{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: Uri Wyatt. Age: 18 years. Gender: Male. Year: 7th Face Claim: Alex O’loughlin.
Canon or Original? Original.
Facial Properties: This boy was never born the natural charmer. He looks serious or depressed most of the time – perfectly depicturing his nature. Even though his green eyes are clear they are framed by his low eyebrows, or hidden behind his glasses when he’s wearing them. When he smiles it hardly reaches his eyes. He’s the type who only smiles when there’s a good reason, but when he does it’s a smile that lights up all of his face. Mick is not really into trying something new. He has had the same hairstyle since fourth year. It’s slightly long, which makes his curls come out – a normal, dark brown color. He combs it back to keep it out of his eyes.
Physique: With his 6’1” Uri is slightly above average. He has been into sports since he could walk, always keeping himself busy, but he’s not muscular in that sense. He’s strong, but you wouldn’t be able to tell through his clothes. He is of normal shape – broad shoulders and long legs. His weighs just as he should for his age and his built.
Wand Type: Maple, core of Ashwinder Ash, 11 inches. Wand Expertise: Protection charms. Patronus: Owl. Boggart: You would think him afraid of exams, but what’s really frightening for Uri is the line after line of words he’ll never be able to read.
Personality: UNDECIDED Who is this boy? Not even Uri would be able to fully answer this question. He is a boy shaped by his life, his parents and his environment. He’s good at adjusting so he’ll always fit in. From an early age he was taught to think about others before thinking about himself, and he is one of the unfortunate children who had to grow up before their time. He is much undecided when it comes to making a decision about his future. He takes one day at the time, one step in front of the other. In that sense he’s also the worst partner a girl could dream of. He claims that he has never been in love, and with his few relationships he has always made it clear that he is not ready to bind himself to the word ‘boyfriend’.
LONE-WOLF OR SOCIAL CAT Uri would consider himself more of a lone-wolf, but he is also a bit of the contrary. He loves his own company and he never gets bored, but when it comes to getting friends – for him – it’s just as easy as picking flowers. He is easy to talk to, a good listener and a shoulder to cry on. He has no troubles with speaking his mind and he’s very good at sensing when to speak and when to be quiet. He’s the type of boy with a lot of friends – girls and boys – who he keeps close, but to a certain degree. He suffers from dyslexia and he is rather embarrassed about his life at home. Only a selected few of his friends knows every side to his personality.
HELPLESS It’s a well known problem with boys. They all try to be strong and independent. Uri is no different from the others, but he is also well aware that he needs help. He is quick at learning, but very dependent on his selected few friends to teach him. He detests books, since he can’t understand a single word. He taught himself by watching what the others do in class, or his friends explain and reads out loud when it’s needed. He keeps his dyslexia a secret from most – only his teachers knows fully about it and he wasn’t able to tell them until his second year. He’ll try to keep a straight face – keep up the façade – but without the help from his friends he’s utterly helpless.
FIGHTER Uri is a fighter. He’s not the type who gives up whenever the task seems impossible, and that is something he was taught when he was young. He’ll fight for the things he wants. His big dream is to become an Auror like his father before him. He won’t let anything get in the way. His toughest component is his dyslexia. But he’s also a fighter in the sense that he’s protective of people he likes. He would let them fight their own battle, but he would be watching from the side-line, ready to step in if it seems like they’re losing the battle. He’s got strong believes, just like everybody else and would shout them out loud if necessary. He’s not afraid of discussion and he’s not afraid of admitting if he was wrong. But you’ll need strong evidence to make him change his mind. Once set on a goal he’ll fight to reach it.

Dislikes: – Books. – Pumpkin juice. – Written assignments. – People disliking muggle-borns. – Going home for the summer. – Tiny spaces, especially if it’s dark as well. – Crowded rooms. – Meat – yes, he’s a vegetarian. – His glasses. – Thunder.
