Piper’s the best. She makes me happy and always makes me smile. I find her funny, hah, the small things she does to tick me off. I just roll my eyes and smile. I’m so glad I met her. The perfect place to meet my kind of friend too: the library. Oh that was something different. We were both minding our own business when this stupid book came flying out of the very top shelf on the tallest bookcase. I looked up and so did she and our eyes met. We quickly went back to reading our books awkwardly, but by the seventh awkward look we kept casting each other, I had had enough and went to talk to her. I knew she was in my house and in my year, but we hadn’t really talked… at all. Ravenclaw is different like that. So I got up and talked to her and we had a really great conversation. I liked her, and I thought there was something really special about her. I gotta soft spot for this girl, I’m not going to lie. But I am so happy we’re friends. I’ll do anything to protect her.

Practically living in the library has its advantages. You’re always close to the books, right when you need them, the knowledge practically at your fingertips. Madame Pince’s rules about silence provide an excellent place to get away from it all… It’s also a great place to meet great people. For instance, not too far into my first year was when I first got to know Piper. She was studying for an upcoming potions test, just like I was. After comparing notes, we started talking about things not related to Professor Slughorn’s class. This quickly became a regular happening and Piper and I became friends. We see each other a lot, mostly because we’re in the same house. It’s nice to talk to her sometimes about things that I don’t normally tell the world, because I know she’s listening. She had a different way of thinking through things, and providing a new perspective for me. The best part is that we have the same basic ideas about things like dating and love. While we both might be slightly weird for it, at least we’re not alone.
She’s my library buddy, helping me study everything from classes to life.
