in health, as long as we both shall live.” Erm, or divorce. Liv’s mother Emma always wanted to have a big family. She was raised in a home of ten rambunctious children and Emma honestly couldn’t imagine a life any different for herself. Even as the middle child, Emma never felt a lack of love from her parents. It was also nice to have older siblings to watch out for you at school, and younger ones that you could pick, um, she means teach. Younger siblings she could pass her wise wisdom down to. Emma lived a middle-class, but humble farm life far out in the country lands of England. It was a cute and quaint wizarding town, but one in which the people believed in hard work despite their magical advantages. Emma knew how to milk a cow the muggle way and everything required to take care of non-magical animals. They also kept a variety of magical animals, her favorite of which was a small dragon. Yes, she had a dragon. His name was Ewert. He was very pint-sized, definitely the smallest of the breeds. Emma’s life was simple and yet really one so many could be envious of. Her parents are still married to this day, an old senior couple retired from farming but still living in the country. At a dance, Emma met the first love of her life. Stewart Evingston. He was a wizard from the big city, a.k.a London, on vacation for the summer visiting his relatives. Emma was eighteen and though she’d been to Hogwarts every school year, she knew she’d never met him before. They fell in love and got married only a month after going together. Yes, they called it “going together” back then. No children came from the marriage, which lasted all of two years before “irreconcilable differences” got in the way. Emma had moved with him to London, determined to go wherever he went and had been homesick for the country. Stewart’s wandering eye hadn’t helped anything and Emma was a divorcee by the time she was twenty. Ironically, Emma would continue to marry men with last names that started with “E” the rest of her life.
Livi’s dad had a similar but altogether different experience. Douglas Ellis, affectionately called Dougie, is a very broad-shouldered man, but of a small stature. Well, he’s only five foot five, while Liv’s mother Emma hits five foot eight. Dougie was raised in suburbia England with only one brother. Unfortunately his brother passed away when he was four years old, which led to years of loneness for Doug. This was what convinced him to raise a large family – he saw others who were so happy, and Doug wanted that. Still, his life wasn’t bad by any means. Doug’s parents worked at the ministry of magic and brought home a nice sum of money, but they were very practical about it and put most of it away in savings and a savings account for their son Doug as well. Emma was used to haystacks and barn raises and Dougie uniformed houses and delegated parks. He had friends his age which definitely helped him feel less alone and his parents did all they could to give him attention. There wasn’t a meal that didn’t go by without them asking about what he did that day and listening attentively. They seemed like a happy, very normal wizarding family, which is probably why Doug was so shocked when his parents separated when he was fifteen years old. Everything seemed put together, he didn’t remember unusual fights or an event that was really troublesome. Still, they stayed apart and Doug learned to deal like more than half the children in families had to. This is probably a significant contributor in why Doug can’t seem to stay together with any woman either. He didn’t have the best example and he’s always hit like a windstorm when his wife says it’s not working out. He attended Hogwarts and there he met his future wife Emma, although they knew each other they weren’t much more than acquaintances. Doug had been a Ravenclaw, two years Emma’s, a Hufflepuff, senior. In the meantime, he got a steady girlfriend his senior year and married shortly after graduating. Doug was twenty-two when things ended, exactly at the same time things fell apart for Emma. He hadn’t seen it coming but his wife said things were cold and unaffectionate and she couldn’t take it anymore. They had two young children from the marriage, both boys. It turns out there was more than unaffectionate – there was infidelity. His wife Margaret was secretly seeing someone else and she left him, from then on they had shared custody of the sons.
So, how did Emma and Dougie meet again? It was a year after both of their failed marriages and Emma and Dougie were both avid Quiddich fans. Emma hadn’t returned to the country like she thought she would because she felt ashamed and she was so different now. They ended up sitting right beside each other at the world cup, Emma screaming wildly at the top of her lungs for the Applebee Arrows, and Dougie countering with the obnoxious blowing of his horn and screaming that the Wimbourne Wasps should “Kill them!” If that’s not love at first sight I don’t know what is. They began to quarrel and fight about which was the best team, as there was a long standing rivalry between the Arrows and the Wasps. Eventually their argument gave way to teasing and then playful banter, all of which ending in Dougie asking Emma on a date. He remember her being pretty but never beautiful – Doug was smitten. Things went very fast, as it always did for them, and they got married on….yes, a Quidditch pitch. Close friends and family attended and exactly one year later, Lavinia Ellis was born. She is a perfect mix of her mom and her dad – she has her mom’s nose and skinny but taller frame, and she has her dad’s eyes and straight brown hair. There’s no question that she is their child. Lavinia grew up with crazy older half-brothers Marcus and Matty, whom she loves dearly. She quickly learned how to act like a boy and a girl at the same time. She still gets kicks out of burping at the table and telling people to go and stuff it, but she takes care in her physical appearance and manners. Liv’s parents lived in a more urban area of England, a wizarding community that felt secluded and safe enough to sleep out in the backyard, but was also only a few blocks from shops and moving billboards. After her parent’s divorce, she continued to live there but with her father, because her mother decided to move back to the country to “recover.” They separated when she was six, so it’s not like Livi really remembers them being together all that vividly. It was sad though, and difficult to understand as a child. Both parents remarried – a few times. At this point, Liv’s dad has been married a total of four times, and Emma has been married five. They aren’t even that old yet, and Liv jokes that at this rate they’ll have the entire country repopulated double. She has so many step and half siblings that she can’t really keep track of them all, sadly.
