{ A B O U T . T H E . C H A R A C T E R } Name: Riley O’Connor Age: 15 Gender: Female Year: 5th Face Claim: Karen Gillan
Canon or Original?
Original
Facial Properties:
Riley O’Connor isn’t the type to stare into a mirror all day, but even she takes note of her positive traits every now and again. She looks a lot like her father, and it is obvious that she inherited almost all of his traits. When she was younger, she used to have a very, very round heart-shaped face. It was baby fat, and even though some people found it adorable, she did not like it. That baby fat lasted with her till she was thirteen years old, and was like a constant torture. She was tired of walking around looking like a chipmunk with nuts in her mouth. Now at fifteen, she is insanely happy to notice that her face is more oval shaped, and her cheeks have slimed down to compliment the new her, and as a added bonus, a rounded jaw line as opposed to the square one she used to have.
Her eyes have stayed the same, wide and innocent appearing, with short lashes that she constantly uses mascara to lengthen. Surprisingly, She inherited her mother’s button nose, and smooth forehead. Those two things are the only physical aspects she shares with her mother. But out of all of her features, the one thing that Riley loves the most about her face is her eyebrows. Her eyebrows are nicely arched, not to thick, and not too thin, and can portray a variety of emotions. Riley is a very animated type of person, and is very expressive. So without those eyebrows, her usual comical charm would be lost. Without her charm, then Riley just wouldn’t be Riley.
Physique:
Riley grew up with a healthy life style, of course this is probably because of her family’s lack of interest in technology. When she was young, most families in her neighborhood had around two to three televisions in the house. Her mother and father didn’t believe in wasting money, so while other kids could sit around all day watching T.V or whatever, Riley did not. Her family only had one T.V, and not once did she ever use it. Only her father and mother used it, and that was only to watch the news, or something of the sort for very brief periods of time. This left Riley to spent all of her time outside, or getting into trouble. She was a very active person, and still is too this day. When she was younger, around the age of six or seven, she was actually enrolled on a track team. She was a small thing, and even though she lacked long legs, she was very fast on her feet. Riley was successful as a track runner, and it lead her to other sports. From soccer to gymnastics, the list goes on and on. Her parents wanted her to stay out of trouble, and sports was the easiest way to do it. When the sport ended for the season, Riley was quickly enrolled into another to keep her busy.
Even too this day, she still does sports, but only during the summer and out of Hogwarts. Anyone can easily tell how energetic she is. Riley is skinny, limber, and flexible. She can run fast, and she can run for awhile, high stamina and all that jazz. This active lifestyle keeps Riley at a constant one hundred and twenty pounds, and she stands around five foot four, this is what she considers a perfect size. Due to all of her time spent outside, Riley also has a nice tan, as apposed to the usual pale white skin tone one would usually find. When compared to other girls, Riley is also…flat. This is the one thing that bugs her. At fifteen, she still wears a training bra, and has virtually no curves what so ever. It’s a touchy subject, a subject she likes to keep buried in a unmarked grave. She blames genetics.
Wand Type:
Ash Wood with Dragon Heartstring Core, Nine Inches. Flexible and Swishy
Wand Expertise:
Charms
Patronus:
Riley’s Patronus takes the form of a small sparrow.
Boggart:
If Riley encountered a Boggart, it would take the shape of a bear or another large animal.
Personality:
There are many ways to describe Riley O’Connor, but only using one of those words can not truly capture the attitude of this young, rebellious teenager. To really capture what she is like, you’d need a long list. She can be compassionate, rude, witty, stubborn, loving, and spiteful. Her personality is like a rainbow, a different color for each mood she is in. Born with a extrovert personality, Riley O’Connor has no problems with talking to others. She loves having the constant company of friends, and is very easy to talk too. She is open minded, and welcomes new opinions and ideas, and yet, it is hard to make friends with her. Anyone can become a companion with this fiery red-head, but only if she really trusts you will she call you a friend.
Another factor about Riley is lack for getting in trouble. Some call it bad luck, she thinks it’s humorous. It’s almost guaranteed that if Riley is up to something, a prank, talking during class, whatever it may be, she’ll get caught. Some blame it on her bright red hair and that teachers naturally pay more attention to her, or the fact that she used to cause a lot of trouble before coming to Hogwarts and her parent’s told the teachers to keep a extra eye on her. Whatever it may be, Riley gets caught, a lot. Don’t get her wrong, she does a lot of things that the teachers don’t notice, it’s just the fact that she constantly does so many bad things, or breaks the rules that she’ll get caught at least once or twice. To be honest, she estimates that she breaks five regulations once a day, and that she has a two out of five chance of getting caught. Those odds are shockingly accurate.
