Group #2: Slytherin Fourth and Fifth Years
Discussion: Silencio spell
Gryffindor and Slytherin. Minerva McGonagall kept her hands folded neatly together in her lap as she sat at her desk in the front of the classroom, watching them as they filed in. The rivalries between these two Houses always seemed to eclipse all others and having them both together for class required a firm disciplinarian to prevent a ruckus, in her opinion. Of course, it was usually the Slytherins that stirred up most of the trouble - or at least, that was something she'd noted particularily with this bunch. Ah yes, the fourth and fifth years. Only just beginning to think of their future as they realized that their OWLs were soon to be upon them. Some of them would have realized this, at least. The ones who hadn't, well, she would make sure that they were aware of this soon enough. Rapping her wand against her desk to get the attention of the students, she stood up from her seat, walking around in front of the desk. "Good morning, class. If you would all get your essays out, I will be collecting them momentarily. Today, you will be working on the Silencio charm. There is a bullfrog for each of you in the cage at the back of the classroom, please fetch them quickly and quietly and get to work." Nodding to confirm her words and to signal them all to get to work, she brought her wand up in front of her and waved it once, summoning the essays with a quick "Accio" and walking back around her desk to sit down around, surveying the students quietly as she set about shuffling through the essays, already not too optimistic about the results she would find. It was still early in the year, after all, and while that was no excuse, students did seem to take a while to get serious about their studies sometimes.