She’s hoping these marriages stick. Livi actually really likes her step-mom Lorraine, who’s hobbies include safari trips and baking pies. She has a feeling her dad has finally settled down with the one, because they’ve been married since Liv was thirteen. What’s the standing sibling total:
Pops: 2 half brothers, 4 step-brothers, 2 half-sisters Mom: 3 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters.
That’s a standing total of fourteen including Liv, enough to confuse anyone she is sure. But Lavinia’s life history isn’t just centered around divorce and gaining a lot of family members. She spent a lot of her time playing all kinds of sports, wizarding and no-wizarding alike. Livi was on a junior Quidditch team before she went to school in Hogwarts, called the Hippogriff tots. She was also a chaser for the Gryffindor team when she was in school her Seventh Year. Her best friends were her older brothers Marcus and Matty, to which she owes her immense understanding of boys, and her first kiss. No her first kiss wasn’t with a brother you sicko, but one of their friends. She was eleven and it was the summer before she started her first year at Hogwarts. Suresh was his name, his parents were from India. That boy didn’t seem very interested in her, he was thirteen going on fourteen and she was a skinny little girl who still looked like a boy. But the more they played sports together the cooler he thought she was. She wasn’t like all those other girls, and right after she scored the winning goal for their team, Suresh popped one on her when nobody was looking. Lavinia would never forget that, you can count on it. Of course after she went to school she basically never saw him, but he held a special place in her heart. Lavinia fit in pretty well at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Gryffindor and made a fair few friends in her house. She had a very interesting habits, one developed after someone stole her purse. She’d been saving money to buy one of her sisters a birthday present and now it was gone. Liv invented the not-so-original concept of putting her money in her bra. Since she spent a lot of time running outside as a kid, she wore short shorts and got reprimanded more than once by a professor. On average Lavinia was a good girl who did average in all of her classes but excelled in DADA. Lavinia is such a firm believer in equality for all perhaps because she has so many different siblings and relationships with each of them. Three of her siblings are black and one of her siblings is muggleborn. They are all the same in her eyes and she’s grown to love each of them. Ahem, well, some more than others. In her older school years Livi attended some Hogsmeade parties and got a little drunk – and enjoyed every minute of it. Already in her seventh year, the gossip of a man called the Dark Lord was rising and muggle attacks were increasing. Lavinia knew she had to do her part, do something to help combat an evil that would affect her own family. Once she graduated she joined the Order of the Pheonix, a special society that existed solely to protect people’s rights and confront the dark society of Death Eaters. It’s a scary job and she admits it, but you can’t wait forever for someone else to take a stand, because if you do, they never will.
Sample Post: If he knew, if he only knew how rare it was for Isabelle Laurentine to trust another human being maybe Justin wouldn't be doing all this. Because we like to think in every story that even the villain had broken dreams, broken hopes, that there was some inner turmoil that forced them to do things. In movies - electronic systems that reel a lifetime of pain and love into a two hour story, everything is black and white. There's the protagonist, the antagonist, the best friend, the clueless parents, and the audience. We boo the antagonist when they thwart love and applaud when the protagonist gets their happy ending. We don't know or care why the antagonist is the way there are - they just are. That's not how real stories work. You aren't born a certain way. You're born into a specific environment and it develops you. It isn't just the choices you make that shape yourself, but everyone around you. When some people are told a story, they turn their head and wonder, wonder why a person would bomb a bus full of tourists, or what would make them kill only women. Why did they target specific people, is it a whim or are they part of that villain's tragic past? Perhaps it was on vacation that they lost their parents, or a woman abused them. Maybe it's not senseless killing after all, what if it was the opposite? But few people ever second guess the climax of a story when the hero pushes the villain off the cliff. They're just glad they are gone. Justin isn't a villain by any means, but he does have villainous tendencies. In the story, you can see him as the good guy or the bad guy. The characters aren't really sure until it progresses and action is taken. He's the borderline, the mystery - the person a character doesn't know if they should go with or not. In reality, in actual life, that's how everyone is. Everybody has the potential to do good or bad, we're all in shades of grey. This isn't a story or a film that has an assured satisfactory ending. It's life, and life is unpredictable. No matter how hard Justin tries he will never, ever know the outcome. He can think and study and observe until his brain falls out but he won't ever be able to know if that one character will wait for them or take off with the boat and leave everyone else stranded. Human nature can't be judged, it can't be measured - it has no volume. What it does have is remarkable value, something that Justin was blind to seeing. But he only saw what he wanted to. He saw every person as flawed, as unchanging. Isabelle, well he thought he knew her pretty well. The wishy-washy, trusting, angsty hufflepuff with a sobriety problem, and that's all there was to her.
