Hopefully that caught some of your attention.
Hello, hello, it's been a while, hasn't it? Well, not really -- it wasn't my ghost posting for Lyle a few months ago -- but it's been a while since I've been around to talk to you guys.
I can't remember if I shared this here or not, but this past summer I was cast in an independent feature film that was shot in both Pittsburgh and New York City. I have a minor role that is very important to the plot, though I don't do much. I'm very proud to say that I was a part of this film, and I'm very excited to see it get produced!
Rona Mark wrote, directed, edited, and is producing the film herself -- she's an amazing, visionary, female artist with a great sense of humor and an even better sense of humanity. She kicks some serious ass, dudes; this is her third feature film. Her previous films have gone to festivals or have been shown on HBO. She's a professor of film at Sarah Lawrence University.
Movies are not cheap, and this particular film requires about seven thousand dollars to be finished properly -- money will go to sound editing and making master tapes to send off to film festivals. Currently, Rona has a Kickstarter campaign going to dredge up some more funds.
If you decide to donate, you will definitely get your name in the credits -- how cool, right? we can say that we all made a film together -- and you can get other cool things like badges or t-shirts that say "Jump off my clit!" which was shouted at my character during a fantastic scene in the movie. Other perks include online screenings or free copies of the DVD when it is produced!
Here is the link to the Kickstarter campaign where you can read more about the project, the director, and what you can do to help!
If you can't donate -- we're all broke college students or broke artists or just plain broke, I understand -- please consider sharing the above link on Facebook (there are links under the video at the top -- check it out! I'm the blonde girl in the wheelchair that is getting screamed at!).
Or you can reblog a post I made on Tumblr about it.
Signal boost the shit out of this, guys. Really. The more people who know, the better.
Thanks for reading through this novel. I miss you all and hope you're all doing as awesome as ever!
xoxo, kiara.