History: It was a very cold and cloudy December morning when Uri arrived into the world. He was a mistake – it’s as simple as that. His parents never wanted children, partly because his dad was busy working as an Auror and guard, but also because his mother had turned ill a couple of years into their relationship. The doctors couldn’t find an explanation, even after months in the hospital. The only words they could give his father was ”She’s lost it…” She wasn’t marked as a complete nutcase. She could still care for herself, but she would have minor or major setbacks. She would lock herself in or start talking to the walls, the pots and pans, or whatever she would be doing in the moment. That’s why they decided in not having children. They were simply incapable of looking out for one.
But Uri still arrived, a couple of weeks too early, but, nonetheless, still alive and well. He basically spent his childhood being raised by nurses, neighbors and social-workers coming by. Uri would think his mom to be normal, because he never knew better, but when he started in school a whole new reality was revealed. Kids would tease him with stories and remarks. On one of his mother’s “blank” days she would come to the school and demand him back with the promise that something was coming to kill him. She would leave him in the park or the supermarket, sometimes even just on the street, and forget everything about him. Uri would have to wait until his dad either send somebody or came to pick him up himself.
Uri is a half-blood. His father is a wizard, his mom a muggle. He has never heard the story of how they met, since his dad would be the only one remembering, but never there to tell. But Uri has known since he was five. Uri’s first touch upon magic was when he made his plate disappear. His father was quick to tell him what was happening and what he was in for.
Hogwarts was a way out – a safe place for Uri. He came as a boy who never had any real friends, and in a couple of months he had several. He never spoke about his life at home, always changing the subject or simply avoiding it. His mother couldn’t reach him at the school and all he had to endure was the weekly letters she would write him. His dad would write once every second month, explaining how everything went and apologizing for the letters his mom would send him. Uri hasn’t spend one single Christmas at home since he started, knowing that he would miss nothing – his dad too busy and his mother too “blank”. He only had to go back during the summer, but at the time he was old enough to wander around on his own, trying to spend as much time away from home as possible.
Sample Post: Oh, the wonders of spring. The weather shifts in seconds – it’s cloudy, it’s windy, it’s warm with a blue sky. Well, at least it was better than winter. So even with this change in the weather (for the better), Uri still found himself bound to be inside, his elbow on his desk, his head resting in his hand. He found himself leaning towards the big windows in the classroom, with the one result that his arm slipped off the table. He jolted to an upright position, hoping that no-one had seen him doze off, but Marylyn next to him could hardly keep her giggling under control in the cover of her hand. With a quick smile – you know, one of those that says ’it was on purpose’ – Uri straightened his back and turned his eyes to the page of his book.
He had stopped listening a couple of minutes ago (he would have said hours, because that was what it felt like to him). Muggle-Studies meant he really needed to be in the right headspace, and finding that was almost impossible – every single time! Uri couldn’t reason with himself why he had chosen it in the first place. He already knew half of what the professor told them, if not even more – being a half-blood and so on. His eyes were already slowly finding their way towards the window again, but this time he stopped them and forced them back to the page. He slipped his glasses on, but they didn’t help him much. Letters were dancing around, shifting place with each other – teasing him in their own little way. It was taunting and annoying.
Words could only do so much. Uri never saw the pleasure in reading, even though he secretly wished he could. He pulled off his glasses and threw them on the table, attracting a little more attention than wished for. Instead he tried to focus on the professor, talking and writing down notes on the blackboard. A quick glance around the classroom confirmed, that Uri wasn’t the only one not paying attention. Briony was pulling one of her curls and Jackson tried to tie his tie for the tenth time – still without any luck. At least Uri’s dyslexia didn’t mess with his head like that. He unbuttoned the top of his shirt and pulled his tie a bit looser. He could feel a draft on the bare skin of his neck. The sensation was wonderful, but only made him long for getting outside even more.
He had slowly started to sink and before he knew it, he was lying across the table, his head resting on his arms. He could only enjoy the position for a couple of seconds before his professor asked him to sit up straight or enjoy more time in detention. Well, detention sure wasn’t worth it so he quickly straightened his back again. Wishful thinking – maybe it could help him? If he just wished for the bell to ring, then maybe it would actually happen? At least it was one way to spend the time.