He is smart, but he is as scared and fearful as he is smart. He doesn't want to see anything beyond that in people. He doesn't want to know that you can't pinpoint what someone will say or do. Life is too scary that way and too real. It's how you get hurt. He didn't want to be friends with Isabelle any more than he wanted to breath because there was too much risk. If he could just calculate things, stealing this or pranking that wasn't risky because it was planned. You couldn't plan on a person and you couldn't plan how you felt about them. That was why he was trying to be very cautious here. Justin knew, as much as he denied it, that he couldn't plan on disliking Isabelle as much as he wanted to. He wouldn't know how he'd feel tomorrow or the next week or the week after that, he only knew how he felt now. Right now he was a little nervous. Sharing a lot of truth with Isabelle wasn't in the plan, but it was more difficult than he thought it was going to be to nudge her and Noah in the direction he wanted them to go. Sharing things with her, it was like he would have to trust her. Justin was done trusting people. He had no idea how much like him Isabelle was, her lack of trust, her relationship with her father. He didn't want to know. What he wanted, what he thought he wanted was to get through this and be the villain he felt he automatically had to be. Focus on the hate, focus on the revenge, the indifference - but stay far away from the pain, from any real happiness that he might feel spending time with Isabelle, or Noah, or even Mia. Because it wasn't real, they weren't real. They fun moment they thought they were sharing couldn't be real if it was a lie. Justin couldn't be amused by Isa or awed by the way she seemed to trust Noah. He had to turn it into something bad, a negative that shown poorly on her. She was too trusting which made her naive, she was amusing because she thought she was tough and independent when she wasn't. She was trusting Justin, something he didn't want to recognize or know about. It was the first time he got to really know a person before he placed a knife in their back and it was a whole new playing field. Still, he had to be the villain. He had to be the villain because he had no idea how to be anyone else.
Cat and Mouse was what he was playing, not Noah. Noah repeatedly told Justin he didn't want in. The problem with the assumption that he weren't in a game just because you "don't want to play" is you think you have a choice. Do you think the mouse asked the cat to chase him? Do you think he likes having his way of life and his friends threatened? No, but it isn't up to him to decide. It's in the paws of the cat, their decision to give up the chase or continue to pursuit. Justin liked that kind of power. Well, he said he did. He liked to be Mr. Boss Man when it could directly affect him, but for example Minster of Magic? Never was a position more unappealing to him. Nevertheless Isabelle, it was Cat and Mouse that they were playing. "Definitely different now," Justin said to his "friend", as though that would reassure her. Aha, the double tap. She repeated everything he said, hence revealing her confusion and doubt. This meant that he was on the right track, finally. "Noah always gets freaked out when something could show him in a bad light. It doesn't mean he really thinks you would tell, he's only being cautious. It's a bit obsessive compulsive really, but I still love the guy." Yeah he loves his bloody guts. Noah was going down with this ship, enjoy the ride buddy. "There I go putting my foot in my mouth again. I really hate when I do that. You're a girl and girls talk, that's probably the only thing he's basing this on. I wouldn't worry." Justin firmly grabbed Isabelle's shoulder. He was such a reliable person to lean on. He was gambling though, because they both knew that what he was describing wasn't Noah typical behavior. Justin was putting the trust he'd built from Isabelle on the line. But if not now then when? That was the only reason he spent time becoming her friend anyway wasn't it? Might as well use it. "I'm sorry. I mean, I can't imagine going through that. Just suddenly...Everything falling apart." Justin swallowed a lump, he didn't like her staring at him like that. Like she pitied him, as though she understood it all. She was talking about the thing with Sara and Noah, so why did it feel to him like she was seeing right into his mind and talking about something completely different? Justin resisted the urge to shake his head and get all that extra stuff away from him. She was talking about Sara, and Noah. She was sorry about that. And, while it was hard to smile and accept such an apology when he didn't want pity, it was much easier when he confined it to this one event and not his life. "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger." Justin joked with a crooked half smile as they started to jog again, hopefully putting an end to that pity shit. Pity was a good weapon in the destruction of Noelle, if not a key component, but it didn't mean he liked it. Yeah life fucking sucks but you move on.
