Facial Properties: Green eyes, dark and just on the border of hazel, are sunken slightly into his pale face. His eyes are really the only color on his face; his skin is pale and his teeth are shining white, but while his hair is dark brown it either blends in or is hidden by some assortment of hats. It isn't the fact that he doesn't get sun, it's more the fact the sun doesn't get him. He has a slight scruff, dark brown, growing around his chin and upper lip. He never lets it get longer than a four o'clock shadow, which takes talent in his opinion. He has small ears located farther back on his head than normal, but they seem to hear more than most people's.

Physique: Kovu has been called a shrimp most of his life, but it never bothered him. He is muscled because of all the sports, but not overly so in a flashy 'look-at-me' sort of way. He hates people like that. And yes, he is short. He barely makes 5'1", but his heart is big enough to make up for it! (According to his mother) He has small hands and big feet, and is just awkward physically.

Personality: Kovu may be small and odd, but you would never tell unless you looked at him. He does delicate work with his hands; he used to help his father builds ships in bottles and models and those sorts of things. Now he just cuts potion ingredients or plants flowers. It may sound feminine, but Kovu doesn't mind. He is a free-spirit; he knows who he is and who he wants to be, and he won't let anyone stop him. Insults bounce off him like you wouldn't believe. He is capable of just shrugging and looking the other way no matter who the person talking to him is. That isn't to say he doesn't respect people! He respects everyone he meets, even before he knows them. Give a person an inch and they take a foot, though. He gives them respect, but if they abuse it once they're done. With Kovu, it takes a very very long time to make up for something done wrong.

He's innocent. Naive is a strong word, but he doesn't understand why or how people could do bad things to others. He was raised a gentleman and a good friend, so no matter the gender he is always there to help. He has had his fair share of girlfriends, but never anyone who is brave enough to stick around once the teasing starts. He may not mind being insulted, but it does hurt him when his friends get embarrassed around him. If a person is not willing to be his friend completely, then why bother? For Kovu it doesn't matter what anyone says about a person, they always deserve a chance. The downside to that is being completely duped. He has been blind sighted several times, and been used more than he can count. But, as always, he gets over things quickly. The past is the past...why push it?

He does have his faults. Doesn't everyone? He wants people to stick around even if he is small and needs help sometimes, or maybe he has tiny ears--so what? No one is perfect, and he considers himself special. (Hey, it helped him through!) He is good with magic and loves people, so why should his appearance matter? He loves to talk to anyone who will listen, and he never complains. He can listen with his big heart and offer advice to the most down of people. He can party with party people, dance with dancers, and generally be whoever he needs to be. And the best part? All those people are him! He is always happy, but willing to sit and listen to someone who isn't. No matter how much pain he is in, you won't hear about it. He would rather help others than himself, which some consider another flaw.

He loves to be outside. Warm days are his favorite! He plays all types of sports, both team and independent. He loves to just sit in the grass and watch nature as well, but being active is what he does best. He'll run just for the heck of it, or walk around the castle for something to do. Most people think because he is short with big feet they shouldn't have him on their team, but it doesn't matter at all. He never lets it bug him; the look on the other team's faces when he wins tons of points is always worth it. He can jump into any conversation, no matter who the person is. Winner, loser; girl, boy; Slytherin, Gryffindor...it doesn't matter! As said before, Kovu loves to talk. He rambles on most times, but can just as easily not say a word.

History: Sonya and Brett Brenneman were happy, to say the least. There were no problems with them as a couple dating, as any of their friends could tell you. The two were always happy and well-prepared. They were the type of couple you see on the old seventies shows; the mom that makes cookies and asks "how's your day" while the dad reads the newspaper? Yeah. Kovu was unplanned, just like Kiara. They plan far ahead, but apparently not in all ways. Kovu doesn't mind being unplanned, though. He thinks it makes him more special. His sister, on the other hand, absolutely despises the fact that her parents are "so irresponsible". He was raised with all those great little virtues and sayings. "Keep your hands out of the cookie jar", "look both ways before you cross the street", "don't date a girl your parents haven't met"...etc.

He grew into them well, becoming the cute little boy that annoys the hell out of the rebels at school. The one that always tells them they are doing something wrong? Yeah. That's Kovu. He has got the goody two-shoes thing covered. It might be the reason for all of his elementary beatings, but no one is sure. Needless to say, when he found out he was a wizard he was thrilled to the core. Another unplanned thing on his parent's part, who had never let him read those "anti-Christian stories". They were pretty freaked out, to say the least. They refused to believe it or let him attend Hogwarts, until a nice representative showed up in the fall and nicely demanded they allow him to leave. His parents had a nice little sit-down with the man, and a few hours later Kovu was on the train to Hogwarts.

Kovu refers to his transfer like this: "If a kid was raised on soy and then given a cheeseburger, what do you think would happen?" Home is his soy, and Hogwarts is the cheeseburger. Needless to say, he loves magic with a passion. His parents are still against the whole idea, and he isn't allowed to speak about it when he's at home. His sister is also a witch, further distressing the family. She tried to refuse to give up her cheer-leading habits, but the nice representative talked her out of it. He adjusted to magic quickly and easily became a good student. He respects his teachers, impressing them and warming their hearts. Most of his fellow classmates can't stand him, but it doesn't bother him. Since Kovu was born during the fall, he considers himself a person open to change. He calls his sister Winter; it was when she was born, and he thinks it made her heart cold. Kovu and Kiara are like oil and water. Kiara is the blond preppy type; the beautiful kind that uses boys like candy. She is snappy and rude, and looks out mainly for herself. She is younger than him by a year, but he has no authority over him and she lets him know it as often as possible.

All-in-all, nothing big has happened for him yet. He has an owl named Skippy; when he hoots, it sounds like a CD skipping. Pretty original, right? Skippy and Jade, Kiara's evil cat, have had several run-ins. He makes friends and is abandoned by them just as quickly. A lot of people can't stand his energy and running mouth, but if he isn't himself he doesn't feel right. He spends most of his time learning new spells and trying to make friends. It comes to him easily, but people ignore him. His goal in life is to get a magic related job that helps people.
