A frustrated Rose vents to Bella about her potion's lack of co-operation and, to her surprise, Bella gives a helping hand, making the potion for the ever-grateful Rose.
Rose is abandoned by her sisters and runs into her Quidditch team mate in front of Quality Quidditch supplies. They talk and browse the shop and Rose uses her babbling skills to try and convince Caradoc to start a club that taught people about dragons, his favourite topic apparently. Before she has to leave, he promises to think about it.
A sick Rose meets Johnny Myers in front of the ice-cream parlour and they chat idly over ice-cream.
In which Rose is flattered and complimented beyong belief by the dashing and smooth-talking Edward. Looks like she has found yet another Evangeline friend. Friend of a forest, right?
Rose finally sums up enough courage to ask out her crush of almost a year and, surprisingly, he accepts. They agree on a date for that Friday, but then Amycus has to leave abruptly when the clock sounds. Rose is left in a state of elation.
Rose is sitting alone in the Three Broomsticks, mourning the loss of her pet dog, Spot, when Edward comes across her. He invites himself to sit at her table and, although his visit is very brief, Rose somehow ends up feeling a lot better after he leaves. Because misery loves company, right?
After months of absolutely no contact what-so-ever, Isabelle speaks to Rose by passing her a note - and Rose is only too happy to write back. The old friends chat away for the whole lesson, managing to compile and impressive amount of notes and easily skipping from one topic to the next, speaking as if they had never stopped being friends. Who would've though it?

An upset Rose passes a note to her old friend, Emme, asking for a cheering charm, and Emme, thankfully, responds in kind. They talk briefly and the conversation ends with Rose feeling a little better. Talking to friends always helps, after all.
After Amycus breaks up with her, Rose literally feels as if the world has ended - of course, she had always been known to be a little melodramatic. Isabelle finds her moping on the Quidditch pitch and immediately knows something is wrong. Somehow, Isabelle ends up pulling Rose out of her funk, and although she does it in her usual callous way, it actually works with Rose. They end the day by playing a little one-on-one Quidditch.
Rose has a surprisingly pleasant conversation with a certain seventh year Slytherin, Anthony. They chat pleasantly for a while, and he even gives her chocolate (although, afterwards, he warns her not to accept chocolate from strangers, something she should have already known but, hey, it's chocolate). The conversation, while random, was a pleasant way to distract herself from class, at any rate.
Determined to set up her two friends, Rose interrogates asks Amory about Isabelle. She finds some hope when he tells her that she thinks her friend is "cute" and that he's "getting used to her" - while most people wouldn't find much hope in that, this is Rose. Will she succeed in her match-making endeavor? We'll just have to wait and see...
It's valentine's day! The day of love and romance and friendship - also one of Rose's favourite days of the year, of course. Rose is just finished getting ready to go when she realises that Isabelle isn't even close - as a matter of fact, her friend isn't even planning on going at all! Luckily, Rose manages to convince her to go, although shortly after they reach the dance, Isabelle ditches her after hearing who won the awards, leaving behind a confuse Rose to wonder what that was about.
A while after Isabelle leaves her, Rose finds herself following a stranger out of the ball after seeing how upset he looked. Surprisingly, he agrees to talk to her and she leads him outside onto the grounds, where they would have a bit more privacy. Once there, he proceeds to tell her all about how his girlfriend died last summer and Rose immediately feels compassion, and when she is at a loss of words, ends up hugging him tightly in an attempt to comfort him. When he calms down, they change the subject to a much lighter one and proceeds to get to know each other on the way back to the castle. Once in the hall, Aiden asks - well, practically orders - Rose to dance with him and she, of course, accepts. What a wonderful end to a magical day, Rose thinks when she goes to bed that night.
Rose is beyond shocked when her best friend confesses to her that she got drunk and slept with a guy - but not any guy, Amory Kerr! Shocked, but slightly pleased as well since Rose ends up being convinced that Isabelle and Amory are absolutely perfect for each other. Isabelle, however, does not agree.
In which Rose and Aiden talk - and also in which Rose stupidly sets him up with her sister. Whoops?

