"Settle down, class, settle down," Professor Horace Slughorn chuckled, waving a hand at the group of students assembled at their desks before him. A collection of bright, little faces, so eager to learn - so he liked to think, at least. Their years seemed to be a rather promising bunch so far, not that he was picking any favorites, but of course there might have been a few stand-outs. There always were, those exceptional students that just had that something about them that separated them from some of their less extraordinary peers. But nevermind that, he thought, shaking his head to clear it and then fixing his students with a smile. "Today, you'll each be attempting to brew a Hiccoughing drought," he informed them, head nodding along as he spoke, as if the extra reassurance was necessary. "Instructions are on page 137 in your textbooks and the ingredients have been laid out at the back of the class." He nodded towards the table at the book and, with a small smile, nodded again. "You may get to work!"
