Alright, being honest here I think it’s a little hard to ignore the guy. Since we’re in the same year it’s a little hard to just act like he’s not there. First things first, he’s in Ravenclaw and while I’m not exactly one for the whole label’s thing he always knows the answers to like, any question on the planet. Undoubtedly he’ll raise his hand. He sort of goes off on these tangents though, like just saying “onion root” isn’t a sufficient enough answer for him. He’s really into detail, this one. It’s kind of amusing to watch him during class just because of how he regards other people. You’re either with him, or against him. Usually the people who are “against” him are the messy slobs. He’s even told people to straighten out their quills and stuff before. The looks he get are almost as good as his own. When he asks, he’s totally serious about it and that just confuses the person he’s bugging even more. J’s a character, definitely, but a bit too…ah, “high strung” I guess we’ll call him. Whatever. He keeps the place clean and I guess that’s all he needs to do for me.

I'm not sure exactly when I first met J. It always feels like I've known him for ever and ever when, in reality, we've only known each other for - what? Six years-ish? I'm pretty sure I met him in my first year, when I was an ickle little eleven year old right before I was supposed to be sorted, shivering in her polished patent black shoes and terrified of what house she would be placed it. I know it sounds cheesy, but he must have seen me or something and he gave me this encouraging "don't-worry-about-it" smile. Well, okay, so I have no idea if that's what he meant by the smile, or if he was even smiling at me since there were about a dozen other people around me, for all I know it could have been anyone else but - well, the fact remains was that I managed to get up on that stool without my knees knocking against each other - much. Anyways, so I officially met met him a few weeks later, I think? It was really random, as in our conversation was pretty random I think but I dunno. I guess we just became friends and just became closer after that. He's really just a great guy, really, really fun. Oh yeah, and I always get a kick out of his name. Seriously, I think it's just about the coolest name I've ever heard. It rhymes (Jay Kay) and his initials could also stand for "just kidding". Honestly, have you ever heard of a cooler name? No? I didn't think so. -Grins-

He’s kind of strange, isn’t he? Ha, J’s funny though. I mean, you can ask him anything and he seems to know it. It’s a little creepy how smart he is, to be frank. But I guess I’m not complaining. I mean, when I can, erm… Okay I don’t like asking for help, alright? But when I do need help J’s always ready and willing to help out. I wouldn’t exactly call us best friends or anything like that, but whenever we have group projects and things like that we’re usually together. He’s someone I can actually work with and get along with. What a concept, right? He’s more of a perfectionist then I am, so it definitely works out. Oh, but we’re always out ridiculously late whenever we’re working. I mean, he just has to have everything just right so… Well, a lot of time can be devoted to one aspect, we’ll say. He keeps it interesting, though. It’s always fun to talk with him, even if it is just in class most of the time. Maybe we should hang out more? Then again, ha, I’m not sure I could handle all his antics.

I've always been jealous of J. He's so outgoing and all that, and I've never been good at just going out and making friends. He's so dramatic, it's hilarious. He says the funniest things that alwys make me laugh, which makes him pretty much always fun to be around. It's so nice not having to worry about making him laugh, since that seems to be my job with like, everyone else. It's nice to have someone that wants to see a smile on my face, other than my brother and Johnny. I don't think we'll ever be more than friends though, he's never seemed overly interested, and I don't want to push anything. I don't have any major feelings or anything, just a stupid crush, but I can't help it. For once I've found a friend that I don't have to worry over, because he just looks out for me. He's sort of my me. He's to me what I am to other people, and I fully enjoy that. Not to mention it's fun seeing who gets higher marks. Basically, he's kind of my favorite.

You breathe a word of this to a single soul and you’re soul is going to be mine, but the Jay Bird is actually alright in my books. He’s got guts, which is something I’d say is a commonly lacked trait in the Ravenclaw house. I can’t tell you why. I mean, being knowledgeable about stupidity is a bit of an oxymoron wouldn’t you say? Either way whatever it may be J isn’t really the “typical Raven” I suppose you could say. Are we openly friends in broad daylight? Of course not. And both parties are alright with this concept. It’s rare we ever get to talk with each other but there are those rare moments, and memorable I have to admit. He’s a smart kid. If you need to know something, you go and ask him and he’ll spit out three answers, all correct. He’s like my own personal school book. Only much more accurate and a lot better looking.
