Professor Sinistra did not smile or greet her class as they arrived at the top of the tower, shuffling around and over to the telescopes. She remained standing by the largest window, eyebrow arched, saying nothing. She'd always found it so tedious to have to deal with younger students, who were generally more interested in either gossiping among themselves and not paying the slightest attention or in asking the most inane questions that just proved they'd never been listening in the first place. She would have been grateful that this class at least had some Ravenclaws but she'd come to find that they could be even more obnoxious than all the other Houses combined, the little know-it-alls. "Today's class will not be a practical study," she announced suddenly. "Sit." She gestured to the seats arranged around the tower. The entire purpose of having Astronomy classes late at night was, of course, so that the students would be able to observe the stars but she did not feel in the mood to deal with their pointing and their questions about things that they knew nothing. Better to review the foundations of their knowledge, since it was still early in the year, and then allow them to move forwards with this unit. "I will be discussing Astronomy from a historical perspective, explaining the beliefs associated with it during the 'Renaissance'." Her lips pressed into a tight line. "You'll need to take notes. Test on Friday."
