Trust me, no one is more surprised than me that Joe and I are best friends. But, it's simple, really. I was lying out on the grounds one day, just relaxing before term started, and I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was dark outside, and there was nothing to light my way back to the castle...except for the stars. Naturally, I started freaking out, because I'm Siderophobic, so instead of thinking logically and trying to get back to the castle, I just sat there and cried. I wrapped my arms around my knees and cried. Eventually, I started screaming, and Joe was the one who must have heard me and she came running. She helped me back inside, taking me back to the dorm we shared and tucked me into bed, calming me down until I felt safe enough to go to sleep. And, the rest is history. We ended up having almost all of our classes together, and it was just fate for us to become friends. We're different in a lot of ways, but we're also totally similar. There are some things that she likes that I don't, and vice versa. She's the only person I've shown any of my paintings to, and I trusted her enough to tell her about my real parents. Joe may come off as a girly girl, which I'm not really into, but she's tough. And she understands me. I'm grateful for her every minute of every day, and I wouldn't trade what she's done for me for all the paint in the world.

You ever heard a cat speak before? Yeah well me neither, obviously, but I’ve heard one think before and it was an awkward experience. I can not put into words how bizarre it was to be minding my own business and then see this cat walking by. I’ve tried “listening” to animals before but it doesn’t really work. It’s not the same thing. Ye the funny thing about this cat was that I could actually get some imagery from it. Like, almost understand what it was thinking about but not exactly perfectly. Imagine my surprise when I figured out the reasoning – the cat was an animagus. Sure enough, after a little digging I was more closely introduced to Josephine. She was amazed I’d found out. Honestly she tried to deny it at first, but it was obvious I knew what I was talking about. We’re pretty good friends now, after almost five years of knowing each other. Kind of hard to ignore your Housemate.

Oh my, what is there to say about someone so bouncy? I feel like she can’t sit still for longer than five seconds. She’s kind of – well, she’s really quite all over the place, wouldn’t you say? Not that she isn’t a find individual, of course, but slightly too chaotic for my liking. As much as I love good energy it’s only truly valuable if it’s put to good use. I’m sure if there was a way to harness all her buoyancy then it might not be so awful. Ah, but alas she’s got a pretty face and isn’t cruel (though argumentatively unusual, I suppose). Maybe someday we’ll find more common ground between us. For now, I’m comfortable with where things are.

I have this thing for Gryffindors. I don’t know what it is, but whatever. I swear I now more of them than I do people in my own House. That besides the point, I met Joe through a few other people jus by common interest in friends. We aren’t really friends ourselves. Just know each other, friendly enough when we’re thrown into the same place. I guess I can’t complain. She’s really nice and loves to talk a lot, so we’ve got that in common. Aside from that we don’t really have many similarities. For one thing I found out she’s a cat person so…well, kind of disagree in that area. –Laughs– It’s alright, though. No cat fights between us yet.