Rose writes to her best friend to wish her a happy birthday - and finds out a few things as well.
After Quidditch practice, Rose meets up with one of her guy besties, Kovu, to help ease his nerves about his try outs. She's convinced that he'll make the team, after all!
In which Rose and Isabelle discuss whether Noah really likes Isabelle or not, and how things are going with Aidan and Rose. Just you know. Normal best friends stuff! (;
Amycus is back, and Rose has finally mustered up the courage to talk to him....and apparently, he still likes her. But she doesn't know how she feels about him. What's a girl to do?
A concerned Rose visits her friend in the hospital wing, only to learn all about how he heroically saved a girl's honor. Just another day of Rose Darwin's life.
In which Isabelle wishes Rose a happy birthday!
It seems as if all of her friends are ending up in the hospital wing these days! This time, it's Amycus, and Rose goes to visit him convinced she's about to tell him that she still likes him - but chickens out, again, and ends up talking with him about the most trivial things ever. At least he's okay, though, right?
A frazzled Isabelle informs Rose that Noah is in rehab. After calming her down, Rose and Isabelle then discuss the fact the mystery of Amycus' visit to the hospital wing, Isabelle claiming she has no idea why he's there. Rose, of course, believes her. Why wouldn't she, after all?

Rose is completely lost at a street fair in Ireland and convinced she'd never find her family when her school friend, Tristan Adams, suddenly materializes and offers to help her find her family. Of course, she was more than delighted to accept his request, suggesting they walk around the fair together. They get ice-cream and that's when Tristan drops the bomb: he tells Rose that he likes her - and has liked her for quite some time now - as more than a friend. Unfortunately, before she can say anything, Rose is whisked away by her family, and she leaves the fair with quite a lot to think about.
Isabelle and Rose write to each other after Rose returns from Ireland, and through the exchange of letters Rose finds out that Isabelle is staying at the Black's Manor and that Isabelle did, in fact, seek revenge on Drake Valo by messing around with his cousin, Sid Darley, as Rita's tabloid had implied. She, of course, does not judge her friend. They arrange for a sleepover and, together, they make a pact to have a boy-free summer. Yeah, we'll see how long that lasts.
Rose meets Claire in front of Florean's Flortesque and they catch up on their summer so far, enjoying their day out with ice-cream.
Rose catches up with her best friend, Kovu Brenneman, and they arrange for her to come over to his house later on that week to play Quidditch.
Frazzled over the fact that Tristan might like her, Rose seeks out the advice of her confidant - only to have him confirm her fears: Tristan Adams really did have a crush on her. Which, can't happen. Of course. Why? Well...because of the pact! Yes, the same one that probably wouldn't have lasted anyway, but Rose, being the optimist, still believed that it could. Somehow.
Rose is innocently trying to do her homework when, all of a sudden, Amycus Carrow pops in - literally! - and scares the crap out of her. He then proceeds to tell her that he loves her, always had. Of course, Rose freaks out, Amycus gets a little pissed and...well...Rose, being the sensitive soul that she is, bursts into tears. Amycus immediately feels guilty and tells her to take all the time she needs, much to her relief. And now she has to choose - between Amycus and Tristan.
Oh boy.
Isabelle comes over for a sleepover, where Rose tells her about her Tristan vs Amycus conundrum and Isabelle spills about Noah -- and finally admits that she likes him, although she insists it's just a little. But, of course, Rose knows better ;]
Jade is yet another friend Rose exchanges letters with over the summer, and they chat about all types of different topics...[rest pending]

Rose writes to Tristan asking him how his summer has been, not liking that he seems to feel awkward about what he had shared with her. He ends up inviting her to his ranch that Friday to see his horses and to stargaze. Sounds like a date, right? Yeah. Rose doesn't think so.
Rose Darwin and Jada Khan - probably the cutest Hufflepuff sixth years Hogwarts has ever seen. Their conversations are bound to be riddled with innocence and adorableness - and it is, of course. The best friend discuss various topics, including Jada being hospitalized, their mutual best friend Kasey Korin and, of course, the whole Amycus/Rose/Tristan fiasco, where Jada proceeds to imply that she, like everyone else, is rooting for Tristan. Jada then helps Rose pick out an outfit for her date, the day before it!...remaining pending.