Despite all of this, Riley is actually a good student. She pays attention, does her homework, and studies for tests. She takes her education seriously, and actually wants to be a teacher at Hogwarts when she is old enough. Of course, she doesn’t act smart. She acts just like any other student. She doesn’t raise her hand a lot, nor does she point out when someone is wrong. Riley is seen as a smart student on paper, in person, her intelligence is seen as average. She likes it that way. She doesn’t use a lot of fancy words, and likes things kept simple and to the point.
On a bad note, Riley isn’t perfect, she’s far from it. She has her list of problems. One is her attitude. Riley will only act respectful to those who treat her nicely, or if the said person hasn’t upset her or one of her friends. This applies to anyone. Teachers, other student, the list goes on. Riley is headstrong, and has a strong sense of what’s right and wrong. So if someone acts out of line, she doesn’t like it. Age doesn’t matter to her. It never will. If you can’t act appropriate, why should you be treated with respect? You don’t automatically deserve respect, it is earned in Riley’s eyes.

History:
Riley O’Connor was born on December 9th in the sleepy town of Adler in the country of Ireland around the time of 8:00 P.M to the parents of Alana and Desmond O’ Connor. Both of her parents were wizards, and her father owned a small pup on the corner of the town square. Her mother ran a local library and together, the family had a average income that allowed them to support their only child. Riley was raised around the friendly folk of the town, and had a very social life. She went to a Catholic school, and received a normal education. Around the age of two did she show magical abilities, and her bouts of accidental magic followed her until she received her Hogwarts letter.
Due to her accidental magic, Riley managed to get herself in trouble quite often. Of course back then, it was hard to tell weather she had done it on purpose or other wise. To keep her occupied, her family constantly had her participate in sports. It kept her busy. Since boredom and free time naturally lead to trouble on Riley’s part. She was a rebellious child, and didn’t follow what other said. If you told her not to move, she’d ask why, and then move because you told her not to. It made being around her very frustrating for other teachers.
Riley tended to get in a lot of trouble during school. It was natural for her mother to get at least one call from the principle a day. If she didn’t, it was obvious that Riley was sick, or that something was wrong. Now, for a child to cause that much trouble on a daily basis seems extreme, but this was a Catholic School. If you so much as coughed, or put one foot out of line, you were reprimanded big time. Only through sheer patience were the teachers able to tolerate Riley. Her stubborn nature, and headstrong attitude lead to many disagreements and her constantly pushing buttons.
Around the age of ten, Riley received her letter for Hogwarts. Her parents where thrilled beyond belief. Neither of them had gotten a education from the school, and the thought of their own daughter going drove them wild. Even to this day, Riley is still surprised by their enthusiasm. During her first year, it was customary for Riley to receive around two letters from her parents, and everyday, she’d write two back. Of course now in her fifth year, she only gets a letter a week. All in all, Riley is just a average witch with a standard childhood.
Sample Post:
With every step she took, Riley O’Connor found herself liking this situation less and less. Hogwarts was usually loud and busy. It was supposed to be crammed to the brim with students, and walking through this hallway should a hassle -the emptiness was concerning. Maybe she was just over thinking things. It was winter break after all. Most students went home to their families. Normally, Riley would be with that crowd. She’d be stuck in that traffic jam of teenagers trying to cram themselves onto the trains home. This season was…different.
Her parents had gone on a vacations of sorts to America, and as fun as that sounded, Riley didn’t feel like going. She was beginning to regret her choice. America was way better then being stuck in a empty school with nothing but teachers. The red head had believed that at least a hand full of students would stay behind, but so far, she hadn’t seen any. If there was anything Riley O’Connor hated, it was being alone for any period of time.
The red head sighed, and entered the school library. Already, she could tell that it was as empty as the rest of the school. She walked towards the closest chair. For once, she moved like she wasn’t in a rush. Riley was always energetic, so to see her drag her feet for any reason was shocking. People were used to getting out of her way, and if Riley trailed behind anyone, something was wrong. She all but collapsed into the leather chair. Her book bag fell from her shoulders, hitting the ground with a soft thump.
She leaned back, setting both feet up onto the coffee table in front of her. Normally, a librarian or someone would tell her to get her feet down, but the place was dead empty. Not a soul in sight. Lazily, she reached one hand down to the ground, digging through the fallen book bag for anything really. The teenager removed her Charms Textbook. Wow. She was so bored she was going to read a text book for entertainment. Something was defiantly wrong here. Licking one of her fingers, she flipped to the next chapter they would read when winter break was over. With nothing better to do, she started reading.

"Riley is also…flat." Rofl.
On a quick note: none of the Weasley's are currently in Hogwarts, and Arthur and Molly have already graduated so Riley wouldn't be mistaken for a Weasley. (:
Regardless! Nice app. Accepted.
