Canon or Original? Original
Facial Properties: {one or more paragraphs}
Lara has quite the chinadoll face. Her skin is of a light porcelain color. Though, when angry, this porcelain color becomes a deep flustered red which blends in quite nicely with the mess of curly red hair that frames her face. Lara has deep green eyes which seem to glow with anticipation and eagerness. Her eyes are a bit far apart and her nose is as small as a button and surrounded by little freckles. Her face is very round and child like and her lips are bright red even without makeup on.
Physique: { one or more paragraphs }
Lara is very tall and seems to tower over most, which can increase her intimidating personality. Her hands are very small and almost childlike. She is quite thin but not frail looking. Her body seems to move like air even when she is in a fit of rage. Her entire body is very pale and her skin is very crisp and clean looking. Lara has medium sized feet and rather thick calves which she is very self conscious about. Her waist is very thin but widens out at her hips.
Wand Type: Rosewood and Dragon heartstring, 14 1/2 inches Wand Expertise: Transfiguration and Defensive charming Patronus: {no length requirement} Lara's patronus appears as a small flock of birds to represent her movement and independence and acting as a flock within herself. Boggart: {no length requirement} If Lara were to encounter a boggart it would transform into a dark cave threatening to engulf her. Lara's greatest fear is being buried alive. Personality: {four or more paragraphs} Lara is often quite outgoing, though this characteristic mostly comes out when she has had a few butterbeers. Lara is incredibly sarcastic. This trait often is demonstrated on other students. The only part of her sense of humor that one can catch a glimpse of during the school day. Lara is very very organized. She knows what things are, where they are, what they're for and why she put them there. When placed under significant pressure, Lara often flies out of control, terrifying students and faculty alike.
Lara rarely, if ever, asks for help or assistance, preferring to take full responsibility of everything, in order to prove herself. She is very self aware, paying careful and close attention to how she is acting, talking, walking, etc. Lara is always aware of her surroundings and what is happening around her. She was quite the duelist by the age of twelve and has trained herself to be very concise and quick when put in such situations as a duel. This makes her seem a bit severe and intimidating. Even when she was younger, Lara was very focused and dedicated when it came to responsibility. At times, she can seem a bit absent to her peers, often drifting off into day dreams, unless in class.
She has a lot of difficulty admitting that she is wrong and will carry on an argument for months even though she has realized she's lost. She is very bright and is able to absorb tons of information, this aids in her ability to successfully argue her way through life. Lara is quite good at utilising information that she has read over the years and can dig it up from the back of her mind to use for extra points on exams, house points in class, etc.
Lara is quite the reader as well, insisting on having piles and piles of books lining her dormitory bed in case of emergency reading needs. She is often the one hurrying through the corridor with a book inches from her face. Though despite her intensities Lara is quite friendly and even at times likes making people laugh. She is certainly not a loner and would be no where without her friends. And thus is often seen travelling in a pack of giggling girls. Lara is an avid musician, often bringing her father's piano with her to school, tucked away inside her bewitched bag.

History: {four or more paragraphs} Lara was born to Patricia Sweeting and Christopher Olding. When her parents married, her mother preferred to keep her family's last name and pass it on to her daughter and any other children she might have. Lara's mother wasn't often home when she was growing up, staying at the "office" into the late hours of the night and getting up for work in the early hours of the morning.
Her mother was a career woman if one ever existed. Her father was always very loving and present in her life, reading her stories, playing her music, cooking, cleaning and attempting to make her mother happy. Their house was quite large and generous in space, stacked high and wide. The house varied in size according to each level. The first level was the widest, the second, a bit smaller, and the third was narrow and extremely tall.
Lara first displayed signs of magic when she was three years old. Her father had just gotten home from the grocery store and had accidentally dropped a few things on his way in. When he went back outside to retrieve them, they were gone. Thinking he must have been mistaken, he turned and went back into the house to find his daughter sitting on the floor with a large jar of pickles floating above her head.
As the young Lara's powers grew, the family had to move to a more secluded area and thus had a house built a little south of Sheffield. Her father demanded that it be fully equipped with such things as full plumbing and electricity, as Patricia was never home to help him with any of the chores or cooking.
When Lara finally got her letter from Hogwarts, her father was almost completely destroyed, having never spent much time away from his daughter. Lara herself was heart broken at parting with her father, but tried her best not to show it, so as not to make his depression worse. Lara quickly lost touch with her mother altogether, mostly due to her mother's absence in her life.
Sample Post: {four or more paragraphs}
The air was surprisingly thick. Summer had only just started and already Lara couldn't wait to get back to school. Summer always bored her. Granted the only up side was being able to spend time with her father again. He had been devastated at the thought of being away from his 'little girl' when she got her Hogwarts letter all those years ago. And that pain hadn't yet subsided in the slightest bit.
In fact, Lara loved being with her father and the two of them had spent nearly every minute together when she got home from school. She had rarely seen her mother even once. Her mother wrote for the popular magazine Witch Weekly and was always staying late 'at work'. Lara had always suspected that her mother had taken another lover. And she had the sneaking suspicion that there was a wedge being driven fast between her two parents.
The thought was too much to bear. Lara scraped her feet against the cobblestone of the alleyway, staring absentmindedly into a shop window. She made the half decision to make her way further along and buy a quick coffee. Coffee always soothed her mind and Lara pulled her large tote bag further up onto her shoulder as she contemplated it. Her bag was extremely heavy. Her father had promptly stuffed it full of snacks and emergency candy before she'd escaped through the fire place that morning.
Truthfully she needed some time to herself and was not about to get that time with her day begging her every second to go another round singing and playing 'Those Were The Days' on their old rickety piano. Her father was always such a whizz at the piano. And Lara had certainly inherited that same ability.
And you knew where you were then, Girls were girls, and men were men, Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, Those were the days!
When Lara entered the café at last, she was the only one there. It was still very very early, and she supposed if she got bored she could eventually just walk down to the Muggle park just outside the alley. She paid for her coffee and stepped back outside into the street. She rummaged in her bag, attempting to find one of the hundreds of bags of candy her father had supplied her with.
After several minutes, she reemerged from her bag, holding a large sack of Swedish Fish, a delicious Muggle candy. They were her favorite. And her father knew that. Just as Lara was popping one in her mouth, something shot past her and her coffee flew out of her hand and onto the cobblestone. She shook her head, staring around for the source of the commotion. "OI! YOU THERE! GET BACK HERE!!"
