Oh. My. God. Hilarious. When I think of a good owl thread, the first thing to come to mind is friendship. I mean, there are a lot of super cute owl threads between couples, but there's something so real about owls back and forth between two best friends caught in some awkward situations. The characters of Ted and Kieran by themselves are incredible, but together? They're an unstoppable force of nature. I voted this one my favorite because of all the owl threads, this one was the one that really made me go, "Wait. Is this fake?" Win, Joojie and Fief. Win.
- - - Okay. Fief and Jooj. Theodore and Kieran, two of my favorite boys. This note was brilliantly executed, if I do say so myself. And amusing, might I add, hehehe. Everything the boys say is totally realistic and just...right sounding, and it's just...eugh, it's just so real. I can totally imagine it happening in my head, and I knoooow this correspondence is occurring over parchment but haha, I can just imagine the boys in my head saying everything. You can just hear the bitterness at first that Theodore has ahahah and then he eventually lightens up just for a bit cause then he gets his panties in a knot over drunkenness but lol for some reason it made me smile. And Kieran? I just, omg, I have nothing to say, except he makes me ovaries explode and his accent fdlkasjflsajfds okay I knowww I don't really hear him speaking but ldkajfldskajfldksjfd IF YOU JUST IMAGINE IT YOUR OVARIES WILL EXPLODE TOO, but all that ovary bursting put aside, this was a really enjoyable owl to read. It was easy to keep up with and funny and realistic and great, so bravo ladies!
- - - The way I see it, the very best owls are the ones that actually feel like letters sent back and forth between two characters. Sounds simple enough - after all, letters can be only a few sentences, how hard is that? - but it definitely takes some serious skills to pull it off and Jooj and Fief both proved that they've got that with these two hilaaaaarious owl threads. All the words exchanged just feel so realistic, it's as if Ted and Kieran popped out of their makers' heads and really are writing back and forth. And you can totes imagine them doing it because they're both just such fantastic characters. Then you pair them together and BAM. The contrast between the more serious, analytical Ted and rambuncuous, carefree Kieran is obvious and it's pure gold - no one can deny the easygoing chemistry between these two friends. These owls are full of easy banter, dry wit, and hilarious hijinks that'll have you laughing until your sides hurt so for anyone that actually hasn't read them, go now! I'm telling you, people. Theodore Tanner Tonks + Kieran Rhys Sullivan + Parties + Girl Troubles + Girls-from-parties Troubles... What can I say. It's magic (;