Rose visits Tristan and they have a nice kind-of-sort-of-not-really date in which she realises just how much she's grown to like him.
Rose, as curious as ever about what's going on with Noah and Isabelle - or Isaboah as she seemed to have dubbed them - writes to him, trying to be subtle and first asking about rehab. The conversation then moves on to how much Noah likes Isabelle (so says Rose) and how he should continue going after her. Finally, she seems to convince him. And then she finds out that Isabelle has been doing drugs and freaks out to him about it, sure that he will write to Isabelle himself and tell her off about it. As the days progress, Noah stops writing to Rose for a short while, and then proceeds to inform her that he and Isabelle are "together", much to her delight. Annoyingly enough, Noah refuses to give details and Rose figures she has to rely on Isabelle for that. The conversation moves onto Rose's love interest - er, interests - and she finds that Noah like ever other person thinks Tristan is the best choice, although he ends up telling her it's "her decision". Great. Just what she needs, right?
Starting to miss her best friend after weeks of not speaking to her since Isabelle had been proccupied with "stuff", Rose writes to her asking how she is. Isabelle apologizes for not keeping in touch, claiming that things had been quite hectic. Rose tells her about her sort-of-not-really date with Tristan, and Isabelle re-states her opinion on the matter - that she's totally rooting for Tristan. Poor Amycus, no one's rooting for him ):. Rose then ends up accidentally finding out that Isabelle had been doing drugs and she seems to think that that's okay. Shortly after that, Isabelle suddenly stops writing, leaving Rose to worry her butt off about her best friend.
It's your typical day. Rose is out shopping with her sister and ends up being ditched in Madam Malkin's while Amanda fawned over the dresses. Bored, Rose wanders around the store and stumbles upon someone she recognises from Hogwarts, Spencer Matthews - or so she thinks. Turns out it's his twin sister, Victoria. Or, at least, that's what Rose assumes she is. They chat for a while, with Rose finding out that Spencer needed a nurse for some reason, and Rose's innocent suggestion to go out for ice-cream turns out to be so much more. On the way there, she unconsciously grabs Spencer's hand and accidentally triggers some sort of reaction that she doesn't understand one bit. All she knows is that Spencer or Victoria or whoever it was wasn't...normal?
Right.
But you know. Just your typical day, really.
Isabelle writes Rose an epically long letter, explaining exactly why she has not written to her in a few days. Apparently, she set her house on fire, and Noah had gone to make sure she was okay and heroically tried to see if she was trapped only to find that she wasn't, and that they had kissed and were now together, and that she was now staying at the Malfoy Manor. Of course, Rose is completely and utterly shocked by these pieces of news, but quickly recovers and demands that Isabelle never set fire to anything ever again, and squealing about Noah and Isabelle finally getting together. She then convinces her to come and stay with her for the rest of the summer (at least until their house is rebuilt or whatever) and, to her delight, Isabelle agrees! The conversation moves onto Amycus and Tristan once more, and Rose tells Isabelle that she's finally made her decision: She's choosing Tristan, and is meeting with Amycus the next day. Isabelle encourages her, and tells her she would come a day early for "moral support" or the like after Rose breaks the news to Amycus, ending the conversation with "lots and lots of love and luck". Yeah, she would need it.
Rose has finally made her decision; she's going to "pick" Tristan. And now? Now she has to tell Amycus. And so they agree to meet up the next morning at a park to "talk". And now she has to (possibly) break his heart. Oh boyyyy...
Rose meets Amycus in the park and proceeds to tell him that she has chosen Tristan. Upset and broken hearted, Amycus does not respond and disapparates, leaving Rose feeling more horrible than ever.
Lily and James' beautiful wedding is cut short when three masked figures attack. Rose is grabbed and apparated away by her sister before she can see much, but later learns that Lily's parents were killed, and Johnny Myers is hospitalized.