When you burned all of your bridges where are you going to go? Isabelle and Justin put them all up in flames as fast as they could light the matches. Friendships were lost on their own accounts, their problems deepened, and soon enough they couldn't remember who it was they used to be. But now was not for making comparisons was it? This girl that was between them, Sara, she was almost a ghost. She was alive but it was like she was some distant memory and yet she was always constantly around him, filling his head. She was Justin's excuse and reason for why he did everything, or why he couldn't do something. She was there doubting him. That wasn't even Sara's personality - she was wild and completely into herself but she wouldn't push Justin down. It was the memory of her betrayal that was haunting him, one more person who couldn't bare to put him above theirself. Justin was so judgmental about that, about people betraying him. What was he doing to Noah? Suddenly it wasn't betrayal any more if that person already betrayed you? It wasn't wrong to try and mess up their life because of past grievances? It was, but he was being the villain remember? He gets to do that. He gets to do things that are wrong and not have a reason for it. He wasn't allowed to be the protagonist who gets the girl in the story and he was tired of being the best friend, so taking up the role of antagonist was the next best thing. But then, that made him the betrayer didn't it. "Right I know what you're trying to say. Both of us." No she was trying to say herself without voicing her deepening doubts to him, because she was getting the slightest bit of doubt about Justin now. Which meant that now this conversation needed to come to a close so she could continue to focus on her bigger worries with Noah and not that little suspicion that Justin was a bit off. Because now they were going to have some fun and she would forget all about it. Noah wasn't here to smooth things over with her. They were off to a run now and everything seemed to be right on time. Isabelle however detoured from the plan and ran straight for the bank of the lake, and Justin had little choice to follow suit. He hated doing something he didn't want to do. Seems like a silly thing to say, doesn't everyone hate doesn't something they don't want to do? But I mean he really hates it. He will go out of his way to avoid doing something that he feels forced into, but he had to fight his own nature and join her at the lake.
So it was fucking cold. Not a shocker, it looked fucking cold. Now why would anyone want to jump in that? He assumed Isabelle would get turned off by the idea now, turn around and they could go back to running. Justin could let his mind go off and think about things he actually wanted to and not worry about the plan, they would drink the coffee which would be luke warm by the end if they were lucky, and be off in time for class. Sounded nice enough. But no, apparently fucking cold was the perfect water temperature for Laurentine. What the hell? He couldn't hide it, try as he might to play this well and be the nice friend he liked to do what all his other friends were doing, pure disbelief fell over his face. Disbelief which quickly warped into annoyance and then pure disgust when Isabelle said he couldn't be afraid of a little water. "Ever heard of freezing to death? 95 F. That's how far body temperature can drop before it begins to reach a state of hypothermia." Duh. Justin's disgust at her obvious lack of understanding was written all over his face. His arms were crossed and his feet were firmly on the ground, making a point of showing he was not getting into that fucking water no matter what she did. "I'm not scared, I'm intelligent." Any sane individual would do the same. Or, not do the same in this case. They would be on dry land in the early hours of the morning and avoid the frigid waters of a lake that may or may not contain a monster that eats people. Oh shit. He needed to stop that right now. This 'better than you' attitude. He was the easy going friend with a mysterious flair who thought Isabelle was a great person with a charming personality. The disgust flopped off his face, resisting with every movement until Justin broke into a laugh and then grinned. "I'm only joshing you." His arms unfolded and fell "easily" at his side, as stiff as they were. Justin used one foot to push off his sneaker and then the other. He proceeded to shake off his socks and then he bent over to stuff them in his shoes so they wouldn't get wet. This was going to be intensely miserable and he was going to hate every minute of it. This was something Noah would love to do. And Justin would make him do it. Noah being the idiot that he was, would complete any risky part of a mission because it made him cool. In fact, it only made him reckless and increased his risk of getting into trouble by two-hundred percent. She expected Justin to swim in this. He was a great swimmer and he loved the water, but the thought of freezing his ass off gave him second thoughts. Justin smiled brightly at Isabelle and pulled his shirt off over his head. He really didn't care what she thought. There was no spell he had ever heard of to magically dry ones' clothes and he was not getting them soaking wet. Then he'd have to walk back in wet clothes and he'd get sick. No, nu-uh. So he took off his shirt and then as he smiled a little to himself. His undressing might cause Isabelle to rethink this swimming idea and he probably wouldn't have to go in at all. Justin very slowly untied the knot that held up his shorts so that she had time to register this and perhaps change her mind. Yeah he had boxers on, like hell if he was going freeze his bare balls off but wasn't that gonna be weird? Hopefully, he was hanging by a chance here. Justin Whiting did not want to get into the water. He was being a baby.
